You don't need his passive early in a dual lane, end of story.
It gives you some good regen which makes it joke to spam your breath with a soul ring. And the scaling on your stun is terrible so there really isn't a reason to not get it.

He talking about Timber, would be cool if he could breath fire tho
Do you also pick Invoker for trilanes? Seriously, Timbersaw is at his strongest when he is soloing a lane. You should get an early point in your passive because you should be soloing.
And even in a dual lane, the passive allows you to dive and stay alive like no other.
|| is arguing against even one point in reactive armor, as well as said since most clock guides recommend vanguard it's the standard for clockwerk
are you sure he even has trilanes

Ixmike is the one true moustache god
His ability to grow his mustache is ridiculous. He shaved right after the eastern qual. and not 2 days later he fuckin had it back.
If you seriously get armor/regen on hit over an escape mechanism at level one you're just hurting yourself.
and when did they even mention getting reactive armor at level one?
you want to g et it at level 3 or 4, after you got a point or two on chain, and a point on whirling death, at that point you might have consumed all of your tangos
what about Fire Breath
I get 1 point in his stun while maxing his passive before going for fire breath. I usually use it as a last resort to get myself a kill if the enemy gets away.
You can just start whacking away at a hero while creeps attack you and they'll mostly do nothing and auto attack before they realize 'oh shit he's barely taking any damage from all of us' and start to haul ass out of lane.
Had my worst match in a long time.
It makes it worse when some fucking trash support who buys a blink dagger on Shadow Shaman thinks he can talk shit all game and blame us.
Jesus this community.

So I was going through every hero on Dotabuff and looking at the top skillbuilds for this month to find the absolute stupidest. The winner is Lion.

Runner-Up is Tusk entirely due to Sigil.

Mana Drain and Lion in general are fucking weird
Mana Drain is really only good if you have at least two points, but you need to max Earthspike first so that pretty much says you won't get Hex until 8 which can be iffy as it's a valuable disable
Lion has all the skills of a support but the actual numbers, especially on Earthspike early on, are so underwhelming that he never seems to be that great at making an impact early as a support and then he just gets slammed when people get BKBs.
But his animation / base stats are pretty eh too so he's not the greatest mid and even a Lina or a Shadow Shaman can do more with that kind of farm

you think a proper lion build is worse than the most common enchantress build
ok

he's good as a roamer, like a Vengeful Spirit. if you start off well as Lion, you'll level up pretty quick and can get away with ignoring hex for a little while as long as you aren't the only person with any disables on your team.
he can even get away with off laning in some cases, like 1v1 against a bounty hunter, he can spam him down with spike and mana drain so he can't invis and as soon as he hits six he gets a kill.
wtf i suck so much at this game

Lion's skills are all god tier early game, but their mana costs are ridiculous compared to his mana pool early on. I'd take a short stun/hexthat I can spam at will 5 minutes in over a long stun/hex I can use twice and then sit there doing nothing. Mana Drain permits you to harass the living hell out of enemies. It's also really efficient against heroes like Sven with spells that are scary early game, but who barely have the mana to support them.
you think a proper lion build is worse than the most common enchantress build
ok
I was joking about it being the literal worst, I didn't compare them all. The Enchantress build is stupid, yet I've tried it before out of curiosity. You focus your heal and passive and then rush an Orchid/MoM/Aghs for ridiculous Impetus damage. It works because pub players usually lack the competence to focus you down since you're squishy as hell. Yeah, it's flat out stupid against competent players, but it does work in the pubs in which it's used.
We all do.
no,no, me so pro i beter mid than dendi))))
i pik pudge and hook land always
QWEEER build is the best Lion build. Let's you spam SPIIIIKE and hex with impunity while suppressing your lane opponent's abilities to do anything.
