Actually there are spoilers.
To those rating me disagree: [sp]obtaining and destroying nukes are spoilers[/sp]

Not really. [sp]All of BB's games, with the possible exception of the one that people don't talk about, have involved Nukes in some form - Attempting to possess them, and preventing someone from using them. And hell, they didn't use Nuclear by Mike Oldfield because it was a good song (Though it is), they chose it because it was fitting too. Besides that, it is almost certainly the Metal Gear we've seen BB with.[/sp]
I wonder what Quiet's Fulton animation is like
[sp]I wonder if they keep the boob physics on[/sp]
The original version of The Only Thing I Know For Real kicks ass, though.

Basically they have a running theme in that the original vocals are almost all ass, but the instrumentals are better. The soundtrack had a bit more of a power/heavy metal theme than the final version.
Here's a version I found with the original instrumental with the new vocals plastered over it. The guitars definitely used to be a bit more powerful.

And I'd argue that article has spoilers
And I'd argue that article has spoilers
Every BB game to date has involved [sp]Nukes. Not sure it is spoilers that a game set during the Cold War has them as a plot element.[/sp]
Then why did you use spoilers?
Also it's more than just "they're in the game." It explicitly says what happens.

[sp]About a year or so ago, Kojima confirmed you can load up DD's arsenal with nukes, for better or worse.[/sp]
Too bad there's no way you'll ever get to use them in game.

I spoilered it so you wouldn't get butthurt.
Too bad there's no way you'll ever get to use them in game.
When would you use it? Just to wipe out everything on a map? :v:
so my girlfriend is playing MGS2, just killed Fatman.
She knows there's a Solidus Snake because of the end of MGS1, and she knows that Solid Snake died on that tanker 2 years ago.
So she's convinced that Iroquois Plissken is in fact Solidus Snake as a grand reveal.
She's already making crazy theories. She fits right in with Metal Gear fans.
And I'd argue that article has spoilers
They're not really spoilers when the writer of the game comes out and announces it
"Skull Face is Big Boss' biological father" is a spoiler
"Big Boss gets a nuke" isn't a spoiler when it's publicly announced and you take into consideration that big boss has acquired a nuke in three games prior to this one
Aw yeah, got to 74% completion in Ground Zeroes today; I'll definitely have it 100% by the time I get TPP on PC - after I get it on PS4 first (CE for the win!)
I've also spent 18 hours in it, which is as long as it took me to finish MGS3.
What's the point of uplaoding my GZ save to TPP?
Every unique soldier you extracted and some of the POW will be in your army.
[editline]20th June 2015[/editline]
I hope "Bald Soldier" gets to keep his name
hello all. i just beat ground zeroes and i'm going back for 100% completion, me thinks. i'm definitely now interested in the phantom pain.
i'm looking into pursuing the series. should i start in chronological or release order? i can get the PC versions of mgs 1 and 2, peace walker and snake eater are emulated but they run.
what do you all suggest?
Always release order.
Hate it how even the HD releases of 2 and 3 have them in chronological order, so dumb.
Hate it how even the HD releases of 2 and 3 have them in chronological order, so dumb.
No? My menu has 2 first, then 3, then PW.
Oh I have the Vita copy, it has 3 first, then 2.
I have a vita copy too and it's two separate games
I also checked the 360 version and 2/3 and PW are on separate discs, so it lists 2/3 in chronological order on the first disc. I guess the Vita version is a port of the 360 version or something?

Digital copy. Well they're two separate games but this menu is just a launcher.
Oh I have the Vita copy, it has 3 first, then 2.
The PS3 copy also has it in chronological order.
3, PW then 2.

YES.
I've also had a digital copy but it just shows as two bubbles on the vita menu screen
Speaking of - I recently 100%'d the game, but... Do we know if the import will only take your most recent attempt at a mission when you import it? As in, when I do the optimal run (Say, extract Glaz and Palitz), I can't do any others to dick around in the game because if I kill them it won't import it?
Wish we knew these things.
Every prisoner, plus Glaz and Palitz, count toward your percentage. Once you get them you have them. The game was designed with replays in mind so they wouldn't require you to save everyone on your highest scoring run to save them.
Back to the subject of the MGR:R soundtrack, yes collective conciousness is the weakest of all the tracks.. but it is just stage one of the final boos fight where you dick about with gimmicks until the real showdown begins [sp]and grab the largest metal gear in series to date and Judo throw the damn thing[/sp]
and secondly there is a FAR superior version available
Release Order.
Playstation 1 version of the first Metal Gear Solid if this is your first time playing, for the love of god.
If you have or can get a PS3 just find a copy of the Legacy Collection since it contains the full series aside from some non/limited canon games and MGS 5.
If you don't have a PS3 then just emulate everything up to MGS 4 (since you can't) assuming you have a beefy, super fast computer. The PC ports really aren't great but it might be the better option if your computer isn't that recent-ish
You won't have to emulate MGS 4 at all since you can literally just full on watch it and not really miss anything. Enjoy the 90 minute long cutscene at the end.
You shouldn't have any problems at all with MGS 1 under epsxe aside from the music being slightly muffled/broken. Fix it (like 99% mostly) by downloading the "P.E.Op.S." 1.10 audio driver seperately and using:
Mode: 4:Async on-demand
Reverb: 2: PSX reverb
Interpolation 4: Cubic
with "XA playing" enabled. It's like the closest you can get to how the game actually sounds on a real Playstation. Even the sound in the PSN download of MGS 1 (comes with the legacy collection) doesn't come out right.
MGS 2 and 3 under PCSX2 are way more complicated and you'll have to figure that shit out. Still doing my run of MGS 3 on it but I can tell you right now at the end of MGS 2 on "Hard" or above you're going to get to a point that is absolutely, totally, without a doubt impossible to pass and you'll know what I'm talking about when you get to it. When you do, switch the emulator to run SuperVU instead of MicroVU to have the sequence work correctly and then save/load a save state when you switch the setting back after you get through it.
I also don't know if it's really necessary but I think I've been getting better results with the advanced VU0 / VU1 recompiler options set to Round Mode - Chop/Zero and Clamping Mode - Extra + Preserve Sign.
ALSO have manual game fixes enabled and enable "EE timing hack", "Simulate VIF1 FIFO read ahead" and "Delay VIF1 Stalls (VIF1 FIFO)" so that the non mandatory codec calls in MGS 2 actually work. Otherwise you'll miss out on crazy campbell and not even know it and you might end up confused.
[editline]20th June 2015[/editline]
If you have have a bad time with a boss or get stuck somewhere in that game it's not what I'm talking about. You're gonna know when you've gotten to the point I'm talking about at the very end and it's a game breaking glitch by the emulator.
Enjoy the ride.
Awesome advice, thank you!
But may I ask what's wrong with the PC versions of 1 and 2?
I'm curious as what's meant by "V has come to" at the end of the trailer.
