buy ac and bkb after armlet, treads, crits, and optional lifesteal
it's not particularly complex
he still gets out rightclicked because he has to be at low health to do anything unless he's considerably fed
How do you guys play beastmaster? Is feeling way weaker lategame normal?
Depends how you build him, Roar actually scales with the enemies farm seeing as the more items they have the more you're shutting down, I'd recommend building yourself kinda tanky/utility as an aura carrier because theres not much you can do after you Primal Roar in fights other than axes which do some measly damage
[editline]6th June 2013[/editline]
Get stuff like AC/Shiva's/Pipe and just support the team by standing there, your Aura combined with AC, your Boar and maybe a Necrobook if you choose to buy it (which is really good) really helps your team out just by standing there. A BKB is luxury imo but if you're dying way too fast then it should take priority over whatever you're buying next. You ~need~ to be there in fights, especially to get a Roar off. It's pretty much the best teamfight ultimate in the game now that Reverse Polarity has been nerfed (I think it was on equal footing before)
Okay just tried to stack ancients and use the hawk to scout/ward
and ulted priority targets
[editline]5th June 2013[/editline]
Oh I got agh's because the long range and lower CD were good since they had a luna that kept getting out of position but auras make a lot more sense. In retrospect Agh's upgrade on that ult isn't very good on him.
His character is a lot more macho than his playstyle.
In retrospect Agh's upgrade on that ult isn't very good on him.
It's really good, it just depends how you build him
He's a disgustingly good ganker with Aghs + Blink, but he can also be played as more of a pusher to use his aura and the vision that hawk gives you
Elder titan's aura is so ridiculous, I got an AC and I was surprised when I saw how much damage my autoattacks did did :v:
Past 5 games I think 3 of them have had people on my team feed and RQ
pls turn around bad luck
I had a teammate who was disconnecting nonstop, same deal next game except it stopped after 4 disconnections.
I didn't even get a blink. I didn't get much in the way of farm or kills earlygame (we had a dusa and an alch who would afk periodically, so we were more or less biding time) b/c I was laning with Slark who needed farm more than me.
The extra range is a real treat, allowed me to get in and ult before necro or drow or sk would disable me
i would play beastmaster but he is very boring to me
i prefer other offlaners/mids
Newsflash, it does stack. Multiple instances of similar aura won't stack, but you can have Feast/Insatiable Hunger/Moment of Courage + MoM/Satanic/Helm + Vlads + Vampiric Aura for a big bunch of lifesteal.
Max lifesteal:
80% from Insatiable Hunger (Broodmother)
30% Vampiric Aura
16% Vladimirs Aura
200% Satanic (25% passively, 175% from active)
Total 326% lifesteal.
Alternatively, replace Insatiable Hunger with something like Feast.
Late but:
Vampiric aura and Vlad's lifesteal aura shouldn't stack because they are the exact same aura, but with a different name and value.

I've kinda grabbed a new interest in him because I haven't played him in so long, I think his ult is super satisfying to use as well
I know is a very bad idea but, who can get arround with a dagon for shits and giggles? (and I mean lvl 3-4 dagon)
I know is a very bad idea but, who can get arround with a dagon for shits and giggles? (and I mean lvl 3-4 dagon)
all heroes
dagon is core on all heroes
Dagon Mirana (arrow, leap, starfall and dagon instagibs most heroes mid game) and Dagon Spirit Breaker (chain bash people and they cant do anything and they have pretty much no health pool, then secure the kill with dagon/ult) if you get the early advantage
all heroes
dagon is core on all heroes
except for medusa but she was already a garbage hero
dagon is for good heroes only
I hope dota 2 never gets to the point of shame TF2 is now.
Any unfitting items will never get to Dota 2, because they don't fit to the art direction.
I think Valve makes pretty clear points how items shoud look to fit the games art style, otherwise they won't be added.

They had the same idea with tf2 and look what happened.
Say, here's a little question; if you have a Bracer in your build, should you always build that into Drums if no-one else has Drums yet, regardless of whether or not Drums is in your build, or should you just sell it later when you want to build something else? 'cause whenever the builds request I build a Bracer, I feel compelled to build it into Drums, since the boost to attack speed and movespeed is good for everyone.
They had the same idea with tf2 and look what happened.
No they didn't make such points for Team Fortress 2.
The difference is, that TF2 is a comic art style game. That's why lasers and stuff still don't look to unfitting in that game.
Dota 2 is a semi realistic fantasy style game and I remember that people created lots of cool but very, very unfitting looking items in a Polycount contest which were not put into the game.
There is even this manual book how to create fitting items for Dota 2.

Haha, how naive

i dont think theres any situation where drums wouldnt help you and your team
except for medusa but she was already a garbage hero

I like medusa
Whenever people say someone's a garbage hero I get the urge to play them
I usually know better though
medusa isnt garbage devon just sucks LOL
Haha, how naive
Nice argument.
I'm talking about items like this: http://i.imgur.com/k5jLU.jpg
holy shit treant is actually very fun to play as
and the leech seed buff helps alot actually, free mek every 10 seconds
That's not an argument but ok guy.
Valve already said fuck the art style in Dota 2 before and if you think TF2 hasn't strayed away from it's art style then you are clinically insane.
If I remember correctly, TF2 was a lot stricter too in the first year after the introduction of cosmetics
They'll probably won't make the same mistake after the ursa set though, fortunately
Nice argument.

well they did get rid of cowboy ursa
Haha, how naive
I dont know, there hasnt been anything horrible item wise (ursa cowboy doesnt really count) and they have a very strict selection, as you can tell from the polycount, and a lot of items from cyborgmatts patches dont make it into the store.

ursa cowboy doesnt count because they removed it. if they kept it, than yea, but they removed it.

Cowboy Ursa was never removed, it's just no longer sold. It's super rare and last I saw it was selling for ~$500 USD
