Warlock/Venomancer can deal over 2500 magic damage to each member of the enemy team.
And the damage can kill.
The big thing in my opinion with pl is how easy it is to flash farm even with barely any items. If I get shut down my gold during early game I can still have levels to juxtapose my way around the jungle creep and farm all my stuff there, without taking damage and without mana cost, aka as long as I want. Additionally, i can send part of my illusion into a lane and push without even being there (mostly happens late game though). And since pubs generally don"t smoke gank/bring dust/gank jungle at all, it is very easy to appear 25 mins later with a good chunk of item. This is different from spectre, anti-mage, faceless and many other carries that highly depend on one or many items (battlefury, mask of madness, mjollnir, hand of midas) to start farming effectively. He is on-par with the super-late carries such as spectre and medusa, but doesn't hold as much risk during the early-mid game.
wisp and riki is weird but apparently it works
wisp and riki is actually really good if you have another carry that can stay in teamfights the main thing with wisp is you want to get an easy tether stun, that's why wisp ck is so great because reality rift just puts you in the perfect position with riki wisp you can blink on someone for an easy tether, then smoke and use overcharge to abuse riki's great early damage [editline]5th May 2013[/editline]
carry of your choice elder titan magnus tide hunter warlock gg
pure wombo combo teams are actually pretty shit because you have no single target lockdown so either you get a big teamfight or you don't want to want to waste anything and as a result have trouble getting early pick offs better to replace tidehunter with someone like lion
randoming treant should be banned. carry treant is just so much fun bonking people on the head never gets old.
9 matches today 7w/2l today was a good day
Some people think invisibility is overpowered. Sometimes people just don't want to learn how to counter things.
I'm alright with dealing with Invis heroes. Just not invis heroes that can completely cockblock me from the real invis hero.
"Bottle is not needed in mid" -Friendly neighourhood Warlock, low priority, 2013
it isn't
I hate to get upset at people when I'm still a new player myself, but it is really disheartening to see at least one person abandon almost every team I've played on so far. I can excuse people doing dumb things, but I just wish they'd see the game through to the end.
yeah abandons are a problem in low level games, they tend to drop off as you get more experience under your belt though [t]http://i.imgur.com/GzMhseL.jpg[/t]
I'm close to get 10 defeats above wins, horrible games, one after another I also had to keep saving my ult for sniper on this game It was either trap the melee right clickers and die to sniper, or trap sniper while leaving the rest outside :suicide:

Thanks, i needed a good laugh
yeah abandons are a problem in low level games, they tend to drop off as you get more experience under your belt though [t]http://i.imgur.com/GzMhseL.jpg[/t]
I like the numbers, but I don't like the "percent usage in x over y." Makes it really misleading. Cloak has around ~600 games in normal and ~1200 in very high, for instance, but what's the point in just having cloak in your inventory when Hood of Defiance and Pipe are more important to build into? I'd like to see the actual numbers instead of just percentages.
"Bottle is not needed in mid" -Friendly neighourhood Warlock, low priority, 2013
Some heroes really benefit from bottle, others can skip it or get something else (like a soul ring) [editline]5th May 2013[/editline] And another really LOVELY thing, people getting lagspikes or game freezes for several seconds, it seems to be happening often these past few days
I like the numbers, but I don't like the "percent usage in x over y." Makes it really misleading. I ended up going to dev.dota to bitch about the mute system a few days ago, I like the replies I got
"Bottle is not needed in mid" -Friendly neighourhood Warlock, low priority, 2013
As Warlock? Certainly not. Heroes like Clockwerk and Magnus need to bottle runes a lot more than he does.
i don't really see how it's misleading, what other metric would you use? the percentage usage is right there. naked cloak is actually a perfectly fine pickup. sure hood is better but that's like saying "why ever stay on brown boots when you could upgrade them?" you can't always afford the +1500gp just to get another 15% magic resistance.
Like I said, the raw numbers as opposed to percentages (or at least percentages with a few decimal places, to make more sense out of things like Medallion, Necrobook [which is another silly one, since there's two levels of necrobook before necro3], Satanic, Halberd, etc.). And you get Hood for the extra HP regen as well. If you're a support against a spellcaster-heavy enemy, why WOULDN'T you go Pipe -- Is there any indication on when Valve is gonna release the keys for the Malignant Amanita chests? I want to open them.
Regarding communication bans, in my opinion it should just mute the player for everyone, but the players can choose to unmute the com-banned player the same way they can manually mute them.
If you're a support against a spellcaster-heavy enemy, why WOULDN'T you go Pipe
because there's already a pipe on your team? because you're a hero who is not a good pipe carrier? because you're not getting any farm at all? because you're part of a push heavy team that tries to end the game before finishing large items? there are dozens of reasons you, specifically, wouldn't go pipe or upgrade your cloak.
Im getting fucking sick of lifestealers/lancers in every game.
because there's already a pipe on your team? because you're a hero who is not a good pipe carrier? because you're not getting any farm at all? there are dozens of reasons you, specifically, wouldn't go pipe or upgrade your cloak.
fair enough. I would say I've never seen it, but I can't really talk since all my games are filed under normal.
here, I found the raw data with the raw numbers: [t]http://i.imgur.com/8tcZN2Q.png[/t] from here: http://dotametrics.wordpress.com/2013/04/30/dota-2-item-trends-in-6-77-2/ [editline]5th May 2013[/editline] just as a point though, percentage differences will be LESS misleading than flat numbers because the disparity in number of matches per bracket is so huge.
could people post some fun combinations of heroes just discovered the lifestealer/spirit breaker combo (read: they kicked the shit out of us), is there any more cool things like that? (any team size combos welcomed)
Wisp plus hard hitting carry with low AS(tiny ck for example) + Naix infesting one of them 3 man global ganks scary shit. For bonus pants shitting throw in a NP or Spectre or Naix infesting BH/Riki/Nyx. Bonus bullshit awarded if 2 stealth heroes are on the team. A BH, Naix, Nyx sudden attack is vicious.
here, I found the raw data with the raw numbers: [t]http://i.imgur.com/8tcZN2Q.png[/t] from here: http://dotametrics.wordpress.com/2013/04/30/dota-2-item-trends-in-6-77-2/ [editline]5th May 2013[/editline] just as a point though, percentage differences will be LESS misleading than flat numbers because the disparity in number of matches per bracket is so huge.
it also has high usage/winrates and the winrates themselves which is always fun it's better to have all of the data and make a mental summary than to be given the summary without knowing the data, in my opinion.
I usually go maelstorm and HoTD on void, then turn my maelstrom into a mjolnir, but after that i'm totally clueless, what would be better for void, even more attack speed or damage items? I'm also itnerested on playing weaver, but I hardly have any ideas how to play him (go gank/push or rice forever)
Im getting fucking sick of lifestealers/lancers in every game.
I'm hardly seeing any Phantom lancers lately, It's mostly naix
could people post some fun combinations of heroes just discovered the lifestealer/spirit breaker combo (read: they kicked the shit out of us), is there any more cool things like that? (any team size combos welcomed)
Huskar and omni Lifebreak>purify and repel if needed you can replace huskar with slark Also some AoE that pulls enemies, like vaccum or reverse polarity, and centaur (stampede and double edge)
Im getting fucking sick of lifestealers/lancers in every game.
Lancer isn't a problem. Literally all you can do if there's Lifestealer is hope he doesn't know how to play the game. If he does it's already game over.
