Whatever happened to gun cameras?
I wonder if they really showed off every tool or "security device" they have to offer for FOBs.
Seems like a gun camera would be a logical step between naked ones and the drones.
they showed gun cameras in a previous gameplay video
What a thrill ♫

Either that or nobody playing it as displayed in that mother base video - i.e. not using decoys, gadgets and stuff but just full on slaying everything which shouldn't be too hard if the gameplay from GZ is anything to go by. Sure, they would be punished for their lethal approach but it seems like an easy way of stealing resources. I mean, the only threat is the defender him/herself
You can see the resource bonuses on the right.

Every deployment costs some amount of resources, which I think is tied to your chosen gear. So if you deploy with tranq weapons, you'll have to spend your medicinal resources. You can see the deployment cost here, which is shown on the loadout screen.

TPP is actually a lot like a smart phone game. Constructing and gathering things takes real time (as well as the outer ops), and you have to gather resources to deploy on missions or construct things. The microtransactions will either give you bulk resources or speed the times along. It's already been confirmed by journalists that there's a mechanic to end Outer Ops missions immediately, and when they selected it, they were prompted to log into PSN. The first revolver takes 18 minutes, an early R&D platform takes 35, some of the Outer Ops can take over 2 hours.
I don't think the deployment cost will likely matter too much. It seems you get everything in large quantities.

I kind of doubt it, since they had a whole tree for them and they didn't scroll horizontally. No reason to believe gun cameras were removed.

You'll also note that the drone they showed was marked DMG, which makes one assume there's at least a ZZZ variant (if you look at the menu it seems that you can switch your FOB defense between lethal and nonlethal.)

Who's to say that the AI won't end up actually being a formidable threat? It still defends the FOB even if the player isn't present to assist. High level defenses might actually be quite difficult.

God damnit, I've been playing a lot of fallout shelter on my phone in the wait of both tpp and f4 and I'm fucking sick of the real-time waiting. I hate that feeling of wanting to play but being held back by some counter slowly ticking down - kinda like how you are forced to wait on your wasteland explorers returning in FS - it's not unusual to have to wait for almost 24 hours.

just beat MGS2 laugh at how bad i did

Well, it doesn't seem like time will stop you from actually deploying and doing missions or free roam. I don't think it will be that big of a deal, especially when MGO launches.
Late game Peace Walker is really annoying because you end up having to grind the same missions over and over in order to progress your development. Some times I wish that could have been real time. I would rather wait 24 hours than do 60 missions to unlock the M134.

didn't give me one for some reason

Ah yeah I'd have to agree to you about that - it'd been nice if you could speed up the progress by doing ops though. It's sad I never got that far in PW (got it from the ps3 GZ preorder) and now it feels like I wouldn't make it in time before TPP's release - how many hours do you think I'd have to pour into it in order to finish it before 1 Sep (bare minimum playthrough)?

Just to beat the story, you could probably do it in like one or two days. I'm saying it took forever to unlock the highest level, almost joke weapons. Peace Walker is my favorite released Metal Gear, I would go play it. The actual story isn't too terribly long, it's just that there's lots of sideops.
If you wanted to we could coop or something. That'll get you through the vehicles fast.

What are the MB coins? The micro transaction BS they were saying something about?
Whatever happened to [sp]Paz[/sp]?
I know [sp]she blew up in GZ, but she reappears again in TPP. Is she a clone or whaat?[/sp]
What are the MB coins? The micro transaction BS they were saying something about?
Gonna guess MB stands for Motherbase. So, Motherbase coins.
Likely for upgrades.

One of three things.
[sp]A clone, a hallucination, or Kojima being Kojima.[/sp]
What are the MB coins? The micro transaction BS they were saying something about?
Dunnknow. Microtransactions have been explicitly mentioned as time savers, and nothing else. I'm assuming that you will be able to get a FOB through normal play because of that, but time might prove differently. They weren't addressed by the video, they were just shown. Time will tell.

[sp]damn it kojima[/sp]

Normal upgrades, like building platforms, has been shown to be done with GMP (which you spend like currency, it's not a measure of your man power like Peace Walker) and other in game resources.
MB Coins are something different entirely. They do look suspiciously like a premium currency.
I'm sort of confused about the animal platforms. If the animals are restricted to only that platform, then how was there a goat walking around in that one gameplay video?

The fact they weren't mentioned at all isn't looking good either

Things change. The UI for this game has changed massively throughout the various trailers. The game is still being actively developed as we speak. They're going balls to the wall with the development time.
That being said, I can't imagine that you get the animal platform from the very start of the game, but that gameplay video you're talking about was immediately after a very early mission. It's possible that before you build it they will still appear on your normal platforms.
I wouldn't expect everyone's "floating zoo" fantasy to actually be achievable in the game though.
Maybe MB coins are something you earn as you upgrade Mother Base, so you don't go trying to make an FOB too early in the game and end up wasting time and resources because you don't have the GP to properly expand or defend it?
Who is up for making a PS4 FOB Defense force ?
Fuck, I love the facial capture technology they're using. Ocelot's reaction to BB's stench is amazing.
I can't believe it took reading a youtube comment for me to get that the posters are probably for customizing the girly images on the Cbox.
At least I don't have to put up with 3DPD on my pervert boxes.
What all can you customize?

Well actually, development should be wrapped up right now, with any other work currently going toward post-release patches (and MGO, of course, which I assume will just be patched in). We're less than a month away from one of the biggest releases of 2015 releasing across four physical platforms - the game's either going gold VERY soon or already has. They have to press and ship all those discs.
Was Solid Snake being a clone referenced in MG 1 and/or 2? Or was it only a thing in MGS and beyond?
[editline]6th August 2015[/editline]
Also was the setting of MG 1 and 2, Big Boss trying to Kill Snake?
What all can you customize?
Uhhh from what we know so far:
Weapon attachments, colors/patterns.
Your emblem, shows up on vehicles, MB, your uniform, etc.
The color and possibly position of MB platforms, but not the actual form.
The general layout of security measures on your FOB.
Something about your helicopter.
And then there are things that aren't really "customizing" but somewhere close to it, like researching different colors for your fatigues or choosing the loadouts for your buddies. Then there are things we're not sure about, like if you can customize the loadout of your troops around MB or not.
Someone on Reddit pointed out that they actually got Kiefer to say HAIDARAAA!!

It'll go gold sometime within two weeks. We would know if it has already. Copies would be out there.

[Sp]No. Canonically, Big Boss does tell Snake that he is his father sometime before MGS1. However, he only finds out about being a clone when Liquid tells him in MGS1. That's the canon as it stands now, but TPP might change that of course.[/sp]
MG1 and 2 was Big Boss doing what he's doing now, and Snake gets sent in [sp]by Big Boss[/sp] to stop him. I highly suggest watching movie versions of MG1 and MG2.
