I'm thinking of recording myself playing mgs5 and having no reaction to any of the fucking major plot points.
Would that be fun to watch?

Honestly, it would depend on what the plot points were.

Would you mind if I fiddled with your picture for your group and applied it to ours? I think I like it better than just the DD logo.

Shit I dunno. Might be. I had only had PC on my mind but I'll amend the extensive guidelines and include the other consoles on their too.
It should be a stylized PMC logo like Diamond Dogs :v:

If anyone has photoshop or something and a bit of artistic talent send em my way. Maybe keep it FP logo related, but don't feel obligated to that.
All I have is ms paint.
adding on to this, it's really hard to lose a helicopter. You can order your heli to pick you up in the middle of the base and the heli will suffer major damage but will survive. If you really need to shave off a few minutes for your S rank, try doing that.
Or just take all prisoners. Seriously, you can take up to an hour and still s-rank as long as you don't kill a tonne or get lots of alerts.
Just noticed something
the support markers out of peace walker kinda look like slimmer idroids

I know it's done to stop defacing, but if everyone keeps asking for permission it's probably gonna get hectic or will just turn people off.
oh yeah kinda forgot that you had to toggle that, you should be able to edit now

I saw an image with a bunch of the weapons and items cropped out of the videos. These were on it. I remember seeing these weapons in menus before but not equipped as they seem to be here. What video were they cropped from?

I started playing Metal Gear Solid the other day, finally jumping into this franchise (funnily enough, playing a few rounds as Snake in Brawl may have been what convinced me to finally pull the trigger). I've really been enjoying it, I just shot down the Hind from the rooftop. A few scattered thoughts:
- The stealth is pretty great, the top-down perspective makes it interesting and even though it's rough I still like sneaking around. I'm usually pretty trash at stealth games but I do enjoy them (Deus Ex: Human Revolution, the Arkham games, and Hotline Miami are probably the closest I've done to this). The gunplay is not that great, though - autoaim is weird for one - but you're not supposed to be in gunfights so whatever. Also boxes are excellent.
- I really love the codec system. I'm the kind of guy who will read all the books and go through all the conversations in a game so this is like crack to me. Even though Snake's alone most of the time you always have a good number of people to talk to. I also really like the illustrated portraits; looking ahead to other games I much prefer these to the models.
- I never played PlayStation-era games (I just played simple PC games until I got a GameCube) so I'm not really used to dem graphics. But the blocky style really is growing on me. I like the artstyle and they do a pretty great job of making characters 'act' when they often don't have visible eyes or mouths. It is unintentionally funny when something is supposed to be titillating but it does nothing for me because it's so blocky.
- The little fourth-wall gags are fun. I knew about Psycho Mantis but I didn't know about some of the other shenanigans like Meryl's codec number or Naomi massaging your arm after the torture. I also like how they shit-talk VR training as "playing video games".
- One of the things MGS is notorious for is cutscene length and complicated story... again I'm only partway through the first game but I believe it. I like that one codec line from Miller [sp]I got spoiled so I know it's not him but w/e[/sp] about how you never know when a long cutscene is coming up so be ready. I generally enjoy the cutscenes and the worldbuilding dialogue. The writing's pretty tight (any time I want to ask "why are you doing this?" Snake usually asks the same thing) and the voice actors do a good job, but sometimes scenes just come out of nowhere ("Do you think love can bloom even on a battlefield?" is a good line but I don't get where it comes from contextually). Apparently there are cutscenes in later games that are literally hours long, though, so I'd better buckle up.
Anyways I'm having fun. Wish I hadn't spoiled myself on so many of the side/world details, though. I don't have a PS3 so I'll be playing MGS2 and MGS3 on the 360 collection. Dunno what I'll do when it comes time to play MGS4, but I'll figure it out then I guess.

Hey, I like your style. Keep going!
you know earlier I was thinking the [sp]wormhole[/sp] was too over the top but then I remembered

and I asked myself if it really was out there
i kind of want [sp]a mgs1 remake where psycho mantis has wormhole powers[/sp]

I have Photoshop and Illustrator but no ideas, if someone wants to doodle or MS Paint something I might could touch it up or otherwise make it look pretty.
did anyone check out the new scoreboard from the hero's way demo? lot of new criteria, and it seems like kills don't penalize you anymore (aside from missing bonuses)

I like how they shifted from killing to neutralizing- it still encourages you take them out nonlethally, but you're not gonna feel bad for killing a few people and losing points.

Give a bit, one I get home I got something
Just to beat the story, you could probably do it in like one or two days. I'm saying it took forever to unlock the highest level, almost joke weapons. Peace Walker is my favorite released Metal Gear, I would go play it. The actual story isn't too terribly long, it's just that there's lots of sideops.
If you wanted to we could coop or something. That'll get you through the vehicles fast.
Sweet! I'll might get back to you with that offer if you'd be alright with it! However, I'm studying for a re-exam in 26th of Aug so it'll have to wait.
Don't worry mine was 4
:suicide:
Wow that really aches my heart. The ending is nice in its own, but it sure ment a whole deal to me as I played mgs1 as a little kid right after the EU release growing up with the series - even if some moments of 4 was a bit cheesy it was one hell of a emotional journey.

I'm offended d-walker doesn't have a bond level, I want to increase my social link with that robot.

Me too, I want to get a bigger boost when I fuse metal gear personas

Gave it a quick 5 minute shot before sleep. Can't be bothered trying to come up with a fancy name for it because when I tried "Facepunch Frogs" came into my head.
