I don't suppose there's anyone here who knows the best place to farm R&D soldiers in PW before the final mission? I want to get the best rocket launchers for [sp]the second Peace Walker fight[/sp] but I'd rather not collect random soldiers hoping they have good stats.
You know there's a binoculars upgrade that lets you see stats, right?
you guys know you don't need 100% for the GZ suit in TPP right?
what DO you need to do
I just watched a movie version of Metal Gear 1. I don't really see how it's integral to the plot of the other games though. Couldn't really gather much from it except destroy metal gear and defeat big boss.

Metal Gear 1 is literally the establishing game of the series in terms of intent and gameplay, but Metal Gear 2 is where the style and story pick up. You'll see.

i've been thinking about it as well and it's really the only thing that makes sense to me. the game starts off in 1975 then jumps to 1984, but by the time metal gear 1 rolls around big boss is the leader of foxhound and the cause of the first metal gear being created. in the nuclear trailer there is what i think an early stage prototype of metal gear, so for all we know this game could go as far as 1995.

I still think it'd be cool if the final boss battle is a losing battle against Solid Snake from MG1.
You know there's a binoculars upgrade that lets you see stats, right?
It does, but I haven't reached the point where it's quick enough to actually sit down and analyze everyone on a stage. Combine that with my laziness, and thus why I posted in the thread.

Why stop there? [sp]Metal Gear 2, where your heavy weaponry is weighing you down so much that you can't catch up to Snake, as he builds his aerosol+lighter weapon and sets you ablaze. [/sp]
Although I love the first game, it's largely dull and grey and the sequel's art style and soundtrack are a big improvement if you ask me. The first can be a little monotonous at times, but AC!D² is all about fun.

Nope, I haven't. This quote is taken directly from the final cutscene:
[sp]"The two NSA code breakers who defected in 1960 were actually both men. The real ADAM never showed up at the meeting place, saving me the trouble of having to eliminate him. I sneaked in by pretending I was EVA..."[/sp]
Huh, totally forgot about that. They just keep calling her Eva since there's nothing else to call her I guess :v:
The point stands, though, that the crew knew that something was fishy but went with it anyway. As far as I remember, anyway; been a while since I played.
i find myself listening to this a lot

also question, should i finish playing guns of the patriots first or watch a movie of poops?
Portable Ops isn't really referenced in 4 so you might as well finish playing it.
MGSV stretching into the 90s could be cool, but I doubt it'll be anything huge if it happens because it would cause a ton of issues. What would happen to upgrading Diamond Dogs? Everyone would age 9 years (especially problematic for player models), presumably you'd lose Miller's radio support/management, the game would have to cover Big Boss building an even better army elsewhere, the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan would have ended, he'd have to meet characters from Sniper Wolf to Dirty Duck etc etc etc. It has potential but it would be better if the game didn't shoehorn everything in for the sake of the story coming full circle. The whole narrative with Cipher and Skull Face should be enough without anything tacked on.

So would that mean only three quarters of the game would be MGSV? :v:
I just looked at the price for MGS V: CE on Amazon UK and holy shit is that expensive.
Still holding out for this at least where everything you've done as Big Boss prior in terms of building up Mother Base/Outer Heaven and weapons R&D and security comes back to bite you in the ass if we were to switch to Solid's perspective.
The easier you make the game for yourself as Big Boss, the tougher you make it on Solid Snake in the latter half almost to just totally screwing yourself over.
Solid Snake vs. 200 sheep.

It's actually pretty cheap for what you're getting. The last collector's edition I got was GTA V for $149.99, and all I got was a stupid hat and a couple of forgettable DLC items.
so... what are we gonna do?
looks like just having the save data uploaded will do it
good because i can't be fucked finishing every mission :)
