-Meld striking, particularly early when I have no mobility/level one psiblades
-Ganking without runes
-Item choices, I've seen pro players re-favour treads over phase boots and I'm really unsure what to build on her in either situations
-Catching up if I fall behind, which is natural but I lost the plot almost completely

Yes, because people do it because they don't know any better and not because they're tempermental. It also doesn't matter if they improve because everyone has different standards of what merits a report. Some people will report you for having a bad game and dying a lot. Heck, I've met players who are, by their voice, clearly 11 years old or younger. What if you dare to curse in what's probably going to be an M rated game (or at the very least T) and they report you for 'saying bad words'? That's the huge flaw with the mute system. It's automated so it doesn't matter what they report you for, and everyone has different standards of what merits a report.
The part that awes me is that Valve have, if unintentionally, [I]confessed[/I] that the mute system is abused as all hell. In the blog post they mention that you can't get communications reports if you're muted. They just openly confessed that people are reporting people for communication abuse [I]that can't possibly be abusing communications.[/I] This entire system is a clusterfuck.

Short answer: an unintended glitch
Long answer:[sp]Dota servers crashed while i was watching highlights of a replay, i checked my view count and instead of going up from 26 to 27, it dropped down to 25 as if i had unwatched the two replays that session. I checked the tournament again, and no kills had the white timer icon (bar the last session where i watched 6 live games) that indicates you watched it, so every game i rewatched them it increased the counter, totalling 60 - they now all have the "watched" timer icon on them.[/sp]
[sp]They have the particle effect too, unlike the people that used the Greevil/Smeevil glitch to unlock the Large set. But admittedly, the particle effect kinda sucks in my opinion and needs to be redone, its just literally single red pixels spraying off her wings[/sp]

Set traps on runes and roshan, they give vision so you can see when one spawns and know when someones at rosh. As for items I ususally go Phase-Blink-BKB-Deso-Daedalus. Being a snowball hero falling behind is quite bad, but with good positioning psi blade spill is a practical cleave so you can farm pretty quick.

sorry for blowing you off but this in particular is sort of common sense, its not going to win me the game. Rune control is obviously something you have the upper hand in by knowing where the rune is, but what if you have a hero like qop who can grab the runes off of you each time if they have wards? if a side lane needs attention, how am i supposed to make an impact if i only have some boots?
Phase-Blink-BKB-Deso-Daedalus is a pretty straight forward build but you can only do that safely if you are way ahead. If you fall behind, Blink is almost pointless, and Deso/Daedalus would just be irrelevant until you are survivable enough to use them. I can build TA if I'm doing fine
And psi blade flash farming isn't something I consider myself bad at either, it's a pretty easy thing to pull off to harrass and farm and to use it to your advantage when denying. Thanks for the help but you're pretty much telling me the things I do know rather than what I don't
Then I don't think there's anything left, there really isn't any super secret win method, it's just you.
In other news, yesterday Dota was nearly unplayably laggy and now it wont even launch, what the fuck is going on.

This is what I hate the most about the current communication bans, you can't make a harmless joke, you can't have fun, you can't say anything, I think the problem right is not people toxic, but players being hurt so easily, They need to grow a thicker skin
I don't think anything in the whole world ruins dota games like consistent 800ms does. Finally finish working for the day and look forward to a game only do discover I have to prophesize the whole game almost a second in advance... while soloing weaver. We managed to do pretty well but as soon as the teamfights started I just wasn't able to be useful for more than a couple of them. Sigh.

So uh... I just got around to installing Dota 2 and right away, I'm having a problem. As soon as the intro video starts to play, my game seems to lock itself at about 8 FPS and it never picks up.
I've reinstalled my game, verified my files, and updated my drivers but none of it has made a difference. This is also the only game I have that does this.
I've googled but I can't seem to find any answers and it looks like most of the threads I can find were posted over a month ago.
Does anybody know what's up?

Put -novid in your startup options, that will get you past the intro video at least. That probably wont fix it but hey, you never know. Also, post your computer specs, if you don't mind.
