it doesnt just give lifesteal, and it doesnt count as an orb so if you plan on having an orb that isnt lifesteal you can still get it.

Not as good as you might think. Skull Basher has innate cooldown on effect of 2 seconds ,so unless you are really lucky, it won't be perma-stunlock as stun lasts for 1.4 seconds

He can't have lifestealer otherwise (except for SK's aura). HotD / Satanic are providing lifesteal as orb effect, which AM has in form of Mana Break.

some heroes actually need or are forced to use a non-lifesteal orb

for example i laugh at rikis that don't get a diffusal blade

and ursa is forced to get vlads for lifesteal because he already has fury swipes (and it works amazingly with fury swipes on top of that)

I honestly don't like it on AM, but it's a great item if your team is hurting in teamfights and you need that extra blow (this is early/mid game now).

Vlad's gives your whole team a 15% damage buff, some armor, and mana regen; and it's cheap as shit too.

I usually get Vlad's if I'm jungling a lot. You pretty much want to be able to farm as long as you possibly can as Anti-Mage without ever going back to spawn.
