I build Agh's on doom almost all the time.
It's a slap in the face to most teamfight contributors.

yeah, I rather build AC and heart first, and just then i get everything else, I saw a doombringer going full chasing before this patch once, it works well, but if you go full ganking that early, scepter is a bit pointless, since level 1-2 doom will do most of the job, while you chase them with scorched earth and finish off with lvl ? death
For fights the doomed enemy usually withdraws from fight, or gets focused to make sure it dies.
The situation where I can see it working on fights is when there is an enemy with a ton of hp that stays during the fight
Of course this is theory crafting, I play doom often, but Like I said, i'm not building agha

What am I gonna want for core/luxury/situational items? I'm assuming Arcane/Soul Ring/Mek for core.

I'm pretty sure it's Repel at 1/max Purification first/get a point in Degen Aura early but max last as well.

Urn is also great on him, gives him a bit of mana regen, tankyness and since he is a STR hero he gets bonus right click damage.

And Scepter is Glyph 2.0

If you randomed and bought Soulring outright, you can pick Purification as your first skill (for an offensive start), otherwise as you said, start with repel. 1 point in repel is enough early on since it lasts 6 seconds, so I'd say max Degen aura second.

For luxury items you can become a debuffer support with Shivas and Skadi, both slowing enemies nicely (Shivas for more supporty choice, Skadi for a semicarry one), Vladimirs if you have melee units/carries such as Naga or PL, Pipe for anti-magics, Aghanims if you are against a Nature's Prophet or other pushers (since you heal towers) and Aghanims+Refresher for double the effect.

Omni has a really wide list of items he can buy if he has the gold.

guardian angel is removed by magic immunity, but it can still be applied to magic immune targets

so repel then guardian to maximize the effect
