Metal Gear Solid - VIIII - A Hideo Kojima Thread - PLAY THEM ALL IN RELEASE ORDER - Games

I was thinking about how MG1+2 look so out of place now with technology and how small the metal gears are in comparison, but now I've thought of something sad- [sp]what if D Walker has to become the Metal Gear Snake finds in MG1 (and eventually upgraded in 2)? Getting to know this cute little bipedal robot before it turns into what is basically a distraction will be kinda heartbreaking.[/sp]

That FOB footage looks so fucking cool, I seriously can't wait for this game, its probably my most anticipated game of all time at this point. The best part is that september 1st and 2nd are both days I have off work by sheer luck of the calendar. I need this month to hurry up and fuck off. :hypeisreal:

I don't know if I mentioned this to anyone but my buddy keeps getting deals from Konami to do some sort of promotional material because he does good cosplays to the point Konami contacts him [IMG]http://i62.tinypic.com/2samtg9.jpg[/IMG] (friend with wife in cosplay, some unknown asian people and independent asian dude) really random and not sure if it was mentioned in any gameplay videos but apparently he played a demo of MGSVPP and he was able to play the Afghan levels, and he did mention the soldiers have randomly generated equipment which in turn frustrated him because we do Soviet Afghan reenacting and the gear and guns were all over the place :v:

Say what you want about the latest trailer but between that and the Kojima approved gameplay my hype has been thoroughly rekindled. Usually I just post in here to complain about how the prequels fucked things up but I probably won't do that until after release.

I'd love to see more Metal Gear 1 references by the end, and as cheesy as they'd be it wouldn't be out of place. this is a really weird thought but watching all of the Gamescom shit seeing Mother base so unbelievably expansive and populated with hundreds of loyal soldiers sworn to big boss' cause all I could think was that one day it all gets undone by a fucking lighter and a can of aerosol

The wormhole seems really cheap. But oh man the hand of jehuty looks so cool, is it the same arm we saw that had "wisp" on it?

Two things that are kind of a let down: It doesn't appear you can salute your soldiers back, really wish you could. It seems most submachine guns are your secondary weapons, and you don't see them on your body, which sucks because the models look super cool. Would be nice if you could just have them as your hip weapon regardless.

all mother base needs to be complete is a sauna like in that one peace walker drama cd imagine having an intruder in your base and you find them just chillin in the sauna

I'll be pretty disappointed if showering is limited to using those stalls and there aren't David Cage-esque gratuitously long and detailed shower scenes with Miller and Ocelot

During the FOB sequence, the attacker (BB) has a grenade launcher on his sniper rifle and his non lethal assault rifle. We already know that a pistol grenade launcher is in the game, like the kampfpistole from PW. Ergo, we can now carry at least three grenade launchers on our person at one time.

The [sp] wormhole and jehuty arm [/sp] are really cool but pretty supernatural for mgs. I got to thinking though, it really kicks ass that we get to be the ones with the awesome supernatural abilities this time.

After all, this is the story of how Big Boss finally transitions into being a Metal Gear Villain, so it makes sense that we start to get all the crazy shit that seems to come with the territory of being a Metal Gear Villain.

Near the end you can see FOB defense troops wearing gas masks. I hope they're functional, with all these gas weapons and whatnot. From the vast amount of different things we've seen DD troops wearing it's pretty clear that we must be able to choose or affect their equipment somehow. I hope it's completely custom.

I wouldn't be surprised if that was the case.
