I fail to see how KF is scary.
the server browser scares me the most
Eh, I don't see that much of a problem with the server browser. Just favorite a bunch of servers and stick to them and you don't even have to use it that much.
Also if anyone needs help with transit I'm up for a few games.

What's scary about it? Maybe I'm just desensitized to it, but.. I mean I've been playing this since it was a UT mod, and I was fuckin' young then.. It's not so scary :(
Do you guys think being a level 3 commando is high enough to start playing on hard servers?
Do you guys think being a level 3 commando is high enough to start playing on hard servers?
I don't think so. Personally I think Commando isn't that useful of a perk, sure you can see stalkers but imo Support is a better trash clearing perk. Granted you should be fine regardless of that if the map isn't that hard or your team is good but in the worst case scenario I think you'll have a hard time.
Well, Commandos can see Patriarchs when they are cloaked too, so....there's that

The only reason i go for commando these days is when i wanna clear trash mobs and hunt the Pat with the ZED.
I mainly stay as a Field Medic or Zerker depending on the situation because nobody really picks the latter in the public servers.
You can be surprised though, when they are both filled roles i can be a pretty mean Firebug.
Choosing a Class for me is like taking a look at the scoreboard, seeing who is doing what and seeing where i can be constructive in the team.

I do the same thing
Seeing 3 sharpshooters or 4 demomen infuriates me

Some perks on lvl 3 can be used on hard while others requires to be or lvl 4or lvl 5. Commando is good on lvl 4, since the weapons are going to be waaay more cheaper. Support, Sharp and Medic are kind of perks that are quite of good on lvl 3 already
I like using shotguns, but I can't stand how every time I fire my weapon the screen shakes in a way that's like my eyeballs are jostling out of their sockets.
Level 3 Medic you should be on Hard imo, its just a better way of getting the HP you need to level up.
Commando might actually be more useful if you could actually do damage to scrakes and fleshpounds. Fucking feels like you're shooting pebbles instead.
That or I'm just total shit at the game.
Commando might actually be more useful if you could actually do damage to scrakes and fleshpounds. Fucking feels like you're shooting pebbles instead.
I always keep a fully loaded automatic weapon on standby in cases like that.
I'll use my semi-auto scar to take out any trash mobs, if a tougher threat comes along i'll swap quickly over to my loaded FN FAL and blow a Siren before she can scream for example. Its quite handy if you get ambushed or surrounded too.

You're not shit, it's just that commandos are built for dealing with small zeds in huge quantities. They have the most ammo of any trash-killing perk if they're packing 2 assault rifles which makes it a little easier to deal with 10-minute HOE waves compared to the firebug, sharpshooter, support, etc. If you're playing on the appropriate difficulty, pretty much the only way to kill an FP is to deal damage, break LOS, repeat. For scrakes all you can do is wittle them down and then spray them when they charge.
And I'd say if you're bored with normal, just go play hard. No one's going to get mad at you.

the point of the commandos is for cleaning up gribblies along side the support specialist. large targets are priority for the sharpshooter.
What's zerker's purpose? I've always wondered if I've been using him wrong.
What's zerker's purpose? I've always wondered if I've been using him wrong.
To Tank Hits and Stunlock.
Literally my favorite part of being a Zerker is the efficiency i have when executing scrakes.
It gets much more intense on higher difficulties and you rely on your healer a ton more.

The Berserker has the ability to kill everything except for the Patriarch, even on Hell on Earth difficulty.
The Berserker can annihilate smaller Zeds with the katana pretty quickly whilst the fire axe can be used to kill a scrake by stunlocking him repeatedly with the alt-fire and a fleshpound via careful kiting. The berserker's damage resistance, speed and no need for ammo means that he can go at full efficiency throughout long waves on Hell on Earth.
Well, looks like I was using him right all along. I love fucking up scrakes.
As much as I love automatic weapons, they just seem to do no damage later on. Also, the firebug does the exact same thing with more efficiency so I question commando's purpose.

1. Tanking and kiting, first always and mostest
2. Trash removal, saving ammo on demo and sup and xshooter for the big stuff
3. Last man standing, the zerk does low damage, but the damage is consistent and can carry a wipe
4. Emergency drive-by medic
5. being awesome
in that order.

I personally prefer to just use the claymore instead katana+axe because it can do both of those effectively. Isn't it technically better to have one weapon for that instead of two?

Nay. The rate of clearing on commando is amazing, as long as you have awesome aim. The FB is about crawling global DoT and fucking up zed specials, wiping a spawn is the commando's job, you simply have to be good at it, and have very very good situational awareness and aim.
Also, for some reason, I was just emailed the PCgamer code for my 'subscription'. I have never been subscribed but I'll take it.
beat transit on hard
my team died two times on the pats
that was way fun and hard
And guns with high mag capacity + rate of fire are great against hordes of zeds. At Level 3 a Bullpup is great for hordes because it has a 50 round magazine, and a rate of fire where you can still do damage.
Zerker is a pain in the ass to level. Seriously 1.5mil to reach level 4? I can still barely afford zerker weapons at this point.
I have Level 2 zerker because I absolutely hate melee fighting in KF.
The only perk I've really worked on is Sharpshooter because it fits my playstyle the most. The others just kinda fell to the wayside.
