Metal Gear Solid - VIIII - A Hideo Kojima Thread - PLAY THEM ALL IN RELEASE ORDER

Its tedious as fuck though. There's a reason why I haven't 100%'d GZ.
Doing it on that mission is a HUGE pain in the ass because of the constant truck drivers. If any of them leave the area before you mark them, you fail the trial.
And marking truck drivers is basically a huge "it won't or it will work". I was smack in front of an oncoming truck with my binocs peeled on his face and it wouldn't mark him, cue me chasing him like an idiot across the base until a camera spots me and triggers an alert.

You don't fail the trial if they leave the area. That just means there's fewer to mark.
No, you fail the trial. It's happened to me before and it's why it's taken me so long to go from 99% to 100%.
If you kill an enemy or if they leave before getting marked, you fail.
Just tried it and it didn't fail for me when someone left the area. Even beat my last record.

And if you're having trouble with marking people in trucks, just shoot the side of the truck with a gun and the guy will stop and get out.
They don't announce new movies or mention that movies are "out now" at the oscars.
The Game Awards or whatever it was was literally just plugs for games. "Hey congrats to this game oh and by the way its out on steam and xbox for $59.99 now! So be sure to check it out!" "Hey congrats on that award now that you have the spot light did you want to thank anyone? Oh, no, you just want to shill your next game? Oh cool."
It was a 3.5 hour commercial.
The oscars are also organized by a giant and prestigious academy composed of thousands of industry professionals, the VGAs/VGX were organized by a TV station, the TGA was organized by Geoff himself
He's not a fucking shill, the advertisements he does are only done because he needs to otherwise he can't get funding to do what he loves, he actually genuinely enjoys and cares for the game industry.
Sessler did really become a fucking idiot though
Fyi Gta v was the fastest money making piece of entertainment ever. The industry ain't strapped for cash only backbones.

Yeah, and that's why the VGX had an entire segment dedicated to music from GTAV, because Rockstar sponsored the event
You're just proving my point further.
So, to bring everything back to Metal Gear, what was the third map that was discovered when digging through Ground Zeroes' files? I remember us discovering such things a while back when unpacking the files was prevalent.
has it set in for anyone else this is the last Hideo Kojima directed MGS trailer ever
I can't wait. Pull no punches. Deliver some great shit.

If he's in the game, I don't want him to be revealed 'til the game comes out. Let the shock hit us at full speed.
He is looking in a mirror at himself.

I hope this means it's going to have realistic mirrors. PT had a mirror that reflected light but it was covered in grime so you couldn't tell how well the engine could handle reflections
If there's one thing i'm awaiting in terms of design, it's probably the individual mission layouts. There'll no doubt be reused areas for various missions, but Ground Zeroes warmed me up to the idea - the press saying that each individual area feels like a setpiece level in and of itself, combined with varying patrols across the day and alerts causing them to adapt with more efficient gear makes it sound like i'm getting a lot of bang for my sneaking buck.
And if they can do this much for the outdoors areas, i'm just imagining at least a couple missions being in isolated parts of the map and carefully using the layout and design to be a base and contained mission in and of itself. But maybe that's too hopeful.
its very clear that geoff actually enjoys his job and is passionate about the games industry, see: the hour long presentation he had about his gaming history and the fact that he writes the great 'final hours' series of apps/documents
we give the man shit because of Doritos but Geoff is one of the few gaming journalists who actually gives a shit you know
Geoff really does care about the industry. Like, the original doritos thing people make fun of him for but what they ignore is his face. He isn't happy about it. Like, he looks very unhappy infact.
Geoff is in it for the games, not as much for the money

Well that's why it got so memetic is because you can tell he feels like a sellout
it was hillarious. He looks like Max Payne, all shrivelled up on the inside
Yeah he's a good guy
I'm hoping his game of the year stuff happens this year too
Get hyped !
Section 2 of Geoff's wikipedia page is called "DoritoGate". :v: What a career.

There were a few real time reflections in Ground Zeroes which looked top notch to me. I don't doubt that that's a full sized mirror with that quality
Geoff really does care about the industry. Like, the original doritos thing people make fun of him for but what they ignore is his face. He isn't happy about it. Like, he looks very unhappy infact.
It's ironic really, people took that picture as him being a shill when he's blatantly unimpressed in it. Let's not forget we also have Geoff to thank for the Moby Dick Studios/"The Phantom Pain" business.

i think the grime was only around the facial area so you couldn't see who you were playing as, the parts that were clean functioned well - and it kinda had to since one of the scares was the ghost sauntering up behind you. though i'm still not sure if the light reflecting off of it was just the engine being really really good or because of the developers' absurd attention to detail

I want to see putting c4 on guards brought back in TPP.
Imagine all the things we could do with that.

If it's in GZ it's most likely going to be in TPP.
We'll probably get all sorts of different fanny packs to attach to your chosen victim.
I can't wait to throw empty magazines at incapacitated enemies. That still cracks me up in GZ.
We'll probably get all sorts of different fanny packs to attach to your chosen victim.
Just attaching any fanny pack at all would be reason enough for the soldiers to kill themselves. If I had the skills, I'd mod that into TPP.

And then someone mods them to have instant KO force. I actually used a trainer once on the PC version to make all my weapons non-lethal, smacked Chico in the face with a magazine, and he just does his death scream as he flips over in his cage, yet didn't die.
Then he just floats right back to sitting up when I start the cutscene anyway.
Just S-ranked RAY on revengeance. I feel good about myself
