Wait, They're gonna bring back Steampunk Foster again?
Soo Summer Sideshow is nearly here, time to finally get steampunk Foster
Knowing Tripwire, they'll instead release the stupid top down game they're making for the OUYA and say its their summer event.
An ode to my favorite game of all time.
Killing Floor, oh how I love you Killing Floor.
You are the game where I can meet a group of random strangers and either grow to love them or hate them in only 10 waves of mutant flesh eating zombie clones.
The game where I have the choice of using a combat knife, an assault rifle, a crossbow, or even a flamethrower to mow down my deformed enemies en masse.
A game that lends itself so well to smooth jazz, despite having an original score comprised entirely of metal.
The only game that I've followed closely enough to complain whenever my favorite weapons get nerfed or buffed following patches.
A game that involves the killing of literally millions of enemies to level up, but never feels like grinding.
A game that in truth is incredibly repetitious, but never seems to get boring.
An experience that seems to get better and more subtle as time wears on, much like aging a fine wine.

I'm still super disappointed that Project Calamity was a fucking Ouya game. Seriously?

Tripwire loves making brain-dead decisions.
I launched a rocket from a LAW i had bought at a pair of FPs, and a husk shot my rocket down before it hit the FPs. Anyone ever have that happen before?
I launched a rocket from a LAW i had bought at a pair of FPs, and a husk shot my rocket down before it hit the FPs. Anyone ever have that happen before?
That's pretty crazy. Sort of like two huntsman arrows hitting each other in TF2.
Husks are massive assholes, best part about them is that Sirens will destroy Husk fireballs with the screams they make.
And I love how one of the instincts of KF players is 'If you cannot see the Husk, and you hear the Husk firing, jump everywhere.'
Speaking of both Sirens, although it usually won't happen without server mods, a Siren's scream will destroy a Patriarch's rocket.

I've managed to destroy Husk's own fireball with a grenade before many times, but fuck them if they manage to blow up my grenade right at my face as I fire it from my launcher.
What level of Sharpshooter do I need to one-shot Fleshpounds with the M99?
As a Sharpshooter level 4, I've screwed myself over so many times. I aim for the head, fire, but the thing comes raging at me

you only can 1 shot them on certain difficulties I thought?
This may or may not be related to Killing Floor:

The reason I am sharing it is because I wouldn't be surprised if it is the Summer event for this year.
you only can 1 shot them on certain difficulties I thought?
From what I have been told, you can do that even on Hell on Earth, as long as there are no more than 4 players
never seems to work for me, tough
This is one of the questions that I have. We already have enough weapons to make every perk useful agaisnt all the zeds and the patriarch.
Considering that the Summer event is along with the Christmas event the moment when they add new gameplay features, aside of a new map, what could they do new?
A new zed is already discarded, due the difficulty of making it balanced, but, what if they made it?
I've just recently been getting into this game with my group of friends. I'm mainly playing firebug, but I have a lot of questions about how the weapons work.
Like, how do I make the most of the fireball launcher? If I shoot something multiple times with fireballs, it does more damage, right? Because it seems like I have to shoot gorefasts 3-4 times before they die, unless I charge up and waste more ammo. Is it sometimes better to just stick with a trenchgun? Also, what's a good backup weapon to buy with the fireball launcher? I feel like I should use up those remaining slots in my inventory. Oh, and a similar question about the flamethrower: If I continuously burn one enemy, does it do continuous damage to them? Or am I better off just lightly toasting everything, softening them up for my teammates to kill? Also, how do pipe bombs work? I've noticed when playing with randoms that it's a common strategy to buy a shitload of pipe bombs right before the patriarch and lay them down all over a small area. Are they motion-activated, or are they remotely triggered somehow?
I'll probably have more questions but that's it for now.

Motion activated, based on a specimen's weight.
For example, a Clot / Gorefast (the zeds you will be fighting from the first waves) alone will not trigger an explosion, whilst something bigger and heavier like a Bloat or a Fleshpound will trigger the explosion

shoot to remote trigger
has it's advantages at times.
Like, how do I make the most of the fireball launcher? If I shoot something multiple times with fireballs, it does more damage, right? Because it seems like I have to shoot gorefasts 3-4 times before they die, unless I charge up and waste more ammo.
Think about how does the Husk itself. It does more damage by charging at maximum. Also, is only good for big zeds like FleshPounds or the Patriarch.
Is it sometimes better to just stick with a trenchgun? Also, what's a good backup weapon to buy with the fireball launcher?
The Trenchgun deals a lot of damage on ONE zed (in fact, is more useful with the support perk, since it allows you to penetrate enemies while burning them), so, if you are going to run over all the map, buy it.
As a backup weapon for the firebug, I always carry the Mac-10. Under this perk, their bullets are incendiary, and has a great precision if you switch it to semi-auto fire mode.
Oh, and a similar question about the flamethrower: If I continuously burn one enemy, does it do continuous damage to them? Or am I better off just lightly toasting everything, softening them up for my teammates to kill?
Yes, it deals a great damage, but unless you are defending on a room, you should use it a bit, so your mates can kill them all. You start getting money by setting them on fire. You are more of a support perk rather than an offensive perk. Remember that the fire and the smoke blocks the vision, so don´t annoy your mates.
shoot to remote trigger

Not only bullets can make explode the pipebombs. Explosions like explosives or the Husk fireball too (main common cause of self death with pipes, along with the rocket of the Patriarch). Sirens destroy it like any other explosive without making them trigger, so kill them upon sight.
Another question, which I guess is more general: Are the more expensive weapons always the better weapons? Or are there some cases where a much cheaper one is superior, or where two weapons of different prices are fairly equal?
Another question, which I guess is more general: Are the more expensive weapons always the better weapons? Or are there some cases where a much cheaper one is superior, or where two weapons of different prices are fairly equal?
more expensive weapons are generally much better than their cheaper versions in certain situations but weaker in others, while cheaper ones are less overspecialized, but also don't really do anything particularly well. keep in mind though that this game isn't super well-balanced, so some of the higher-tier stuff is still pretty much objectively better in every way. it varies a lot
And seriously, fuck whomever thought Flare Pistols being DLC was a good idea.
I feel bad when I use them
I've just recently been getting into this game with my group of friends. I'm mainly playing firebug, but I have a lot of questions about how the weapons work.

Because it seems like I have to shoot gorefasts 3-4 times before they die, unless I charge up and waste more ammo. I recommend avoiding the husk gun until you are a higher level firebug. It's just easier for higher level firebugs to make the most use of it. Stick with the flamethrower, mac10, and trenchgun for now.
Is it sometimes better to just stick with a trenchgun? It depends, as you gain experience playing the game you'll be able to see which weapon you're going to want based on the map, what perks your teammates are playing, how good your teammates are, etc.
Also, what's a good backup weapon to buy with the fireball launcher? I feel like I should use up those remaining slots in my inventory. Don't feel obligated to carry as much as you can, carrying more weight slows you down. It's slight, but it can make a difference when your team is on the run. For example, a firebug on mountainside might invest in only a mac10 so that he can get place to place quicker, mountainside is a huge open map that really punishes you for not getting to the trader before the end of the wave.
Oh, and a similar question about the flamethrower: If I continuously burn one enemy, does it do continuous damage to them? Or am I better off just lightly toasting everything, softening them up for my teammates to kill? Yes, it will. Different games require different plans of attack though. If your team can't do shit, take advantage and start hosing shit down, racking up damage. If your team can handle themselves, you're better off just toasting things and softening them up. Avoid using the flamethrower on husks though, they have like a 75% resistance to it or something like that. Pull out your mac10/trenchgun and aim for the face if you need to kill a husk.
Also, how do pipe bombs work? I've noticed when playing with randoms that it's a common strategy to buy a shitload of pipe bombs right before the patriarch and lay them down all over a small area. Are they motion-activated, or are they remotely triggered somehow? They are motion activated. There is a certain threshold for them to blow up, a single clot or crawler will not set one off. Multiple "trash" specimens, or a large specimen like a fleshpound or scrake will set one off.
I'll probably have more questions but that's it for now.
My answers are in bold.
Coming from a level 5 firebug.

They are not exactly unobtainable though, if people ask me and give me the cash I'll always buy them one, hell i even drop them on the off chance from time to time. Many people do. Again shining a light on the community, i know plenty of players like myself who give their spawn weapons away to lower perked players so they can level up before the game starts.
Doesn't change the fact that it gives paying players a direct advantage over non-paid firebugs.
Doesn't change the fact that it gives paying players a direct advantage over non-paid firebugs.
I'd agree, if this was a PvP game, but it's not so i don't see an issue.
In general I just don't really like paid DLC. With some games it's fine, like the new Elder Scrolls and Fallout games basically just give you new optional missions, and most of the KF DLC just gives people new skins. But the extra weapons, displayed in the store with a DLC label on them, feel more scummy somehow. It's hard to explain.
I think even though it's not a PvP game, the fact that it's multiplayer makes it easier to see what you're missing, and it's easier to feel tempted, or even jealous. In a singleplayer game like Skyrim, you don't have to see any of the DLC content being withheld from you if you don't want to. Just don't pay attention to it on steam, don't look up youtube videos of it, etc. Your individual experience doesn't change when new shit is added, and you still have a complete single-player game. But in this game, the people who paid those few extra dollars are basically advertising the new weapons to you.
I'll probably (begrudgingly) buy the community weapon pack DLC during the summer sale, but I wish they would just make alternate ways to get those items. I like that in TF2, there aren't really any gameplay-affecting items that you can't get for free, and I wish this game had alternate ways to get those new items, like special achievements or something.

But i again stress, if you see someone using the DLC guns, Ask and ye shall receive. the buy screen on the game front page and in the trader menu yeah maybe hide them i guess
That all said, i think tripwire deserve your support and 89p or whatever it is just shows them their hard work is appreciated.
