KF was meant to be played with at least 3 friends imo.
It's really rare to be matched with good random players, when I figure my team is terrible, ignoring my advices and getting chain killed I either leave or try to carry the game by getting the most advanced weapons quickly. The latter has a small chance of making it to the patriarch, by then I just give out all of my money to my teammates and pray.
I usually get stuck with an army of dumbshits playing sharpshooter and using the flamethrower, who then immediately say "WOW THIS GAME IS FUCKING STUPID"
Is it normal to stay in one position in KF? When I play, I normally find it better to be constantly moving, then I can pick up ammo and extra weapons to sell later as I kill stuff, plus it's easier to avoid getting overwhelmed.
It's so easy to get overwhelmed because the spawn system in the game is so stupid. The base maps don't have it that bad but the newer maps always have a whole bunch of zeds spawning right around the corner. I had like 10 crawlers and some bloat come around the corner even though I just checked it 5 seconds ago.
I hope the chicken commando makes a return

I guess it helps that I'm rank 6 medic, if I ever get mobbed by a lot of specimens, I just drop a few of those healing gas grenades at my feet and leg it when I can.
Since the game is going to be going early access, I wonder if there will be a stat reset when the game goes live or something.. not that I want it or anything, just curious
They should expand on the storyline considerably.
I never understood wtf was going after the 2.0 mod release. The first version was zombies, which is understandable...but in retail version, were they just mass cloned mass murderers or were they carrying some sort of infection?

They were experiments, I believe. In some maps you can see Clots in stasis-chamber things.
It pretty much had a Doom-level plot. Specimens broke out, started killing everyone, you were deployed to kill them and take down whatever is controlling/creating them, AKA the Patriarch.
I wish more servers ran KFO/missions.

BioticsLab is where they're coming from, hence the map description

and I'm pretty sure Stalkers are being produced in Wyre.

Also new steam avatar because.. because.
There is an entire wiki page dedicated to what the outbreak was. In short, Horzine was doing testing on clones in the Biotic Lab found in London, and it all failed. The scrake was given leather skin making bullets nearly useless against them, and gave Fleshpounds /too/ much adrenaline, making them mad. They escaped and made it out and made hell on earth, essentially. Also, the person above me is correct; Stalkers are made in Wyre.
There's a surprising amount of lore on the wiki (or at least very reasonable speculation), like the origins/intended purposes of each specimen, and how the patriarch was one of the pioneering scientists on the project, now mutated himself and trying to protect them.
Speaking of the Patriarch, I wonder if he'll make a return in KF2
It'd be hard to one up the patriarch. Can't beat "one in the pipe!"
Considering he was the voiceover for the announcement trailer, I think it's safe to say the CEO will be making a return to protect his children once more.
man i miss playing this game, there was nothing like getting a group of friends and playing like clockwork on the hardest difficulty.
Speaking of the Patriarch, I wonder if he'll make a return in KF2
I would like to see other bosses in addition to the Patriarch. Could be level-specific, or maybe determined by something else. It'd just be neat to have more than one boss character, requiring different strategies to beat.
I'll never forget the one time our team all switched to zerker perk, surrounded patty, and killed him with our chainsaws. I've only done that once but it was good.
That was a pretty common strategy 'til they made the patty do that spinning melee attack. It made him way too easy, even on suicidal difficulty.
I wish more servers ran KFO/missions.
30th October's patch made so that both KF and KFO maps could be run at the same time on servers.
'KFO' maps now forcibly load the correct GameInfo. This means it's no longer required to change the ?game= commandline. Also, it's now possible to map cycle between KFO and standard KF maps.
If server is not running them both then server owner is just uninformed or lazy.

KF was originally supposed to be a singleplayer campaign, so that's probably where it came from.

hit it once with the knife to unrage it

Was it though? Even the KF mod was multiplayer, but on top of the wavebased ones there were those with a story and objectives to do.
Though, I think most of the lore in the wiki comes from the level descriptions.

Doesn't the fleshpound only get mad by himself if he has you in his vision for too long? IIRC you just have to break his vision every now and then.

Yeah, and doing too much damage in a short time will also make him rage.
Mk23 is the best pistol in the game

umm how much of this is bullshit? If not, I'm going to lose it

And now if you jump away when he does the spin you can fuck him up.
