aw yeah, adding to my collection. Now I just need a PSP copy of PW, Poops, Poops+, PS3 MGR, PS4 MGSV:GZ, MGS3:3D, Essentials collection version of MGS2 and MGS1.
And one day hopefuly MG1 and MG2.
Of course, that's just canon stuff :v:
oh and this is a better copy of substance, my copy doesn't work + no manual so I needed a better one.
You know, something that bugs me about TPP that has done from the start, which I thought I'd get used to eventually, is Big Boss' ponytail.
I mean, it's sorta just... There. Everything else about his design has been talked about by Kojima but I don't actually think he's mentioned anything about it like he has with the tail-strap, the shrapnel, the significance of the bionic arm. Hell even the sneaking boots have had a feature. But the ponytail as far as I know has just been a design choice since the concept art. I feel like we're just going to set up for big boss' first mission after being hospitalised and he'll just have a ponytail as if it was normal for him to do that, without a cutscene of him putting his hair in a ponytail or saying why or anything.
I guess I could wear the bandanna if it bothered me that much (It doesn't, Big Boss just casually putting a bandanna back on after his whole moving on speech in peace walker probably bothers me more than the ponytail.) I just wish there was a way to just have his hair as the classic mullet, like in Ground Zeroes.
[editline]yes[/editline]
Actually, I've just realised something quite ironic about the whole moving on speech. [sp]In MGS3, Snake takes the bandanna from the boss, and the next time we see her without the bandanna, her hair is in a ponytail.[/sp] Could the ponytail be Big Boss Subconciously still clinging to The Boss after ditching the bandanna? :v: [sp]This is now headcanon[/sp]
This is a dumb thing you've said
What's more likely is he's in his fuckin' fifties and has too much hair
Have you ever had long hair? It gets all the over place.
Also it looks goddamn badass

I took the plunge boys, I'll be happy with the smaller size snake arm.
I was even lame enough to put a gift message on it for when it's delivered "kept you waiting, huh"
So ready for this game after seeing the motherbase gameplay. Was playing snake eater on my PS vita today and remembered how much fun that game can be to just screw around in.

I always loved the collectors edition boxart for MGS4

There's something weird with my PS3 HD Collection, seems the MGS3 Snake Eater intro cinematic is stuttery and loses audio for a second at points. Nothing else has done that in my playthrough so far. I hope to complete MGS3 and maybe Peace Walker before the end of the month, not sure about MG1 or MG2. Still lacking MGS1.

That's why I was happy when I saw it for relatively cheap :v:

I actually used to have long hair, a ponytail didnt help much at all, it'd help even less at big boss' length because you cant even get all of it in, so the strands at the front of your face still get all over the place. No to mention how it doesn't really look bad ass, it just looks like Big boss with short-ish slick back hair, and then they stuck a pony tail on it. I would much rather have Ground Zeroes' mullet. [sp]I mean, big boss would look bad ass no matter what he looks like, Just look at the chicken cap[/sp]
However it's something I cant change, but I thought I'd bring it up for discussion to see what others think, calling me dumb because a single design choice bothers me, due to it not really having an explanation, is silly.

you could use the GZ sneaking suit, kojima posted a tweet of him once in TPP and he looked exactly the same as in GZ. no ponytail, but also no scars, horn, or robot arm. then again, they may have updated it since then, so who knows
Oh man. That guy called Gray Bull. Seeing how the names are most likely generated, imagine if we are able to get gray fox :scream:
Imagine how happy you'd be to have your face used in MGSV then you start up the game and find out you're called "Bastard Hawk".
i've been noticing in some videos bb wearing a suit similar to snake's mgs 1 suit. what's the deal with that, have they disclosed how you obtain it?

Welcome to the club, brother.

I do hope they have updated it, and that it doesn't lock features like the bionic arm, that'd suck. I wouldn't want to use it over anything else just because it doesn't have a ponytail anyway, The battle dress, New Sneaking suit, and generic fatigues (even the naked camo) will all be used within my playthrough. I'll probably also end up using the bandanna as well, due to the infinite version of it that will eventually be unlockable for development at some point.
I do hope the patriot will be available in TPP, Being able to customize it with a silencer and other stuff will make it OP as fuck.
Also just to clarify, I don't dislike the ponytail, I don't think it looks bad on big boss at all, I just feel that it's irrelevant and that there's not really any reason for it. It's a small nitpick.

Knowing my luck I'd probably get something super lame like "wet goose" :v:

Its what the sneaking suit looks like for MGSV, to bridge V and 1 bug also to give us some sweet, sweet fanservice
SPOILERS FOR DEATH OF [sp]HUEY[/sp]

Names might be tied to rank now so in the event Frank is in the game he'll probably be a top-tier soldier.

I know I've said this before but the sneaking suit bugs me to hell. It looks sweet but MGS1's was designed to keep its wearer warm in an Alaskan snowstorm. Big Boss wears the 1984 equivalent in an African jungle.
So Chico isn't mentioned in any of the games that came before Peace Walker, how do you think he's going to die in TPP?
[sp]I think it's possible he dies in the helicopter crash since he isn't shown anywhere in TPP trailers unless we're lead to believe he's dead but now he's working for Cipher and BB has to kill him and it breaks his heart[/sp]

The design with the ponytail started with him having long hair after the coma, but ingame instead of giving him long hair, they just gave him his old haircut with a tiny ponytail

Decided to watch the Moby Dick trailer, was it as obvious back then? I remember people calling it instantly
I didn't catch it at first when it was shown at the VGAs, but I was watching on my TV so I couldn't catch all the finer details.
Nah, he's going to wake up one morning and find that his hair has turned bright white and stay that way for twenty years
Decided to watch the Moby Dick trailer, was it as obvious back then? I remember people calling it instantly
It was pretty obvious to everyone, but I kind of wished it wasn't Metal Gear. It just looked like an amazing survival horror game with a really cool premise.
And of course, the one Kojima horror game that would have saved the Silent Hill franchise gets shut down because Konami wants to focus their marketing on FUCKING PACHINKO MACHINES FOR MIDDLE AGED MEN.
Fuck you, Konami. Fuck your entire gambling division, fuck the board of directors. I legitmately hope someone bombs your headquarters, you sleezy fucks.
I can just imagine that [sp]Zero[/sp] created the [sp]Patriots[/sp] so he could facilitate the creation of VHS, then DVD, then Bluray, so he could sit around [sp]watching James Bond all day. Imagine wheelchair bound pretty much dead Zero just having James Bond movies on repeat wherever he is[/sp]

So wait, when [sp]Big Boss unplugged his "life support"[/sp] it was actually [sp]the power cord to Zero's built in cranial theater and then he went into cardiac arrest from the shock of his favorite movie suddenly stopping?[/sp]
Wow, that puts it all into perspective.

No, [sp]Big Boss just turned on A View To Kill.[/sp]
They should have given Naked Snake a bit of grey hair. War can be stressful.
He should already have dark grey hair, at least.
Or Reed Richards stripes if anything.
holy shit just finished act 3 of mgs4. What a ride.
I'm doing the Snake Tales in MGS2.
Can I just say? Whoever made these is literally fucking satan. An escort mission in the middle of a gunfight with infinite soldiers? This shit is even harder than the main campaign on extreme.
That said, the writing in these short stories is pretty cool. It all made sense as soon as I saw Tomokazu Fukushima credited as writer. I think it would've been rad if he continued doing non-canon MGS stuff.
i've only played the first 3, but snake tales are pretty cool, save for some small moments like that. my biggest issue with them was the lack of radar, but once i actually tried them it wasn't too bad
i really should go back and finish them, i remember looking forward to the 4th one since you get to play as pliskin i think
