Yes and that battle gives you the sneaking suit so you can go up to guys (and presumably hold them up) much faster and they won't hear you.
Sure, but right now the cheapest they run is about $450~$500 USD. And if they don't do another production run, then it's going to stay that way.
Shit, what? For the arm itself or the entire collectors edition?

Had to redo the background for the larger size. Going to sleep noww :dead:
Now that is some good quality stuff. I'd love to have this as a patch IRL TBH.

I just beat that one, funnily enough, and I think I'm gonna use it from now on- screw ammo on most missions, you really don't need it (unless you're on a car mission)
Also, did PW do the whole "enemies learn your tactics" thing? Because they're a lot more soldiers with helmets on now (which I feel could still be shot under)
I hope at the very least I can buy all the collector's edition weapons/outfits as digital DLC or something later.

No, they just realized that most people just get tranq gun headshots and made an enemy to counter it.

Entire premium edition. There's no place to buy just the arm because it's not even out yet. The arm is also the only difference between the Japanese premium and special editions, so I really doubt anybody will be selling the arm by itself any time soon. The premium package costed about $200 more than the special edition (for a total of about $300), so you're not going to find the arm any cheaper than that at the very least.

this game is fantastic.

Well that sucks. I'll probably just try and get my HAAAANDS on the regular statue then.
I just pointed it out in the News Node, but Konami's playing dirty with the system comparison screenshots. They're taking the comparing systems for those smaller bite-sized pics, and basically upscaling the lower-res system's shot to make it equal in size to the higher-res system (PS4 vs. PS3, XBO vs. 360, PC vs. PS4). Naturally when you do upscaling like that, it looks fucking ugly as sin, so on the left side you have a relatively clean picture in comparison to utterly awful scaling artifacts on the right side.
It's a minor deal in the grand scheme of things considering everyone knows the PS3 and 360 versions are gonna look like ass to a degree, but it's still technically unfair play to make things look worse than they really are. And it gets real stupid when they do the same thing with the PS4's 1080p versus PC's 4k.

I don't see how that's an unfair comparison. On most people's TVs, all of these consoles are going to be upscaled to the same resolution and thus the lower-res ones are going to be blurrier than the higher-res ones on the same display. They're showing you what they would look like on the same display.

Because of this I just learned how to get 2 tranq headshots in rapid succession, one for the helmet and one for the head.

Peace Walker is a game where you can use the infinite ammo bandana and gas grenades to silently tranq everyone instantly with no repercussions.
:snip:
Fox are you on amd? There's a post on steam forums by the devs saying the latest amd drivers crash gz
though by the time you get the specs for it thats kinda pointless
it also sucks because it takes up a valuable ration spot which means you can instantly die in some custom fights
That's why you set your items to 2-item switch, that way you just tap the button to switch to rations or curry.

yep, that did it.
feel mighty silly having gone through the steam forums already but completely missing the sticky, but if it weren't for this post i would've missed it completely, thanks!

Not entirely. Abusing the infinite ammo bandana is pretty much the only way that I see the custom vehicle missions get S-ranked with no kills.
If you're as good as some of the Japanese players i've been around, you don't need rations.

It's kinda shitty but the original shots are there if you want to do a proper comparison. It's entirely the media's fault if they grab the detail comparisons and only post those
Er, been playing GZ on Pc today, am I missing an aiming button?
Er, been playing GZ on Pc today, am I missing an aiming button?
Apart from using right click to aim, F turns on iron sights (if I remember right).
I hope if a friend comes to save your FOB, they get some sort of reward if they do it successfully. Otherwise it's just relying on the good will of others.
Alright, this is the first time I've played MGS2 enough to reach Arsenal Gear.
Time for nude Raiden hijinks and hoping this isn't a nightmare.
Managed to convince a friend to sell me the Phantom Pain key he got with his 970 (despite him purchasing it before the promotion). He was keen on playing it, but I convinced him that it wasn't the ideal place to start with the Metal Gear series.
So hyped for September 1st, hoping my PC handles it as well as it did GZ.
I started with Ground Zeroes (And Rising before that) and I don't feel like I've missed anything, it stands pretty well on its own
Convinced me to buy MGSL, almost finished 2 now
[editline]shit son[/editline]
Oh wait you said Phantom Pain, I guess that would be a bad place to start

You should buy him the HD/Legacy Collection in return.

Ground Zeroes only has ~5 minutes of story in it and Rising is a spin-off title, so it's unsurprising you didn't feel like you missed anything. Those of us who started with 4 had a much different experience :v: I got into MGS by watching my brother play 4 then buying the Essential Collection so I could learn what the fuck was going on.
Hope you don't mind me using the new Logo guys ( i love it ) can't wait to be a part of the Facepunch MGO squad :D

Kojima you clever bastard.
[sp]After experiencing it all myself in my first time completing the game, I figure the weird VR shit, especially with the RAY battle, was also part of Raiden's own perceptions breaking down alongside a representation of the player's. He was still inside Arsenal, but with nothing to truly claim as the reality he knew at that point, his mind represented the 'anus' of Arsenal as the VR arena from the end of MGS1 VR Missions because it was probably the strongest memory keeping him going at that point. Raiden's not in a simulation of literal regards, he's basically breaking down mentally but still working on the will to continue like Snake.[/sp]
Played through the Ground Zeroes mission again to collect the XOF patches and I just went and did it run and gun to where I discovered your silencer can break if you shoot too much. Is that supposed to be the devs trying to limit stealth or what?

That's been there since MGS3 to prevent players from abusing suppressors to silently kill everything in their path, yes. After all, in MGS2 the suppressor for the SOCOM is basically all you need to slaughter your way through enemy forces until end game, and the same with the suppressed Mk.23 nonlethally. There's a reason why the EZ Gun was so overpowered, stamina drain lowering aside. However, if you do run out of or unequip your suppressor in 5, it's pretty much guaranteed to bring nearby enemies to check out the noise; use that to make longer-range distractions in your favor if it comes down to it, because Magazines only have so much range.
good thing we can actually unequip our suppressors on the fly now instead of fiddling with the weapons menu or simply not having the option
[editline]8th August 2015[/editline]
there will be more ways to distract enemies in 5 now, including snake messing with his roboarm to make loud noises
I imagine knocking or creating noises like that are useful in their own ways. Magazines can attract attention to where you can throw to, noises at your location will draw them to you for hold-ups/CQC/circling around, and loud noises can attract enemies further off over and off their patrols for a chance to get around at the cost of caution alert phase.
