ok im not sure if im just an idiot that hasnt paid attention but [t]http://i.hizliresim.com/DR2aoO.jpg[/t] theres a city in the background ??????? i thought mother base was in the middle of the fucking ocean or smth
That's not a city.
what the fuck is it that shit looks nothing like the rest of mother base
Yeah it does, it just looks like a bunch of pipes and pylons and columns or some shit.
Well, it could make sense. For Intrude N313, Solid Snake infiltrated Outer Heaven via underwater insertion. So it's possible that Outer Heaven had platforms on the coast, going out into the water, and they extended the base inland for the desert sections. Hybrid motherbase/land base.
Problem with that is that Motherbase was in the Seychelles while Outer Heaven in MG1 was in South Africa.
I'm sad, the collectors edition is out of stock at Game.co.uk and they said no confirmation of any restock yet :C, i'm still waiting till I get paid before I pre-order
it looks like a skyline with beacons to direct heli traffic, and it has the same movement to the camera as another rig off in the distance
Yeah, it has the same movement because it is on that other rig, which is another part of mother base.
What is the general consensus on the digital graphic novel? It looks like it cut down the story just enough to fit in 2 hours which is great, even keeping Master Miller in the process when usually I'd expect all of him to be cut out; his character only really works in the game where you genuinely require his assistance at points.
You should take the time to 100% Ground Zeroes if you liked it so much, very worth doing for the potential bonuses that it could get you in Phantom Pain.
Getting 100% in GZ doesn't necessarily mean you'll get all the bonuses for Phantom Pain. For example, it is possible to get 100% without completing all the trails, all you have to do is unlock them. It's also possible to S Rank the "Eliminate the Renegade Threat" mission on both normal an hard without extracting the targets. That means you can achieve 100% completion without getting the bonus of gaining Glaz and Palitz into Motherbase in Phantom Pain. Keep in mind you only have to complete the mission one time where you extract the targets to gain them to Motherbase, and that one time could be an E rank. All that matters is that you do it once, and completed the mission.
So after seeing gameplay of MGS:TPP at gamescon, I decided to look into the MGS series for the first time ever, after playing MGS:4 for a little bit, then reading up on the back story for a couple hours, all I can say is; HOLY SHIT, why did I not get into this series sooner? So, I preordered TPP on Steam, got Ground Zeroes with it, and I played it, and holy shit it is probably one of my favorite stealth games of all time, even though it took 2 hours to complete it, I still go back and just try and approach it different ways. Lovely game Very excited now for TPP. Still in awe how I didn't find about this series sooner.
Go through them all, from the 1st, all the way to the 4th, including peace walker. You'll be glad
I'm doing the Snake Tales in MGS2. Can I just say? Whoever made these is literally fucking satan. An escort mission in the middle of a gunfight with infinite soldiers? This shit is even harder than the main campaign on extreme.
To get the good ending, you have to do that part [sp]without Emma getting shot.[/sp] Have fun with that. Was it confirmed whether you had to 100% GZ to get all the TPP bonuses? Or are the only things you need to actually do just involve extracting prisoners and special soldiers?
I went a bit overboard with my revenge against all the marines
I massacred every single Marine (literally every one) in the Ground Zeroes mission and only had about 40 kills, is their spawn rate much higher on hard mode/other levels?

How odd. *[sp]I downloaded a save file so I had access to all the missions. I'm doing all the missions myself anyway, please don't kill me[/sp]

I completed everything (95%) exept S rank on hard, and i can't for the love of BB get it done... I'm only asking since it would be a damn shame to miss out on something because i suck at gaming v_v If it turns out you don't need 100% for anything special (other then saying you did it) i would be fine with 95%
Here's a fun GZ challenge: See if you can kill every single guard in the Destroy the Anti-Air mission without being spotted. Pro tip, if you are spotted do not kill any guards, they will request backup if you kill guards during a combat alert. I've done it, it's really weird to be on that base with no guards anywhere in full day-light. You can even walk in front of security cameras and the CP won't see you anymore.

Unless the Sneaking Suit does require 100%, I think that's about it. If you want a save file, someone posted one awhile back. It's more in the way of being on the safe side i would say *edit* Thanks for the link, I suspect i will need to extract all the personel again to be on the safe side
MGSGZ is so much fun, went to extract the sniper spotter team, I killed everyone in the area but those two dudes, one of them was walking around the prison area so I thought maybe I should save one prisoner while I'm at it so I drove a jeep with one of the already sleeping targets inside up to the last guy, I wasn't able to sleep him fast enough and he called in backup, I quickly stuffed both of them into the jeep and had a prisoner sitting in one of the back seats. I was like 'oh shit I hope the soldiers shooting at us won't kill one of the targets', while I'm driving down the road taking shots, the fucking prisoner in the back seat ate all the bullets incoming, what a great guy. We all survived except the prisoner.
Just played GZ for the first time and got an A rank, I feel decent about myself. Well, it wasn't actually my FIRST try, but my first try I just wanted to test it on my system, so I killed everyone on the base after hijacking one of those APCs and then I drove it off a cliff. Fun stuff.
Wait you can extract guards and stuff in GZ?, i thought it only worked with the prisoners
Wait you can extract guards and stuff in GZ?, i thought it only worked with the prisoners
You can kidnap everyone on the base if you want to
Was replaying Ground Zeroes today. After KOing the guy in the first tower I hear the jeep coming down the road then a thump and a scream. Fucking jeep ran over his buddy :v:
You can kidnap everyone on the base if you want to
Do you get anything from it? Do those soldiers you kidnap have a chance of being recruiting in TPP?
Was replaying Ground Zeroes today. After KOing the guy in the first tower I hear the jeep coming down the road then a thump and a scream. Fucking jeep ran over his buddy :v:
i tranq'd a guy on the road at the beginning of GZ and the same thing happened. on top of that, he called CP to let them know there was an intruder in the base, so i got a caution phase for something i didn't even do :v:
Do you get anything from it? Do those soldiers you kidnap have a chance of being recruiting in TPP?
Unless I'm misunderstanding, if you upload your GZ save file and import it to TPP, any prisoners or soldiers you extracted will become new recruits for Motherbase, and unique soldiers like the sniper duo and Kojima will be named as well. Someone asked on the steam forums--will replays of the game overrite your progress? For example, if I extract the sniper duo on my first playthrough of that mission but kill them in the second and then upload the file to TPP, will I not have them as soldiers because they'd be considered killed? [editline]10th August 2015[/editline] Is there a way to tell which unique soldiers you've extracted?

Unless you can cite a source that directly says that, I would not expect anything on that level. I wouldn't expect to honestly get that much from the save transfer.
On the official website it says people you extract will be on Mother Base in TPP.
Prisoners or unique characters recovered from the field in MGSV:GZ will be available as Mother Base staff in MGSV:TPP. I'd imagine there'd be a limit; there's only so much holding space in Mother Base. They might not have the best stats, either. [editline]10th August 2015[/editline] My merge.

I have the sneaking suspicion they're going to fuck up the order one way or another.
