There's a difference between knowing multiple languages and being able to translate on the fly what someone's saying Hell, even normal translation jobs in which you're not in a rush are bad enough because different languages have vastly different grammatical rules, you're not just translating words, you're rewriting the entire sentence in a different language Now imagine that you have to do that to someone over a radio and you can't delay.
Huh, I thought I was shit whenever someone at home wanted me to translate something in english, and it took me like a full minute to process whatever I had to translate.
I don't mind Cheif Keif too much, especially now that Snake isn't going to talk as much as he did in previous titles. But I get the feeling that there might be MGS2 tier events in the game that explain his rigid performance.
Just started playing MGS2, it's actually amazing how well the controls work compared to MGS1. I'm used to PC controls and quickly got the hang of the controls despite having major problems adjusting to controls in Red Dead.
Speaking of PC, has anyone played the MGS1 PC port? It's actually pretty great once you get it working.
actually, you're right his voice is spot on damn I can't get enough of this trailer
Wait, WHAT? Trailer had Zero in it? Where, what's his lines? I thought it only had Skullface, Kaz, Ocelot and a bit of Snake.

Other than a black bar across the very bottom of the screen due to some resolution issues, it works pretty well. You just need a patch for Windows 7. In fact, it's pretty much the only reason why I haven't upgraded to Windows 10. I don't know if it'll start any more compatibility issues.

Good god it's perfect in every single way
Here's a good analysis on the importance of language, code talker, and the meaning behind the phrase "words that kill" http://art-eater.com/2015/06/words-that-kill-metal-gear-and-the-genocide-of-native-americans/
Watching the MGSV trailer again, noticed something interesting: http://i.imgur.com/ifgyAc3.gif originally thought it was just the song, but there may be more to it... Edit: Damn it, I thought I was clever, it's clearly visible in the scene right before it.
Something tells me it's going to be from Zero or at least a recording of Zero.
Taking the lyrics of the song by Bowie into consideration, I am more inclined to believe the tape is from Skullface.

Either Kojima based it on TGAOBM, TGAOBMs writer can time travel, or this is a huge coincidence.
Good god it's perfect in every single way
I've seen Hoss Delgado used constantly to reference Plissken / Big Boss, but now I realize the full context of the joke and I feel stupid for not getting it sooner.
Wait what the fuck!? Either Kojima based it on TGAOBM, TGAOBMs writer can time travel, or this is a huge coincidence.
Time travel.
Does this mean Billy and Mandy are Chico and Paz? Awesome.

Wait, so we can edit the color and emblem but not the structure of mother base anymore? (41:00) I could have sworn we were going to able to, otherwise player invasion is going to be the same thing every time
Didn't Kojima want hayter for his face acting too? Like the one trailer showed they were doing motion capture of the face which i'd understand Kiefer could show more emotion than hayter could. And honestly with how hayter has been whining about how he's not in MGS5 I really hope he's not in at all. Either that or he is just spoiling the fact that he's in by constantly trying to assure everyone he isn't. [t]http://i.ytimg.com/vi/7Lh0gnSerOA/maxresdefault.jpg[/t]
I haven't stop giggling about the Hoss Delgado thing.

I'd assume that means that a base with more intel agents will be different from a base with a lot of research agents. also there's a new results screen
I'm pretty worried regarding how the story missions are separated, like the credits rolling after every one. If the story actually plays like GZ and you just do a bunch of missions in sequence, it could really mess up the pacing. I was expecting the game to be really story heavy, but from what we've heard it seems like they don't really focus that much on it anymore.

Reminds me of Far cry 2, and I did feel like the camo/healing system in MGS3 was cool but broke up the pace too much [editline]24th June 2015[/editline] Oh, so it's the FOB that players can invade? Is that the one that you can customise?
A little offtopic about TPP: I bought MGR:R during the sales. I heard from my friends it was very good, but as soon as Raiden fights [sp]that Metal Gear Ray[/sp], I fell in love. Today I have beat the main story, and god, the game has surpassed my expectations (especially the soundtrack). Just a little thing which I'm half-confused: [sp]Wasn't MG Ray disabled during the events of MGS 4? Desperado found it and made it back online, or like some of my friends told me, Ray has been now mass-produced?[/sp] Considering that the only way for me during all these years to follow the series was reading written walkthroughs through magazines, it makes me wonder that. EDIT: doesn't the new spoiler ([sp2]) work anymore?

Thanks for sharing. The themes in MGS is honestly my favorite part, Kojima knows how to make a story matter to the audience, which is why MGS is so great.
EDIT: doesn't the new spoiler ([sp2]) work anymore?
Abused too much so it was removed.
Abused too much so it was removed.
No, it was because it didn't function properly on mobile devices and didn't work correctly on all browsers irrc.
