The Medic perk is along with the sharpshooter perk the easiest to level up. Just heal everybody. It was the first that reached level six for me.

It's hard to level up medic when people heal the 2 hp they're missing while you're sitting there at 26 hp from tanking the fleshpounds for them
[editline]26th May 2013[/editline]
It's almost like there's practically no point in having a medic since the spoiled shits will heal themselves

I told her I'd make something of myself!

Who is he referring to? His wife or grandmother?
Who is he referring to? His wife or grandmother?
His wife. On the original plot, he killed her when he put her on a room with a siren.
Apparently in the old story, his wife was a singer who was trying to get better, so he made a siren, a messed up clone of her, that would sing with her to help her train. She hated the idea, so she got left in a room with a siren.
I had no idea there even was a proper backstory in Killing Floor
Was that even official? I thought that was just a really good fanfic.
Holy god you people.
Yeah, there's a backstory.
The patriarchs real name is Kevin Clamely, He was a jack-of-all-trades for villainy (had like 120 PH.D's including biomedical engineering, quantum mechanics, genetic engineering, Management, and financial application) and worked for the Horzine company which was a two-faced mega-conglomerate.
On the surface it was a pharmaceuticals company, underneath, it manufactured super-soldiers for the military.
One day, the patriarchs son was murdered (can't remember who, can't remember why) and he went increasingly shithouse crazy as the days went by, trying desperately to clone his son to have him back. We know these clones as: Clots
As mentioned above, the patriarchs wife wanted to be a singer. She sucked. The siren was invented to help coach her, yadda yadda, she is now dead.
Military started becoming increasingly wary of Clamely due to how unstable he was becoming, so they decided to get rid of him. They sent a group of local police and military commandos to go either arrest him or kill him, whichever the situation warrants.
Guess how many of those soldiers and police officers came back?
Honestly, in my opinion Demolitions is a completely useless class exactly because of the smoke.
I mean come on, tone it down a little.

I like playing Firebug because the Mac10 and Trench Gun are so fun to use, I rarely ever touch the flamethrower.
A little trick: Edit the smoke particle effects.
Works quite nice if you are playing with friends and they feel like going demo.
Also, with the original story, one of the first characters you can play as (At release) is actually a Horzine clone.

Killing Floor's serious tone is offput by the silly voice acting

Also, the Scrake was supposed to be be a Medic clone.
Due to every zed/zombie making corperation being like Umbrella, they were of course idiotic enough to fit it with a bloody chainsaw, because every Medic in existance uses it to heal wounds, or at least, that was what they seriously thought. Given that their earlier project, the Gorefast, got an obession with causing pain, something tells me that everyone involved with the zed making project had butter for brains.
Started playing this again after not playing it for a year! Forgot how enjoyable it was.

Obviously the chainsaw was for maximum surgery efficiency
why cut one person open at a time when you can saw open as many as you want?

The stalker was supposed to be a stealth operative, because... well duh.
The husk was meant to shoot down aircraft/smoke out buildings
The clot was just patty trying to get his boy back [sp];-;[/sp]
The siren is a clone of his wife, oddly.
The scrake was meant to be a combat surgeon who could withstand a shitload of punishment and keep treating soldiers.
Oh and this is what the crawler used to look like
[t]http://kf-wiki.com/images/5/5e/ZombieCrawlerV2-5.gif[/t]
Theres also at least 3 Horzine employees you can play as.
The husk was meant to shoot down aircraft/smoke out buildings
The Husk doesn't have a backstory as he didn't exist in the mod days. The Bloat, Stalker, and Crawler also don't have any surviving backstories either (aside from the Crawler's obvious bug-like appearance). Take the backstories you know for the Gorefast, Scrake, and Fleshpound with a grain of salt as they've all been reported secondhand by this guy who was paraphrasing what he could remember from the original, long gone Killing Floor mod wiki.
And just for fun, have some links of the ancient Killing Floor:

So... For some reason my mind keeps drawing parallels between this backstory and Citizen Kane... Especially with the singer wife...
Killing Floor confirmed as Citizen Kane sequel.
In case anyone is interested, I've been working on a wiki for the mod version of Killing Floor. It's not complete, but it's good enough for navigating. There's pictures and stats so you can see what's different from KFRetail. It includes pics from the first version that had real zombies, and the enemies in the latest version.

BTW, the Stalker page is NWS. Don't say I didn't warn you. >_>
I'm working on swapping out the killing floor soundtrack with the soundtrack of Hotline miami.
It works so far, but I need to tweak it a bit more.

Overhead perspective mod for KF please.
I think Support needs to have an automated defense turret.
There's still quite a few things Tripwire could do to make KF better. Some of my ideas are:
*There needs to be actual level filters for difficulties. IE, if a moron tries to hop into a Suicidal game as a level 1 Firebug, it autokicks you. I know there's a mutator that does this, but this should be standard issue, not something you have to find on your own. It would help make Suicidal and HoE more playable. It can be disabled if someone wants to run a server where a group of intelligent level 2s take on Suicidal.
*An actual tutorial, not some tooltips that appear in your first hour of playing. The game badly needs a way to show how to do things like kill a Scrake or Fleshpound.
*Try to steer newbies to using weapons their perks support. For example, if you're Firebug, weapons buffed by it have a special background along with appearing at the top of the trader's list in order to encourage them to try the weapons with the shiny backgrounds first. It would help reduce the idiot Commandos trying to hack things to death with the Dwarfs Axe.
*Make grenades worth a damn if you're not a Support or Demo. You're better off farting in enemies' general direction than tossing a grenade as the other perks in high difficulties.
*More woman skins. A Stalker, chavette, a lower class Indian wife, and a well to do Tory woman are some Englishy (or KF-like, in the case of the Stalker) women models that would work. They hinted that we'd be getting more women skins, but instead we get the fucking sexbot.
*Make the server browser be set on Normal by default. One of the reasons why underleveled people are appearing in high difficulties is because the server browser is set to "any difficulty" by default.
*Unfuck the M4/M203. It is a complete waste of money because it is the shittiest assault rifle in the game, but costing way more. Greatly reduce the price and make the M4 controllable if you're not Commando.

you know i bet Killing Floor could have been a really serious, vaguely cyberpunk/biopunk dystopian setting if not for the ridiculous voice acting. i mean, you got a pretty decent setup with the backstory and everything. and it's not like TW can't do serious shit, especially when they're the guys behind PTSD Simulator 2012, aka Red Orchestra 2. but because the characters are impossible to take seriously solely because of their voices, you get this lovable silliness that completely destroys any and all serious atmosphere. it's great
