Shadow Demon and Rubick are factually the best mids in the game, and were very commonly used as such in DOTA1.
Yet they're not, because guess what? They fill a better role somewhere else, or you'd rather put someone else mid.
Omniknight is one of the best mids in the game because he won't die, can initiate ganks on the mid, and can do decent ganks with a rune. However, you'd rather give someone else those levels and farm, because Omniknight is a very farm independent hero (after his Soul Ring / Boots core; though this could be arguable due to his great Aghanim's upgrade).
This doesn't change how good he is in mid, just like the DOTA2 4/5 roles of SD and Rubick don't change their amazing mid presence.

an aggressive TA, puck, shadow fiend, or any other well used mid will beat the piss out a rubick, sd, and omni mid though

The voices are probably altered in-game. See Razor's ingame voice and his voice on raw voiceclips.

Wow, I just had a perfect game fucking thrown by a Spectre who just sat in jungle and farmed for a 50 minute sacred relic while their full team raxed and throned us
I had 15k gold stocked up from excessive kills, Roshes and farming, was going to buy a Daedalus and MKB. All gone to waste.
this person didn't respond to a single fucking message or ping while they raxed us, then she just casually goes off to enemy secret shop to buy the relic as we lose the 2nd ancient tower
