Legacy collection ordered, should be here in a few days.
Fucking called the gameplay demo, Kojima never disappoints
Just finished MGS1 on PC. Really amazing how [sp]MGS1 is pretty much setting up vital events that will happen in MGSV[/sp]. Now I'm going to be transitioning to the PS3 to finish the Legacy edition and then rotate back to PC for GZ and TPP. Can't wait!
That's an interesting thought actually. It's probably not too jarring to go from MGS1 to MGSV and skip the rest. [editline]18th June 2015[/editline] story wise that is
That's an interesting thought actually. It's probably not too jarring to go from MGS1 to MGSV and skip the rest. [editline]18th June 2015[/editline] story wise that is
Gameplay-wise, though, hoo boy First-person/shoulder-aiming, crouchwalking in 4 (and the 3DS version of 3), no prone in Peace Walker, expanded melee and CQC controls by 3..
never played any of the games, preordered the ps4 because it looks cool as fuck. are all the essential titles on ps4?
never played any of the games, preordered the ps4 because it looks cool as fuck. are all the essential titles on ps4?
The Collections are PS3 and 360, unfortunately. Legacy Collection has them all and a download code for MGS1, HD Collection lacks MGS1 and MGS4.
well i have lots of friends with ps3s so i can work something out, i'm sure the order to play them in is widely available information
So I can't fucking wait for this. It releases on PC a few days before I start University, but fuck that shit. I'm not playing this game with starting uni hanging over my head. Gonna buy a PS4 just to get to play this on the 1st (and for other the other great looking PS4 shit) so I can play it and enjoy it without something nagging at me.
I hope we get to see Big Boss interact with the members of FOXHOUND, a side mission where BB helps Sniper Wolf or recruits Vulcan Raven would be awesome; especially since we're already seeing Psycho Mantis.

"d-dog found medicinal plant" ayyy
you don't have to play as snake? how does that work for the story? that doesnt seem like a good omen
a bit weird having boss yelling at DD while in cover near enemies and they dont hear him [editline]18th June 2015[/editline] aw i thought the phantom cigar was unlimited but its not, thats a shame.
you don't have to play as snake? how does that work for the story? that doesnt seem like a good omen
in Peacewalker [sp]which you hate but watev[/sp] you could play missions as MSF soldiers instead of snake, but you had to do the main story missions as snake first I think. This actually worked better for missions as some soldiers actually had better stats than Snake himself, which is what endgame PW turned into basically. Also it works for COOP instead of having 4 snakes
Feel free to correct me if anything seems off, but here's something I'm expecting judging from the trailers. [sp]There are several shots that look like Big Boss is killing men in similar uniforms to Diamond Dogs, or is being assaulted by them. Somewhere halfway through the Phantom Pain, I expect Kid Mantis is going to do some crazy shit to everyone on Mother Base to make them attack you. You'll have to fight through motherbase all the while having to get past your allies. Whether you kill them or manage to go through non-lethally will be up you to. Think Panchea from Deus Ex: Human Revolution, but instead of random civilians and workers, these will be comrades that you have hand picked from the field and trained yourself. If something like this happens, it's gonna be heart wrenching. I hope you can't load saves so you have to live with your decisions. At the end of the mission, you go to the motherbase management screen and it shows you everyone who died, possibly by your hand :c [/sp]
imagine what it means with playable DD agents too. [sp]your guy lives through ridiculously dangerous operations in heavily fortified bases, taking down helicopters and elite XOF soldiers and evading skull units all the while, and then at the end all he gets is a plug in the back of the head from his boss. BB doesn't support the troops y'all[/sp]

Oh my god You can make the chopper play music, this is the best feature ever This really does look like Hideo's magnum opus
Fucking called the gameplay demo, Kojima never disappoints
And I thought E3 would end on a boring notice. Haven't seen the 40min vid yet. Yet... Also, this E3s mgs trailer is by far the very best trailer I have ever seen. Kojima sure knows how to do them. The musical choice is Perfect. It transmits a sense of "everything going down the shitter, and its a one way street with no U-turn", but it does it in a way no other dev has been able to do. It's just, perfect. Although this might be because IMO, 80s music seem to convey emotions better.
Yooooo the mission setup screen plays the main PeaceWalker theme. That is like my favorite track from the series that's sick.
Oh my god You can make the chopper play music, this is the best feature ever This really does look like Hideo's magnum opus
My biggest takeaways from the demo were: -The weapon customization explains everything about the fictional equipment. It looks incredible as well. -Playing with your DD soldiers FULLY CONFIRMED, the one thing I didn't expect back from Peace Walker. The mother base systems are straight upgrades, nothing has just been chopped. -Massive amounts of equipment slots, Ground Zeroes had me scared but it all worked out. -The weapon tree looks immense, I thought it looked rather understaffed until he started scrolling through the sniper rifles. -More vehicles than we've previously seen, and the ability to spawn with them in free roam is great. -D-Walker being able to VOTOMS around is the greatest fucking shit ever, I hope he's super customizable. -Saw plenty of interior areas, which all seem quite detailed. There's stuff in this demo that they showed live during E3 we didn't see. Those leaked videos had DD in battle armor with a stun knife, which didn't show at all here.
-Massive amounts of equipment slots, Ground Zeroes had me scared but it all worked out.
thank fucking jesus
thank fucking jesus
Ground Zeroes didn't really need any so it makes sense, but we have waaaaay more now.
Ground Zeroes didn't really need any so it makes sense, but we have waaaaay more now.
Still looks like you can't carry a whole lot of weapons though, unfortunately.
was a bit dumb how the mech could like, sneak right up behind people despite being loud as fuck when normally they turn round if you crouch run at them.
Still looks like you can't carry a whole lot of weapons though, unfortunately.
I'm fine with that, especially since you can pick up enemy weapons and paradrop ones in from base easily. Being able to see all your weapons on your player model is one of my favorite new small touches. D-Horse has a scabbard, you might be able to store guns on him too. I can't wait to get another S-rank female soldier and ride around Afghanistan on my stealth mech with a shitty SxS shotgun destroying the soviet army.
was a bit dumb how the mech could like, sneak right up behind people despite being loud as fuck when normally they turn round if you crouch run at them.
Yeah, in GZ I noticed a lot of weird stuff like this. Like how if you knock someone out from behind cover, even someone looking right at it won't be alerted. At least it seems like the alert system is better now, as opposed to enemies just instantly alerting the entire base in GZ.
was a bit dumb how the mech could like, sneak right up behind people despite being loud as fuck when normally they turn round if you crouch run at them.
Maybe it was just for demonstration purposes? They said it could be outfitted for stealth (which it clearly isn't), maybe they gave it the capability for the demo so they could show that and the action parts without having to change anything, and it runs much quieter when properly outfitted.

[editline]18th June 2015[/editline] i mean none of this bothers me because the only buddies i'll use will be the horse and maybe the dog, but its still a bit weird
At least it seems like the alert system is better now, as opposed to enemies just instantly alerting the entire base in GZ.
Holy shit you're right, that didn't even click with me. They're making so many improvements to even just the base gameplay here. [editline]18th June 2015[/editline] Actually that doesn't appear to be the case. He might have only radioed it in because he saw the fulton but not snake. Enemies in GZ sort of do that too. When he gets spotted at the end they still just yell contact.
I'm fine with that, especially since you can pick up enemy weapons and paradrop ones in from base easily.
