Although the MB video was great it still leaves me with so many questions.........how detailed is the FOB design, can i set where guards can be placed, can i set guard patrol routes, can i set guard equipment and tactics.....in an ideal world i'd design my base with multiple dual sniper teams guarding from high with heavily armored CQC and shotgun troops patrolling the lower, and also how detailed is the contsruction of FOB/MB can i design how it looks ( like can a place bridges and extra routes where i like or is it set in stone.
You should buy him the HD/Legacy Collection in return.
I paid him for it, and he plays exclusively on PC anyway. If he bothers to play through MGS on an emulator I'll lend him my 360 for the HD Collection, doubt he will though
i doubt you can place actual guards or plan their route they've said it's mostly stuff like what will be on the base (ie invest into cameras or drones or gun cameras)
Man, I want to play MGS 5 on my massive screen in my living room. I can do this with the PC and PS4 and play it with DS4 on both. But I kind of want it on the PC because it will look better and probably work better. But if I play it on the PC I'm at a disadvantage with my DS4 because everyone else is using KB+M. On the PS4 this wouldn't be the case. Gosh-darnit!
Guys, he shows that you can choose where guards patrol in the Mother Base video by selecting the area and how patrols. You probably don't path out routes yourself but you can tell them where to go.

So, you can't draw custom patrol routes or place objects in a 3D model like I believe you're hoping for. You just choose which areas to focus security on, and I imagine there are predetermined spawn points within those areas for the various defense mechanisms. We're not sure if you can choose the specific loadout for your defending troops, but what I can tell you is that in the video the defending troops were equipped with multiple outfits and loadouts. So it seems that you have at least some control over it, whether it's completely custom or a set of predefined options. This hasn't been shown in any video so far. The actual model of MB seems largely set in stone, however you might be able to choose the position of platforms. There's a bit of conflicting info on that. It also seems to change over time while in the processing of upgrading, as you can see construction being done in the videos. Things you fulton will also appear on the platforms, like cargo containers or anti-aircraft guns. If you look at the maps, you can see that every platform is divided into four quadrants. In the above image, the bottom left one is empty. My theory is that these quadrants change or develop over time, to have different features. So, the platforms are the same, but those quadrants will start off barren and gradually get more detailed terrain features to show progress. Pure speculation, but I couldn't help but notice that everything was contained in those quadrants, and that some were empty.

Though i'm getting desperate. I've considered buying a new console entirely, even though i've returned it a few times already, or buying a new TV stand for the living room (still an old CRT out there in an old entertainment center) so I could play it there.

I doubt it's the console if you've had multiple units do this.
How hot is your room that your PS4 constantly overheats? I doubt it's the console if you've had multiple units do this.
No, I know it's not the console. My room isn't hot. I've opened up the window on a -15F day in December and it still overheats, fan at max speed, with the console in a very open space. Something about the airflow in my room is inherently fucked. There's no way it could be 3 consoles in a row.

Did they overheat as soon as you got them, or did they each start overheating a little while afterwards?
My console isn't hooked up right now. I could draw up an MS paint diagram if you really wanted me to. It started immediately. I first experienced it while playing Contrast. It doesn't do it out of game, but eventually after starting a game the fan will accelerate to full blast. I can hear it outside the room with my door closed. This has lead to problems such as the iDroid map in GZ taking upwards of 30 seconds to load.
Do you have it on the carpet or something?
No. It was laid flat on a wooden desk with clear overhead (until the ceiling, obviously), about a foot and a half to the back wall, and at least 4 feet of open space in every other direction. I also tried turning it so the back faced a more open direction. I should mention that it seemed to run fine for 10 or so minutes when I hooked it up on my dining room table as a test.
MGS1 is probably one of the most difficult and frustrating games I've ever played (fuck that comm tower scene). It feels like you have to do things in a specific way to survive. I'm not even sure how I'm supposed to fight Vulcan Raven with only a few claymores and C4. I'm probably 100% fucked for Rex, too. [editline]8th August 2015[/editline] oh and the camera system is retarded

[editline]8th August 2015[/editline] oh and the camera system is retarded
Nikita Missiles are your best friend for fighting Raven, if you've got any. They make the fight really easy. Rex isn't that tough, but his first phase is kind of annoying because you have to constantly use chaff if you want to not get killed by homing missiles. Phase two is pretty easy and just involves staying out of his line of sight and firing stinger missiles. I'll agree with you on the camera issues though, gun cameras in areas where the radar is jammed is bullshit.

Even if I'm about to shoot him in the back with it, he'll instantly go on alert, turn around, and blow up the missile. And by camera system, I meant the game's camera itself, but I guess the camera turrets are annoying too :v:

He doesn't have eyes in the back of his head though, so it's very possible to get hits on his back. If I remember correctly, the best times to hit him are when he's just turned a corner or when he's spraying bullets in the other direction. It'll take some tries to learn the timing, but you'll get it. Also, I knew what you meant by camera issues, I was talking about when gun cameras are out of camera view until you're already in their line of sight, unless you're constantly switching back and forth from first-person view.

[sp]The part about the US is total bullshit, unless there's a canned sequence that happens to take place in America. 4Chan "leaks" have talked about returning to the areas MGS3 took place in, years ago, but that's an easy shot in the dark to take.[/sp]

Badly. I've heard they can damage PS4s themselves too.
