Well, I am so confused and excited right now.
I get the obsession with language - Without language, Memes can't be given shape and passed on, so people can't be forced to die for causes etc, but... goddamn... the shonky philosophy in the MGS games just got kicked up a notch.

Dank memes are universal
Dank memes are universal
Without the text, they are just pretty/funny/stupid pictures.
(But I was meaning in the MGS concept of memetic ideas)

yeah that's a big fucking difference
I kinda found it odd that when it showed horned BB with blood all over his face, his uniform was relatively clean (especially at the end before he punches the mirror)
Hallucination?

From what I understand, this trailer's discusses of ideas similar to memes. Combined with the song Sins of the Father (which plays everytime you use the Phantom Cigar), I'm going to guess that this MGS game is Big Boss trying to unify the world through memes.

Wait, doesn't this debunk the "Skull Guy is not real" theory?
[sp]Huey had physical contact with Skull[/sp]

Isn't that kinda what Gene also did in Portable Ops
well, minus the whole supernatural spooky ghost bits

Could be the reason for mirror punching, the blood is how he sees his sins or mistakes.

HE JUST [sp]MATERIALIZED OUT OF NOWHERE IS SKULL FACE A FIGMENT OF BIG BOSS'S IMAGINATION[/sp]
WTFWTFWTFWTF
Wow, I wasn't interested in Skullface, but after seing that... Holy fuck.
Full hyped now.
btw, could we see something more at E3?
Skullface is actually Randy Rose from the residents and Big Boss kidnaps him to do weird concerts for him.

Perhaps it's BB going bonkers and doing that himself while he pictures Greyskull doing it.

Yep, that is what I was getting at up above.
Two weeks of waiting after the game releases. Fucking torture.

Don't worry consoles will get it ruined for them too. Someone in a warehouse will get a copy early and leak all the spoilers online.
So better turn your internet off 2 weeks before September 1st.
At first sign of a leak or any kinda spoilers I'm not going to any website. I'm not going to be on the internet for like a month just so I can finish it.
I gotta wait three days to get the Collector's Edition shipped.
Fuck my life.

You think that's bad? I can't play it until the 15th thanks to religious obligations.
Ya'll mothafuckas think you're fucked?
I don't have a PS4 and my PC refuses to run GZ, and I have no money for the game even on PS3, let alone get a PS4 or get upgrades for the PC.

Surely you'd be able to scrounge up $60 by september?
I'm kinda unsure about some aspects of MGS2's plot. I know the typical response to this is usually "Kojima" or "Nobody understands MGS2" but I'd really appreciate some help. Spoilers to follow, obviously.
[sp]So, if I'm understanding this, the poor bastard Raiden got brainwashed into thinking he worked for a reformed version of FOXHOUND? For how long? And did I miss a few codec calls or was it way too glossed over? Was every aspect of it completely fabricated, did he once just wake up with memories of being recruited?
I guess that since his only real human contact, Rose, was an agent of the Patriots, she'd probably been gaslighting him for months to keep up the facade of him working for FOXHOUND.
My other main gripe is the S3 plan. Could someone really explain that to me in Layman's terms; I thought it would be better if it actually were a plan to turn soldiers into Solid Snake given his legendary status. The actual intention as I understand it is to gauge how to manipulate people based on the control of data, but the way I look at it that really doesn't require or necessitate replicating the Shadow Moses Incident at all.[/sp]

It was to recreate the shadow moses incident and make Raiden like Snake
Now even the conventional armies in the setting have mechs (can't seem to ID that insignia)

That's what Ocelot thought; but the Patriots themselves said that even a soldier as good as Solid meant nothing to them. Personally, I've always thought it makes more sense that they'd try to recreate a one-man army that eradicated an attack by their enemy, Solidus.

I don't think it's mentioned how long Raiden was being brainwashed.
The reason, IIRC, was because Shadow Moses was balls to the wall extreme, according to the Patriots. If anyone could go through what Snake went through and not crumble under the pressure, then they can do pretty much anything.
Or maybe I'm full of bullshit I haven't played MGS2 in like a year
