That's so true. My newbie friend is actually pumped for Abaddon b/c he resembles the LoL character he was really good at. It's more important new players know who to avoid as opposed to who to play as. IMO a newbie can pick anyone but Invoker, Meepo, Wisp, Chen/ench
my first hero ever was meepo, i got dota 2 on the week he was released and randomed him in a bot game hes my favorite and best hero now with over 160 games as him in my 1000 or so games [editline]24th June 2013[/editline] if you are a new player and want to learn a hard to play hero, you just need dedication and you will hit the spot
Teaching new players is tricky. Sometimes non-newbie heroes just click with them. I was told not to pick Dazzle, but he's probably my favourite hero to play as. On the other hand, I also really wanted to play Morphling and I did just terrible (I do better with him now, though)
To be fair Dazzle is fairly straightforward. Using his heal effectively to damage people and knowing when to use invulnerability might be a bit tricky, but if a newbie really wants to play Shadow Fiend or Alchemist they will run into problems, although, nothing they can't eventually climb over.
randomed am and had a battlefury at 12 minutes game went well
Freefarm is best farm.
what happens if you're enchantress and you enchant a phantom lancer illusion does it do a shadow demon disruption thing where you can have an army of phantom lancer illusions?
I think it just puts down a slow.
I think it just puts down a slow.
Nah, you get the PL illusion and can make an army.
I'm going through the player's handbook for Dungeons and Dragons [sp]because I'm making a Dota related campaign[/sp] and under Wondrous Items, for 17,000 gold is Dust of Appearance. It basically works the same way in D&D as it does in Dota, and gold basically has the same value as well. So that made me chuckle. :v:
Who do you guys watch for streamers? I like Purge and Merlini, and would like some others that just play matches and commentate what they're doing.
Who do you guys watch for streamers? I like Purge and Merlini, and would like some others that just play matches and commentate what they're doing.
Aui is pretty cool
randomed am and had a battlefury at 12 minutes game went well
how That's absolutely ridiculous.
how That's absolutely ridiculous.
if you have complete freefarm (which i assume he did) + exra gold from randoming, thats pretty normal.
Who do you guys watch for streamers? I like Purge and Merlini, and would like some others that just play matches and commentate what they're doing.
jigglebilly whenever he's online

It's good to remark that the heroes people suggest in guides and stuff are that, suggestions, and new players should be encouraged to pick heroes they find interesting, or try out new heroes, and then get better at them. Also I still enjoy playing lycan, always liked the theme of the hero since I tried him on W3 dota
if you have complete freefarm (which i assume he did) + exra gold from randoming, thats pretty normal.
I honestly don't get this whole deal about 'free-farm'. I don't think I've ever had a game where I could say that when playing a hard carry I had free-farm before 15 minutes or so.
carrymancer too stronk!
I honestly don't get this whole deal about 'free-farm'. I don't think I've ever had a game where I could say that when playing a hard carry I had free-farm before 15 minutes or so.
Freefarm quite literally means that nobody is hindering you from farming. Example: You are up against a solo lane hero that sucks horribly (example: Faceless Void) or 2 incredibly bad feeders and can farm uncontested.
Who do you guys watch for streamers? Blitzdota taught me how to mid lane Barnyyy for amazing heavy commentary and a laugh Alia for big plays NoTail for great micro skillz QPADWagamama for pro player skills and also meepo and Jigglebilly too
orchid was just for tidehunter ultin
A question: there was a Bananamancer on that match? :v:
the way i learnt to play dota is by watching jigglebilly every single broadcast religiously jiggle is love, jiggle is life
Can anyone with Gloomblade take a picture of it with ulti? Seeing as they fixed my PA's warblade from the set I would love to see how they fixed Gloomblade.
Anyone?
Situation, replay, enemy ?
I gotta check it out myself if I bother, but it might have even been a bug. Or a hidden nerf, lol. Can't imagine shit like Magic Missile missing when shot up hill, let alone Shuriken.

If I like the theme and VA of a hero I'm inclined to play them more frequently and do well with them.
I used to think that Husk/Shallow Grave was the biggest cheese of all time, but I never actually did it.
Anyone else's game crashing to desktop randomly? Two matches ago everyone on my team crashed (at different times) and we aren't sure why it happened. It happened for someone in my last game too and to me earlier today.
People like this need to end themselves with a box cutter
People with names/avatars like that are just bad trolls. They are trying very hard to look like they are trolling someone when in actuality they are only trolling themselves.

Can't argue balance but I wish Naix just simply wasn't in the game. He's so annoying to play against.
So after a year of not playing, I decided to try and get back into this. Dear god I remember nothing.
