why couldn't Liquid possess somebody who wasn't Ocelot he's my favourite character and being possessed means he just isn't around at all in mgs4
liquid ocelot is one of the top reasons why ocelot is the best though
liquid ocelot is one of the top reasons why ocelot is the best though
hey I never said he was bad [sp]he's pretty good[/sp]
Honestly, having Liquid fake his death and putting him in Ocelot's place would have minimally changed the story. You can still have Ocelot's ruses, just keep him as Liquid's right hand man (pun may or may not be intended).

tbh, ocelot should have stopped the whole warmongering business and taken up impersonation his impression of liquid in mgs2 is spot on
tbh, ocelot should have stopped the whole warmongering business and taken up impersonation his impression of liquid in mgs2 is spot on
But he was being possessed in MGS2.
I'm still mad Cam Clarke didn't come back for MGS4.
But he was being possessed in MGS2.
[sp]he was never possessed it was [del]retconned[/del] a clever ruse[/sp]
The whole thing about Ocelot being possessed by Liquid is false, it's all nanomachines and mind therapy.
[sp]he was never possessed it was [del]retconned[/del] a clever ruse[/sp]
The wiki claims [sp]he was originally being possessed so he removed the arm and did psychotherapy instead[/sp] but I'm inclined to believe that's a fan interpretation purely to explain the [sp]bionic arm in MGS4[/sp] and that it really was a ruse all along. Cuz otherwise the idea that [sp]Liquid could actually possess someone via his severed arm[/sp] is pretty stupid, even in the world of Metal Gear. Not to mention the plot convience of [sp]using Liquid's arm instead of one of the various dead genome soldiers' arms or literally anyone else's[/sp] doesn't make much sense unless [sp]Ocelot was planning the ruse[/sp] all along.

[sp]Goddamn, I hate that retcon so much.[/sp]
I'm still mad Cam Clarke didn't come back for MGS4.
That would have made MGS4 better than TPP, and we can't have that. DON'T SAY IT WOULDN'T. You know damn well it would..
[sp]The whole thing about Ocelot being possessed by Liquid is false, it's all nanomachines and mind therapy.[/sp]
oh my god there's been so many people over the last few pages mentioning that they're just getting into the games and saw untagged spoilers, is it so hard to just type some letters
The whole thing about Ocelot being possessed by Liquid is false, it's all nanomachines and mind therapy.
NO IT'S NOT SHUT UP

oh my god the peace walker boss battle 2 is fucking awful everything goes fine until that bitch decides to go into nuke mode with 10% health left and never fucking bulge even if i fire my whole arsenal of rocket launchers at the god damn pod it happened to me 4 times now, and that's 4 times 30 minutes of my life wasted because she likes to take her sweet time strolling around the place while i can't even fire anything because EM PULSE i am angry about giant robots

I ran into that issue and my solution was using a one hit kill hack just to get past it.

And to the Patriots, Liquid was there and the pattern suggested sending Solid to stop him.[/sp] I am going to full heartedly accept this retcon for this reason.
Except thats the entire reason why [sp]his father is the Sorrow.[/sp]
That was in MGS3 as a kind of "Here's your little explanation now go away" but then MGS4 was made and [sp]Big Boss explained it was never Liquid. When he explains the whole psychotherapy and nanomachines gag one of the flashbacks is to MGS2, so whilst it was previously intended as possession it was retconned/*elaborated upon* as Ocelot's plan all along.[/sp]

It only becomes really apparent in the final fight when you see him take his coat off and see the fake arm in all of its length, followed by beating the 'Liquid' out of him until he eventually reverts back to his Ocelot persona.[/sp]

Thanks to MGS4 Liquid didn't die off-screen in-universe, but he did to us the audience. Pretty cheap really.[/sp]
