We all do, man. We all do. Less than two months to go.
Like, I don't even know what to do in the mean time. Everything seems kinda shit in comparison.
I don't even want to play other Metal Gear games. This game overshadows everything.

I plan on replaying every metal gear solid game in the run up to Phantom Pain. Plan on starting in a few days. I haven't played a metal gear in years so it'll probably take me a couple months.
That reminds me
Still haven't finished MGS3 on Hard. Game's actually hard on higher settings, but its so much more enjoyable when you get through a tough part.
I hope Phantom Pain has some kickass Alert phase music. GZ's was kinda eh, in comparisson with:

Also, we can't talk about MGS soundtracks without including Yell Dead Cell, c'mon

We also can't forget the caution theme of MGS3, really adds to sneaking around everywhere.

ah yeah Tom083 good jobe
Who said rescuing Paz before Chico is easier? Getting her out is fucking impossible even on Normal no matter what order you do it in, only because the game forces you to drop her off at the shore, and the way there goes through that open area where literally everything can see you.
How is this supposed to work? I just wish there was actual strategical thinking involved for S-ranking, rather than copying the only movement pattern that works from someone on Youtube.

You can practically just walk out of the base if you get Paz first. There's also plenty of different ways you can do a mission to get rank.
Sorry to ask guys, I don't own GZ and I'd like to know if my PC could handle TPP when it comes out.

You're pretty much bound to get spotted going out that way, especially since you have to carry Paz around as well, and it's the only way there is.

Well you can leave from the west or east doorways and I've played the ground zeroes mission enough to know both ways are viable.
go straight, walk back to cliff you started at with paz
do you absolutely have to use that place down by the coast

Ah, yeah. Didn't want to link it here otherwise I thought I'd come off as egotistical, considering I don't actively post here.

Read that in Ocelot's voice, fantastic.
These animations aren't that good, animation-quality wise, I've done better. Hopefully with my upcoming Shia LaBoss animation I can wow you guys:

(Yes I know it looks awful, I've barely done any work and I've still got the fully thing to animate).
Well you can leave from the west or east doorways and I've played the ground zeroes mission enough to know both ways are viable.
I guess I'm forgetting that I can walk around the whole map to get there, but then my S rank time will probably quietly tick away and I'll have put in all that effort for nothing.
That's how the entire game feels like, really. It's like HM2 where you can do really well and then get fucked over by an offscreen enemy miles away.

You can call for a helicopter at any of the spots, it's not restricted to one spot.

Collector's Edition is sold out here, so I bought the next best thing. Hype!

I think your ram and CPU is ok but your gpu isn't enough. If I remember correctly, you need at least a 650 to run GZ.
Do you have to S rank every mission on hard to get 100% on GZ?
Do you have to S rank every mission on hard to get 100% on GZ?
Ya. You can pretty much use the same techniques you used for normal difficulty.
ive not even s ranked anything on normal difficulty
[editline]8th July 2015[/editline]
every time i try to s rank a mission i just end up forgetting im meant to be doing that and just end up taking ages and killing people dammit

Start off with the intel officer rescue mission. It's really easy to S rank, even on hard mode.
anti-air is the easiest mission to S imo
[editline]8th July 2015[/editline]
just wait for guard patrols, remember them, restart and tranq everyone. destroy the two vision AA tanks near the helipad with the one closest to spawn
blow that one up with C4, plant three C4 on the path the APC is coming then call the heli in to the cliff

That shit with the collector's edition drives me nuts.
I'm going to end up buying a $60 copy from amazon (and release day shipping) just to make sure I have the game on day one and then buy some hiked up collectors edition off ebay for like $300 on the same day.
My own personal theory about Big Boss is that he's got a power like most of the other characters in the game that aren't Solid Snake, and that's Empathy. He can feel what others feel, which makes him a good leader, makes him excellent at persuasion, and allows him to see certain things that other people would never notice. He can't read minds but he can read people.
Considering the next game is called the Phantom Pain (which Miller seems to be quite vividly experiencing, and he asks Big Boss if "he can feel it too" in the red band trailer), and seeing how it's frequently implied that Ocelot can see ghosts like the Sorrow could (with big boss somehow being able to share that trait when he's near Ocelot), that theory seems more and more plausible.
[sp]You know, it'd be a really great plot twist if the bandana is given to Snake by Big Boss himself during the ending cutscene, as a sign that . Of course, this is ruined by the fact that snake "kills" big boss in MG1 without knowing he was his father, but it would have been cool (I'm presuming here that snake was told by BB that he was his father on Zanzibar and not on Outer Heaven). I have a feeling something along those lines will happen in V, though; some sort of "passing of the torch" that happens between the two without Snake knowing the truth.[/sp]
On a semirelated note to the above spoilers, we never did find out when Snake learned BB was his father. My guess is that it happened on Zanzibar, right before the two fought, something that wasn't brought up until MGS1 because a. kojima retconned it and b. having it in the game regardless would have seemed really cheap for storytelling.
[sp]Canonically he tells him either during the fight or during his death at Zanzibar Land. Though nothing outright states when it actually happens, this is generally what is accepted.
Also, BB was Snake's commander in Fox-Hound, so he absolutely could have given it to him then. Alternatively, Kaz could have given it to him.
Maybe Kaz retrieved the bandanna and saved it :y[/sp]
[editline]8th July 2015[/editline]
MGS4 ending spoilers: [sp]Doesn't BB call SS his brother? I thought that was a nice touch because being a father is some tough shit and too much of a responsibility for BB or anyone, but calling him his otouto acknowledges him as family and puts him in a position where he can accept himself.[/sp]
He calls him both. [sp]"Son... Or should I say... Brother?"
Maybe it's a reference to being relatively the same age now thanks to accelerated aging. Or just the fact that cloning creates weird familial ties.[/sp]
I'm tempted to just watch a 2 hour 'movie' compilation of Portable ops' story and then maybe a full summary before playing Peace walker, people are saying the gameplay of PO isn't that great
I'm really interested in which characters we'll be able to play besides BB. Is there any info on that yet? I hope there'll be unique ones, not just clone troopers like in PW.
so why does Liquid Ocelot have a private army entirely of women
besides the obvious
