It's only a matter of time until we get a David Hayter voice mod...
... R-right?
That'd be cool if he was willing, but i doubt he would.
I'm surprised we only really delved into music replacements for the PC version of Ground Zeroes, really, and not further sound replacements. I'm sure that theoretically David Hayter clips from previous games could be inserted if we knew how, but those sort of mods always appear with games when fans don't like VAs. I'm also certain more model replacements could be done, but no one released a single one of the tools capable of it all for GZ.
Something tells me the modders are stingily reserving their big guns for The Phantom Pain.

I meant voice clips from the previous games.

I guess i wouldn't mind a Frankensteined up voice for Big Boss.
If you want a lot of both new and old official and confirmed information so far, this page has a list of all of it along with a YongYea video also included and partly documented. If you've only been checking in occasionally and trying to avoid learning too many details about the game, avoid it.
I'm hoping that we get more maps than Africa and Afghanistan. Granted, those areas were pretty loaded with conflict at that time, but I wouldn't mind some areas that aren't covered in sand.

Good, cause the Africa map is set in a jungle.

Well ya there's that but there's still a lot of brown and sandy areas in the Africa stuff.
so after a few months of procrastinating i decided i should maybe continue playing peace walker
so i boot up the emulator, go load the .iso, except the .iso isn't there
for some reason all traces of the existence of peace walker on my PC erased itself, like the folder i had it in is gone
had to redownload the whole thing, good thing my savefile was still there
but what

I think the Siachen Glacier would make for a cool snow/ice area

Replace all sounds with mouth noises, like that HL2 mod.

Africa has a pretty diverse climate, y'know.

We're also not getting all of Africa. At least, that's judging from the gameplay we've seen so far.
Have we gotten to see more Africa gameplay since the Quiet buddy reveal gameplay?
If you watch the ground zeroes ending again, you'll notice [sp] Another soldier who isnt kaz, or the medic makes it into the chopper. Mask and everything. [/sp]
No shit we're not getting all of Africa. There's nothing that says we can't travel to various parts of Africa, though.
Besides, I don't mind it much either way considering how almost every other Metal Gear game only has one or two locations each.

we should start a kickstarter for the david hayter voice mod
So, I've been playing Metal Gear 2: Solid Boogaloo, and [sp]there better be a room in MGSV that's just a bunch of soldier balloons, because I just encountered a room like that and chuckled at the absurdity.[/sp]
I remember when I was like 7, I thought MGS 2 was dumb because it was so short. Little did I know that the tanker was only the first part. :v:

would of been cool if after doing the tanker the game went back to the main menu like the game has ended
Honestly, MGS2 Substance really should have included Snake's side of the story, probably as a side story after you beat the game.
Substance probably would have sold tons of copies if it did that.

what
you mean snake tales isn't snake's side of the story???
what
Because of the negative reception Raiden received as the main character of Metal Gear Solid 2, a series of stories were created involving Snake. Due to the low production value of these missions, there is no voiceover work. Instead, the plot is described in pages of dialog and text interspersed between gameplay, and several soundbites from the game are also reused for some of the characters. All of the Snake Tales are non-canon.

i know sarcasm is hard to tell on the internet, but come on, the triple question marks should clue you in
we should start a kickstarter for the david hayter voice mod
Hayter was doing some voice work for that fan-made recreation of MG1, but Konami killed it off. He probably wouldn't want to fuck with anything related to a Konami produced game, I would guess.
But heck, I'm sure there are plenty of really good impersonators who would be willing to do it with enough pay.
[editline].[/editline]
Speaking of that, the fan trailer pretty clearly shows that Hayter can still do a young Snake voice.

Just beat Metal Gear 2; fun game! Had to put it on doublespeed sometimes because the backtracking took a while, but overall I'm glad I experienced it.
[sp]The one big bullshit part I had was right near the end- they don't tell you what the eggs are or what they do, but by the time I called the animal expert all my rations were gone. This wouldn't be a problem if you didn't need 3 specific rations to cross plot-acid after that point. Not only did I have to backtrack to get said rations, you don't have the specific keycard for the door at the end of the tunnel! The guide that I used made me backtrack all the way back to Predator's area to get the card, and was generally a waste of time.[/sp]
So, after an incredible 6 hour marathon session, today we completed Part 2 of "Operation : Get my girlfriend into Metal Gear Solid". It's been working so far. The other plan is to get her sufficiently into it she pays for at least, like, half of a Phantom Pain collectors edition.
Watching someone play through Metal Gear Solid 2's ending for the first time is a completely magical experience. It's great gleeful fun to sit back and put your feet up and just let the insanity hit someone else face first, although she was extremely frustrated about the fact that I wasn't answering any of her questions. Like "Is there anyone who DOESN'T have a secret agenda?" "Why is Solidus old?" "Why is Liquid a ghost in an arm?" "Is Snake real?" "Is anything real?"
Wait until 4.
Except they won't answer any questions either. Just retcons and more confusion.
Actually seeing the ending for 2 again reminded me how irritating 4 is, that apparently Snake and Otacon sat on their asses for 5 years doing fuck all against the La-Li-Lu-Le-Lo
or how Snake tells Raiden to find a new name, new identity, and to be his own man....
and he ends up still being Raiden, but with Gray Fox~
Any character development in MGS2 basically never happened.
