Is it just me or is mic quality really really bad? It sounds like the adults in Peanuts whenever someone talks.
KF's sound quality has always been shit. One of the devs even said so in a post on the official forums a day or two ago. Killing Floor 2's sound quality is going to be way better from what they've stated.
This is incorrect. Specimens have one head hitbox, and it's attached to their head. You can visually confirm this with Benjamin's specimen collision viewer mutator
Thanks for that mutator. I used it and you're wrong. I can still hit them above the visualized hitbox. Now even I managed to hit their heads while they weren't even trapped by invisible walls and in a official map. I can upload a horrible quality video if you don't believe me. [editline]10th August 2014[/editline] I used cheats like "loaded" and "ghost" to make it. I don't think they can affect hitboxes.
But hasn't the Scrake headbox always been broken and slightly above his head?
I think a video someone posted here earlier showed that grenade stunned scrakes have their head hitbox floating off to the side a little too
That's what happens when you use mic tech made in 2003, back when UT2k4 was being developed.
Exactly. The new engine is using a highly edited version of UE3. (I'm guessing you already knew that, though.) Exactly why I am super hyped. Killing Floor is way too dated.
can't you aim without sights?
I can do it as easily as most people, but that doesn't mean the aspect of actually using the sights can't be improved, y'know? [editline]cunts[/editline] I mean, just because people know how to aim without them doesn't mean they should just be left alone, staying run-of-the-mill average unlike everything else that's supposed to improved in the sequel.

Killing Floor is way too dated.
Even though UE2 is really old and the devs are pretty much reached its limits, I still get a kick whenever I see things like the UT2k4 options menu layout and the "Translocator enabled" option in the server menu in KF. It's amazing that what's basically a heavily stripped-down UT2k4 with a giant mod placed over it has over 2,000 players daily in 2014.
Those dirty sluts are teasing us with the scrake A video for a single zed, he must be hardcore as fuck now if they are waiting this long to show it
i kinda hope they rework him, i always felt guy in apron with chainsaw hand didn't really look like an experiment - at least the fleshpound was explained, the arm things being containment devices

You can visually confirm this with Benjamin's specimen collision viewer mutator: The real discrepancy you need to compensate for in regards to head hitboxes occurs when playing on-line in dedicated servers. Due to lag and some quirks of the engine, a disconnect between the visual position of the head and the actual location of the head hitbox is not uncommon:
this makes a lot of sense now explains why i can never get headshots when enemies are trying to jump over something i usually just wait until they come out of stun to do another headshot, it's more consistent than trying to deal with fucked up hitboxes.
You know what I want in kf2? Some kind of friendly fire between the zeds. Imagine this, you are fighting a wave of zeds and suddenly you hear an horrific roar. You look to your side and you see a fleshpound running at you, goring every clot on his way to the air, arms, legs, bodyparts and blood flying around him. It would look really cool, especially with the new gore system

There is already friendly fire.. like one of the first achievements you get playing your first round in KF is "It's not easy being Greasy" [editline]11th August 2014[/editline] You don't even try to get it, it just happens :v:
Or the fleshpound running through other zeds [editline]11th August 2014[/editline] Or the scrake vs FP battles
husks as well
i kinda hope they rework him, i always felt guy in apron with chainsaw hand didn't really look like an experiment - at least the fleshpound was explained, the arm things being containment devices
The scrakes were explained. They were supposed to be medical doctors in the field. That's why their skin is made of a leathery texture, as they had to soak up as much bullets as possible to do things during heavy gunfire, ect. EDIT: From the wiki -
The original story behind the Scrake is that it was designed to be the perfect field medic, able to take hideous amounts of pain while working on their patients in the field. While it was considered success because the Scrake could take an absolutely astounding amount of damage, it was considered a horrible failure at the same time. He could only learn by having wounds inflicted on himself, and much like the Gorefast, he became quite interested in pain.
I hope they will make them say stuff and not just angry sounds.
''i like trousers'' -scrake ????
''i like trousers'' -scrake ????
me too
''i like trousers'' -scrake ????
hur hur hur
I'm surprised no one has ever ported UT2k4's CTF-Faceclassic to KF. I know it would play like shit, but not having CTF-Face in a game that has several UT2k4 ports already is kinda weird.

I still want to see that blade runner map though.
You will learn to hate them on open maps with no cover. I didn't even know that husks could set off explosives until I threw a single grenade once in kf_defence and instantly exploded because of a husk fireball.
picture this, suicidal biolab shits getting real, support is down, commando is out of ammo (???) and I'm demo, the other 3 are struggling, I'm running LAW because fuck the police. I see about 30 zeds coming around the corner and out surviving support is mid reload, the commando is sucking his thumb and the two other guys are welding a door, I decided "It's fucking time" and back around the corner, I place the rocket so it'll smash the zeds virtually touching me, but with my proskills I time it so I'll fire JUST as I round the corner, avoiding splash and laughing at the ugly nonces. Betwixt my rocket and my foes however, something is amiss. My dead support buddy mentions it post mortem, at the end of the corridor, a husk was preparing a fireball for my catatonic commando. The fireball sails through the air, I aim down the LAWs sight, the rocket leaves the barrel, the fireball has reached the crossroad now. In midair, the LAW rocket slams into the unlucky fireball, both detonate instantly, I'm killed by the blast immediately and the commando catches fire and switftly burns to death, the remaining two players are eaten by a scrake shortly after. In short, what the fuck.
I didn't read the quote on that post and about half way through I though you were going to say you were in giblets thanks to a stalker. The only thing stalkers seem to be good at is making me a suprise suicide bomber if I'm ever playing demolitions
hur hur hur
Its a lot more intimidating over all the loud noises and music and you don't hear the first part, I thought all he did was laugh at you like a maniac Nope, just really likes trousers
people who don't fear scrakes have never been last man standing on suicidal as a medic.
scrakes are more dangerous than fleshpounds for me
Scrakes are easy compared to fleshpounds.
Scrakes are piss-easy when you have an AA12. Even a 9mm can drop them quickly for me.
Scrakes are piss-easy when you have an AA12. Even a 9mm can drop them quickly for me.
Everything drops like a brittle brick on Beginner Mode.
Normal. I am not high enough to play Suicidal or Hell on Earth. But I can play hard.
