I wonder if the Japanese version of Phantom Pain will be censored since they censored the Japanese version of Ground Zeroes.
How so?
I wonder if the Japanese version of Phantom Pain will be censored since they censored the Japanese version of Ground Zeroes.
What exactly was censored?
[sp]The surgery scene in the helicopter at the end of the main mission.[/sp] Here's a comparison between the western and Japanese version.
Weird. You'd think Japan would be fine with gore considering they allow this shit.
anime is censored pretty heavily too watch jojos bizarre adventure's tv recorded episodes and you'll see cigarettes being blacked out, any gore aside from minor cuts and large scratches being blacked out, etc.
Yeah. its the weirdest thing.
I actually kinda like the camerawork in the Japanese version more
Weird. You'd think Japan would be fine with gore considering they allow this shit.
that's pretty goofy and over the top though. that scene in ground zeroes was pretty brutal.
A couple weeks ago I was showing Ground Zeroes to my brother for the first time and got to the surgery scene, I warned him I can skip it because it gets nasty and he was like, "Man that looks so fake and low-quality" at the intestines. Then they began yanking and pulling the wound open to get the bomb out and you see the intestines bulging out of the wound and he just got unbearably squeamish in no time flat before calling it one of the most horrifying surprises he'd seen in a game in ages.
anime is censored pretty heavily too watch jojos bizarre adventure's tv recorded episodes and you'll see cigarettes being blacked out, any gore aside from minor cuts and large scratches being blacked out, etc. also note in the video how barely any actual gore is shown, its mostly blood spraying everywhere and discrete shots of a limb on the track also dvds can be uncensored videogames are weird (the enemies in mgr for example are only androids because they can just say the red blood is actually robo goo
Pretty sure the cigarettes in Jojo are censored because the people smoking them are underage
Pretty sure the cigarettes in Jojo are censored because the people smoking them are underage
Most likely, considering how Polnareff didn't get void mouth.
Pretty sure the cigarettes in Jojo are censored because the people smoking them are underage
Despite being built like tanks and obscenely tall. But that's one of many reasons to love JoJo.
Honestly I kinda liked that they stuck with the white blood in the JP version of MGR. Problem was they got it wrong and had the blood color from Raiden's (living) face wound match the synthetic stuff in his fake body too. Between that and the MGS 4 hud at the start those were great touches. [editline]2nd August 2015[/editline] And I've always assumed that Raiden's body was fake from the jaw line down but I also realize that really can't make any sense. I can't remember if he ever actually bled anywhere on his head in MGS 4 so who knows.
Also Apparently it made the fight with [sp]Jetstream Sam[/sp] more dramtic because up until now all the enemies would've bled white blood so when you get to that point and [sp]kill Sam, he suddenly bleeds red because he isn't heavily augmented and is still mostly human[/sp].
Does anyone have the comic with Quiet shooting snake's cigar and Ocelot wanting to give it a shot too?
Does anyone have the comic with Quiet shooting snake's cigar and Ocelot wanting to give it a shot too?
It was on the previous page.. [t]http://i.imgur.com/qu4OhD7.jpg[/t]
I guess I should have bothered to check I saw it way back and I wasn't expecting it to be posted again

He just takes too many shots to the head that would have splattered a human head
Honestly I kinda liked that they stuck with the white blood in the JP version of MGR. Problem was they got it wrong and had the blood color from Raiden's (living) face wound match the synthetic stuff in his fake body too.
No, it's not wrong. It wouldn't make any sense for the head to have different blood than the rest of his body, because blood is circulated into the head by the heart. Unless his body has a second heart dedicated to circulating a different kind of blood to just his head, then his head should bleed the same blood his robo-body uses. Keep in mind that Raiden's been running on synthetic blood since we've known him. At least, if "Campbell" is to be believed; Raiden is told that his body is using artificial blood and that it'll be circulated back into him after the mission is over...but that time never comes.
And I've always assumed that Raiden's body was fake from the jaw line down but I also realize that really can't make any sense. I can't remember if he ever actually bled anywhere on his head in MGS 4 so who knows.
It is fake from the jaw down (and his spine is still his real spine). He's shown with realistic skin later because after MGS4's events, doctors gave him a new robo-body with realistic skin, though you can still see the crease along his jaw where the real skin meets the fake. It's pretty sad; according to backstory, he had a lot of trouble integrating into normal life after they did this to him due to his unnatural jaw, which is why he was driven back into the military business. Shinkawa even drew a little art showing him wearing a coat with a giant collar to try and hide it: [thumb]http://img3.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20130224162005/metalgear/images/1/16/Raiden_Civilian_Family.jpg[/thumb]
It probably was his original head in MGS4 but he for sure gets it replaced by MGR. But he didn't, because his head is still real.
If that were true, then he would've simply replaced his fake eye with a new one after it got slashed. But he didn't, because his head is still real.
its been a while since I played rising but in one of the doktor codecs he and raiden talk about how they didn't have time to replace his eye so they had to give him a super neat eye sash afterwards they do replace his eyes
Even if his head is still real flesh and bone it should definitely be seriously reinforced otherwise his head would just fly off his shoulders any time he did anything, plus it needs to be at least somewhat durable in comparison to the rest of his body or there's no way he could survive; a piece of shrapnel piercing his head and hitting his brain is all it'd take to kill him, cyborg body or not.
or maybe its just an over the top scifi with ninjas and super fast vibrating samurai swords and a guy who's just magnets
or maybe its just an over the top scifi with ninjas and super fast vibrating samurai swords and a guy who's just magnets
That reminds me. Is the idea of a sword, or even just a blade, that is vibrated so fast that it becomes superheated and almost unbreakable even grounded somewhat in reality? The superheated part i can get but the whole, "it vibrates at such an intense frequency it becomes nigh-unbreakable and also doesnt fuck with the user holding" thing even possible?
I just always imagined the blade doesnt vibrate in the direction of the user in whatever the fuck way, since raiden and sam both use their hands with the blade when parrying
I thought the blade vibrated really fast to make it better for cutting, not to make it really hot
I thought the blade vibrated really fast to make it better for cutting, not to make it really hot
Thats pretty much what "being hot" is.
It's not just "good at cutting", the idea behind a HFB is that it vibrates so fast that the sword basically separates the electron bonds between objects, which is why it just cuts through things without friction.
Does anyone have a list of recommended reading to supplement the MGS series with? I've heard that it might be a good idea to read Moby Dick for MGSV.
I can't stop thinking about TPP and i am so scared to get spoiled :tinfoil: I wanted to ask, will it be "okay" if i start playing Snake Eater and then playing the first two games? Snake Eater really interests me
I can't stop thinking about TPP and i am so scared to get spoiled :tinfoil: I wanted to ask, will it be "okay" if i start playing Snake Eater and then playing the first two games? Snake Eater really interests me
It's worth it to play the first 2 games first or if you really want to do Snake Eater first, watch the MGS1 and MGS2 movies on youtube. There's a lot of stuff that refers to the prior MGS games.
