That's true of most carries though... After his nerf the early game is even harder now though, just try not to use waveform unless you really need to and watch how much mana you spend when morphing.

He's got a horrible earlygame but Waveform is a decent escape. You're really supposed to abuse morphing to STR when in danger and to AGI when you wanna kill stuff, the manacost increase makes that hard.
But you basically have to do a lot of farming and once midgame rolls around you'll still do fuckall damage but you'll be pretty hard to kill.
By lategame if you've farmed, you're one of the hardest carries in the entire game, up there with Void and Medusa imo.

I found a way to kill roshan with no regen in two minutes and get to lane with full hp, lvl 5.5, and boots. You also have enough starting money left over to put up guard wards to protect you as you do it.
