Watching the gameplay and seeing the credits, does anyone else feel that it makes the game seem too much like a movie? What I'm thinking of how Left4Dead and Payday had faux movie posters and credits.

Kojima loves cinematography. His trailers and games are his "movies", so of course he treats them as such
I honestly think its a terrible idea, because as one of the previews pointed out, in one mission it spoils the appearance of certain characters. So rather than you being surprised by someone appearing, you aren't because a big floating bit of text told you they will be in this mission.
I'm hoping that for super huge characters, like the one with [sp]"Paz" or whatever that is in the trailer[/sp] it'll do something like "guest starring ???" or something similar. That'd really suck if it'd spoil the appearance of Solid or someone.
I'm pretty sure they'll keep big appearances like that hidden. It won't be like dragonball where the titles of the episodes just spoil a characters death.
GUEST STARRING: Frank Jaeger and Rhodesian child
I still remember that trick they pulled off in MGS4 with [sp]big boss[/sp]

I honestly love it, adds to the drama and intensity of the series
Makes me want moar
We're not even sure if Liquid and Solid really are in this game. This is Kojima we're talking about. For all we know he's lying to us, telling us the truth, or mixing lies into the truth

That was different just because of how it was pulled off. The end of the credits roll past and then slowly [sp]Big Boss[/sp] scrolls up. I thought that was a pretty neat way to tell you it's not over yet.
I know that Peace Walker's story has been a bit polarizing, especially with how it portrayed The Boss, so what would you do to change the story if anything?
Hot Coldman is stupid as hell.
I'd make it Cold Hotman.

It's really obvious that Eli is [sp]Liquid[/sp] The last trailer cemented that theory
So I was browsing tumblr and I found this neat little comic

I'm really hoping we'll get some sort of European Extreme difficulty that disables being able to mark enemies and shit.
So today I had my first experience with the Metal Gear Solid games, namely Ground Zeroes.
To keep it short, I've had a blast although I also have alot of questions (What's with these FOX codenames? How many Sankes are there? Who are the XOF?) that the Backstory option on the menu failed to provide.
In any case, I'm super hyped for The Phantom Pain as I haven't had this fun in a game in a very long time. I was also suprised how well the game ran on my PC, are the specs for TPP going to be near-identical as those for GZ?
Ok; no one knows who the XOF are so you're not alone.
On snake (this is a big spoiler if you're planning on playing mgs1-pw) [sp]The Snake you play as in GZ is Big Boss, the man who was cloned to create Solid Snake (who you llay as in Metal Gear, Metal Gear 2, Metal Gear Solid, part of MGS2, and in MGS4), Liquid Snake, and Solidus Snake.[/sp]
Not really sure what you mean by FOX codenames.
My monitor broke and wont accept any HDMI input. If I wanted to remain spoiler free, should i play GZ but skipping cutscenes?

You can disable markings and reflex in the menu IIRC.

Naked Snake, Liquid Snake, Big Boss etc. I'm getting really confused by these.
Hot Coldman is stupid as hell.

Hot Coldman was like the best part of Peace Walker, he was just so dumb and ridiculous.

MAJOR SPOILERS FOR MGS1:
[sp]Liquid snake is Solid snake's fraternal brother. They are both clones of Big Boss[/sp]
So. Whats gonna be the cover art?

TPP specs should be identical to GZ, or at most just a small bit more taxing. It's also coming out on 360 and ps3 so you shouldn't need a monster to run it well.

Here's a list of every snake and who they are.
Solid Snake - Protagonist of Metal Gear 1, 2, Solid, Solid 4. Also appears in Solid 2.
Liquid Snake - Antagonist of Metal Gear Solid. [sp]Solid's twin brother.[/sp]
Solidus Snake - Antagonist of Metal Gear Solid 2. [sp]Liquid and Solid's older brother.[/sp]
Nake Snake / Venom Snake / Big Boss - "The world's greatest soldier." Protagonist of MGS 3 and 5 along with Peace Walker. Antagonist of the rest of the series. [sp]Solid, Liquid, and Solidus are all clones of him.[/sp]
Snake (MGS 2) - Actually a character named Raiden, only briefly refered to as Snake. [sp]Solidus' adopted son / child soldier.[/sp]

[sp]Solidus isn't older than Liquid and Snake. He's just the perfect clone of Big Boss so he looked older throughout his life.[/sp]

Isn't Solidus [sp]younger in age but has accelerated aging? So wouldn't that make him their younger brother still? Pretty sure he was the third in the Les enfants Terribles project?[/sp]

Should also spoil that [sp]Big boss is the antagonist for the other games he isnt protagonist in, will make quite a shock for the guy when he finished MGS5[/sp]
Naked Snake, Liquid Snake, Big Boss etc. I'm getting really confused by these.
Trying to make it as easy as possible (spoilered for anyone who cares!)
[sp]Naked Snake is "original Snake" (also reffered to as Big Boss), Solid Snake and Liquid Snake are clones of Naked Snake/BB, one has all of Snakes recessive genes whereas the other has the dominant genes. Solidus Snake is a third clone, designed to be identical to Naked Snake/BB.[/sp]
TL;DR [sp]Naked Snake/Big Boss is original, every other snake is a ripoff :v:[/sp]
If he plays in release order that isn't a spoiler.
PLAY IN RELEASE ORDER.
