i'm so excited for the full game.
playing GZ just really makes you realize how it's practically an alpha compared to everything we've been shown of the full game
If MGS5 ends leading into MG1 then i'd love that or hell the last part of MGS5 you play as [sp] Solid Snake from the perspective of taking out Outer Heaven and Big Boss [/sp] leading into the story cycle
Wouldn't make much sense for Gamestop to lie, though.
It wouldn't make sense for a unaffiliated distributor to misrepresent the truth to sell products? [sp]Camp Omega is US soil. I don't even feel like I should be spoiler tagging this. We would have heard about it in the journalist previews at the very least. If the story wanders to those areas it will be very brief and probably not include gameplay.[/sp]
[sp]USA would make some sense though, BB's goal is to get revenge on Cipher/The Patriots who are probably in progress of taking over the United States by the time BB wakes up from his Coma[/sp]

[sp]Open world gameplay in the US wouldn't make sense. It's a dense, stable nation, not a warzone. Is Big Boss going to fulton the county sheriff and infiltrate the local safeway?
You can hear in the trailer that Cipher is doing work in Africa, which is a place where it would make sense for them to have a physical military presence of some kind. It's not like the Patriots were rolling tanks down wall street in 1984.[/sp]
[sp]I wouldn't be surprised if we spent a /little/ time in america, but I don't think the US will be one of the four open world areas 25x as big as Camp Omega. Russia is much more likely, I'd say, because the area mgs3 is theorized to be in (what is now known as Tajikistan, still considered part of Russia until the Soviet Union collapsed) is a stone's throw away from Afganistan, the map we start in. Knowing Kojima, a return to the area MGS3 took place is likely.[/sp]

[sp]Hell Kojima originally wanted to make Metal Gear Solid 3 open world but couldn't due to technical limitations so him revisiting that environment in an open world wouldn’t be to unlikely.[/sp]

[sp]I've read somewhere, dunno where, that Phantom Pain is the game Kojima wanted Snake Eater to be[/sp]
its made really obvious with the red band trailer which is just kojima shouting at you like "LOOK AT THIS GAME I WANTED TO MAKE FOR TWENTY YEARS LOOK"
[sp]considering the amount of remastered snake eater stuff from the beginning of the game, it wouldn't be too crazy to consider tselinoyarsk remade as a small open world space for tutorials[/sp]
[sp]Ehh, I dunno- the hospital intro (aka everything before Afganistan) is apparently an hour long, so I doubt they'd put that much effort into such a small amount of time. They're definitely gonna use flashbacks from MGS3 and PW for tutorials, though, that's pretty much a given.[/sp]
Well, I guess it's getting to the point where I go on a media blackout.
I'll pop in now and then, but this page looks like a declassified CIA document.
Just remember the live reading, I guess.
I, uh... I'm still taking voice auditions, I'd really appreciate it if more people could participate.

Yeah, that. [sp]Almost certainly the US soil talked about is Camp Omega. And Afghanistan is part of the Soviet Union at this point...[/sp]

[sp]Actually, it was just invaded by the Soviet Union at this point- it really wasn't apart of it, though I wouldn't be surprised if that's the area they were referring to[/sp]
[sp]A return to Tselinoyarsk would be pretty damn awesome.[/sp]
slight MGS4 spoiler and MGSV leak spoiler below
[sp]Like how Solid Snake returned to his first mission (as far as Metal Gear SOLID goes) in MGS4 to end his saga. Big Boss returns to his first mission to end his.[/sp]
Been playing a lot of GZ, why is this game so much fun to screw around it? Also, which of the missions is the best free-roam, the default one?
I like to screw around in the main mission for fun just coz it's raining and at night
Alright, I think with all the leaks coming out I'm gonna go dark. Things are getting a little too sketchy for my tastes.
very much spoiler watch out sons unless you read the story leaks about tpp earlier

Didn't that Konami guy claim all previous leaks were false just the other day?

You will soon come back for the Homoerotic booty. You know it to be true.

Okay, Darth.
I'm going dark around the 21st or if we get news of it going gold.
Oh Jesus I never realized that it takes momentum into account when you hit somebody. Running around as Raiden in Jamais Vu and cold-cocking people, only to send them flying, is incredible.
So because I don't have money or regular enough access to a playstation to play the games, I've been watching the MGS movies on youtube.
Is it weird for POOPs to give me a headache, even though I could understand the rest of the games' stories perfectly fine? Gene and FOX went rogue because Gene wanted to create a nation by-and-for soldiers, but it was a Pentagon plot to make the CIA look bad because the CIA was slowly gaining more influence in the Pentagon, but Gene actually wanted to create the soldier state but it was a Pentagon plan all along?
the previous magazine articles deffo hint towards it and i wouldnt doubt that kojima would do it
I hope it is true to be honest, sounds much better than [sp]just crawling through the hospital for an hour.[/sp] Imagine how many dipshits would quit the game there and then.
I love anytime anyone starts using spoiler tags someone says "this page has more blackouts than a CIA document"
It's like clockwork
Will you be able to play as any motherbase personnel e.g any of the soldiers you extract in Ground Zeroes on standard missions?.

I imagine whatever GZ rollover there is will be pretty limited. Whatever personnel you do get though, if they're not special characters, you can play as them.

Side missions yes, main/story missions probably not at first, it will most likely work like peace walker where you have to complete the mission as snake first, then you can do it as a DD soldier.
Does anyone know the font used in MGSV for the subtitles?
I wonder if I can do the FOB offline by ripping out my internet cables and just reap on the rewards.
