I think the discovery system is outright broken at the moment? It's always reporting as being disconnected for me, and most communication modules I build vanish after reloading. Initially I thought this might have been because I was on the GoG client or something, but lots of people on the reddit are saying the thing has basically been turned off for now. There's an obscure method of forcing connection that apparently involves going through a portal, and then quickly renaming and uploading any discoveries you want to save. It's a bit disappointing, because while multiplayer is very welcome in NMS, I actually found the basic act of renaming places I've been quite endearing. I like the idea of other explorers checking out what I took the time to name.
not an option when you're 2 hours from the closest planet and have no fleet, I died and just recollected my stuff so its whatever

How do I get both of my ships into my freighter? And is it normal for my entire freighter crew to change races when I warp to a new system?
It should happen automatically.
Hooray, this thread is finally active again! I just did a system jump, only way I can switch them is by going down to a planet and calling one in
Swapped my ship in a space station for 40k, didn't realise it had an upgraded Hyperdrive on it. Ended up jumping to a system too far away from where my friend could jump to. Had to fight off a few ships before I could farm the antimatter to meet friend half way. Got myself a giant frigate thing though.
And here we see the majestic Sonicus Retardus in its natural habitat https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/1717/5d98fe1c-bb2e-4097-af93-9f0c8475149a/20180728160952_1.jpg Got quite startled seeing this massive fleet just warp in, it was like a Michael Bay film for a good minute or so wot with all the flashing from the warp-ins. https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/1717/3c90deff-34a0-4cbe-9be9-3bf91f29a75f/20180728230953_1.jpg Later on, "saved" one of those freighters from pirates (really just helped defeat them quicker) and got a freighter and one tagalong science vessel after talking to the captain.
Nope. You can edit the save to delete the ship but that's it.
Here's the performance bullshit I have been unable to fix Look at that, 60 FPS, where I have it capped. Perfect! https://i.imgur.com/VZf42tu.jpg Then all I do is turn around to look at the other half of the station https://i.imgur.com/rK4r7Li.jpg No stutters, just that.
anyone know whats happened with trade commodities? i went to a scientific system to buy to sell to a trading system, but none of the market terminals ive been to (on a planet, in the space station) even sell any commodities.
It'd be neat if there were planetoid-sized asteroids you could land on
oh yeah some oc i made the other day https://i.imgur.com/UwxNijX.png
Could someone explain how the "assault a freighter" missions work? It doesn't specify what freighter to attack which is weird because it initially tells you to find the freighter you're meant to attack. Is it the first one that appears right after leaving your capital ship? There's a ton of them. Does it matter which one?
did the "GIVE_OBJ_MOTHERFUCKER1_QUEST" give it away?
I get those for every mission I do, thought I was actually because of the robot people but you're now telling me it's a bug?
I visited a blue star system and holy crap it has some of the coolest signs I've seen in this game since release https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/922/4a3b44f8-610c-476a-9182-2a357800dc65/20180728232729_1.jpg https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/922/a27f1f56-0ace-4059-93a7-783307ee4cfc/20180728213801_1.jpg https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/922/610beee3-8772-4e04-8a16-c21673101078/20180728220624_1.jpg
I visited a "Glass Moon" before that had these crazy looking bubbles and neon lights floating around. I have no idea why I didn't take a screenshot
So frigates are really cool but fucking broken as shit at the moment. Landing on them with my large-ish ship almost guarantees I launch into the void of space and die. On the odd occasion I can actually get my feet on the damn thing to repair it, I find myself blocked by semi-solid invisible walls everywhere, that sometimes launch me off the frigate entirely. Also, repairing them fucking blows. It's almost guaranteed multiple frigates will get damaged per expedition, and each frigate requires you seek out and repair four separate, sometimes expensive components. It is such a time consuming process and far outweighs any benefit I've found from expeditions so far. Plus, when they're damaged, the icon hangs around on your HUD like a total eyesore until you get around to fixing them. I don't mind having to land and check in with the frigate, but I wish the repairing process could be automated.
I went through a black hole and popped out infront of a space battle with a massive capital ship. I get invited on the ship after helping, and the captain asks me to take the ship. I say yes then its 76 million credits. So I can't buy it, but when I talk to him afterwards, he gives me the same dialogue as my ship captain and allows me to transfer capital ship items to my personal ship. What in the fuck?
"Ah, ya can't afford it? Take it free!"
I'm happy Steam denied my request to refund this game a couple years ago.
thats the thing, he didnt give me the ship. my old capital ship is still there.
Repairing frigates also seems pretty buggy... my one frigate got damaged on an expedition, but when I land on it it says "damaged components 0" or whatever and I when I take off it says I repaired it, but when I go to assign it to an expedition it says it's still damaged. Not sure what to do about that.

fucking dosh
Yeah repairing frigates is way too annoying right now
How does one actually go about farming now? Wiki is completely out of date at the moment.
is there an easier way later on to get pure ferrite? the base components seem absurdly expensive
