Look at these figures for MGSV.
Solidus confirmed for being Mantis. I fucking told you all so
or theres a patriots/cipher/skull army experiment that involved children, though not necessarily les enfents. if you look at eli, he has a red beret folded and strapped to his shoulder. young mantis has the same beret, strapped to his shoulder as well. and then, well, the other eli in the latest trailer.
i think we are dealing with child "boss" soldiers here, not necessarily L.E.T.
I want a physical copy for PC (even if it only comes with a steam code inside) that looks like this.

Metal Gear started on PC, after all.

[sp]First child, Eli (Liquid Snake). Second, Sniper Wolf. Third, Psycho Mantis. Gang's all here, folks.[/sp]

i dunno of any reference to sniper wolf yet, though i hope that's true. i hope the whole gang of mgs1 bosses were children under big boss's employment.

'Tretij Rebenok' is russian though, and Mantis is russian too

Would that be accurate with Sniper Wolf's backstory? Can't remember what exactly went on with her when she met BB.
i dunno of any reference to sniper wolf yet, though i hope that's true. i hope the whole gang of mgs1 bosses were children under big boss's employment.
Not yet, but considering she states that Boss saved her as a child and raised her as a soldier (plus the fact that a lot of people at konami love her), it would not be surprising in the least.
The only problem with the theory is that she is from Iraqi Kurdistan, but if they wanted to put her in the story I'm sure they could have Boss visit there for reasons.
How the hell do I get S on the GZ Intel Acquisition on Hard? I killed nobody and I didn't trigger any alarms and yet I still only get an A.
Same thing with the assassination mission, extracted both targets and tranq'd half the base (missed the prisoners tho) yet I only got an A.

He doesn't want to [sp]give Dr. Strangelove the last bit of information she'll need to finish Peace Walker's AI and proceed with the nuclear launch and stuff[/sp]
Yeah, I got that now that I played further. I was asking right after meeting Strangelove for the first time.
Ride the truck all the way into the base, then tranq the driver when he stops. Tranq the two guards in the area, hide them from the camera and go down into the boiler room. Interrogate the bald guy twice to get the cassette tape and knock him out.
Go back to the truck, put the driver next to the truck door, kick him to wake him up and then hide in the truck. He'll go alert for a second but it doesn't matter, eventually he'll get in and drive all the way back to the start point, completing the mission and getting you an achievement.
What I did was:
Ride the truck to the gate, when it starts opening go directly right into the door. Tranq the guard walking around that area. Sprint down the stairs, wait for blad dude with tape to turn around if he has not yet. Sneak up on him, grab the tape, and then tranq him. Then back up the stairs, use the Binoculars to mark the soldier that is now standing across from the door. Wait on the left of the door for that soldier to get close to your side. Exit the door quietly and CQC him, knock him out by the neck stuff behind that green thing right there. Sneak over to the back of the truck.

I did that for normal and hard.
I feel like meeting younger FOXHOUND would definitely help bridge the gap between the Phantom Pain and MGS1
We're already meeting Liquid and Psycho Mantis, we've had Ocelot on our side since the 60s, so that just leaves Wolf, Raven and Decoy.
I can see Wolf being a child POW rescued by Big Boss and then being trained by Quiet, not to join in on the awful "all Sniper characters are related" fan-theory, and gaining an affinity for DD. Not to mention that Sniper Wolf would be around 10 according to the wiki, so it's a good fit.
We already had Chico as a 12-year old child soldier in Peace Walker back when we were still the good guys, and we're recruiting (or rescuing, it's pretty unclear) quite a few child soldiers that look younger than 10, so it isn't that much of a stretch.
'Tretij Rebenok' is russian though, and Mantis is russian too
Slovenian/Slovene not russian.
It's possible for a retcon. If they retcon mantis and not gray fox I'll be fuming.

It is Russian, but Google auto-detected Slovenian for me too.
Edit: I was just clarifying the language, why the late rating?
Man I just beat Psycho Mantis, that was some clever shit. Had to Google for it tho :v:

That's what Campbell is for- keep calling him and he'd eventually tell you what to do.

Always call your guys on the codec if you're stuck or don't understand something. They're always super helpful.
Just finished MGS2. I don't see how people find the ending confusing, it all made relative sense to me. Regardless, I'm 40% of the way through the MGS series (I already played GZ and am not going to play PO).

Don't forget Naomi Hunter. IIRC [sp]Gray Fox should be choppin' up her parents right about now.[/sp]
Also IIRC Vulcan Raven joined Fox-Hound circa Metal Gear 2, but of course that can be retconned (especially since it isn't said in-game).

Can you imagine being a kid and playing that shit for the first time? It's still to this day one of the most creative unconventional uses of a console's peripherals I know of.

Recap what you think it means in spoiler tags. Very few people understand it on their first go :v:

[sp]Naomi's parents got chopped up in 79. If Jaegar is in game, we'll definitely see her, but probably not for long. Maybe the force behind Frank joining BB in the first place would be her seeing a future?[/sp]
Raven's backstory says he joined in the early 90's, so I doubt we'll see him in V.
[sp]Frank takes her in as his sister in '79. They later meet Big Boss some time in the '80's, so it's very probable we'll see them in TPP. I'll honestly be a little upset if we don't see him.[/sp]
[sp]If Franky boy does show up, I hope he isn't a sword wielding ninja like he was in POOPs. Just give us the character without the ninja shit attached.[/sp]

Amazing, I didn't even there was a tape in the basement. Always grabbed the one inside the tower.
[sp]If Franky boy does show up, I hope he isn't a sword wielding ninja like he was in POOPs. Just give us the character without the ninja shit attached.[/sp]
He's a badass when it comes to knives and such or so POOPS says. He's got a lot to work with in terms of motive and history plus he ends up becoming top-tier in Foxhound eventually so he'd have to be nearly on-par with Boss in some aspects.
Amazing, I didn't even there was a tape in the basement. Always grabbed the one inside the tower.
Well, it's a bit tricky. If you check the first tape I think you can find out something is wrong with it. But if you follow the guy you knocked out (he wakes up after a while) he meets up with the guy from the basement and you can hear them talk about the exchange being a set up. They hold the exchange guy's family hostage so that's why he's helping them.

Recap what you think it means in spoiler tags. Very few people understand it on their first go :v:
So what happened was this:
[sp]Patriots kicked out Solidus for the Shadow Moses incident
Solidus got pissed off and went into hiding for a while, preparing for an attack on the Patriots.
The Patriots are interested in the idea of Metal Gear and want to work more on it
They somehow recruit Liquid Ocelot to blow up the tanker carrying the Metal Gear RAY
Ocelot gets his friend in Russia to help, the friend brings along Olga
Olga is preggy
Philanthropy finds out about this because they were tipped off by an anon source that later turned out to be one of the Patriots
Snake sneaks on the tanker, knocks Olga out, and sends pics of the RAY to Otacon.
So list of people on the tanker and what happens to them:
Solid Snake: escapes after Ocelot blows up the tanker and helps rescue Olga and her soldiers
Olga's dad: Betrayed and murdered by Ocelot
Marine Commander: Killed by Ocelot
Ocelot: Steals Metal Gear Ray for the Patriots
Olga: rescued by Solid Snake
What happens over next 2 years:
Patriots work on Metal Gear Arsenal and the GW AI system trying to set up a way to censor the Internet
The pictures that Solid took are sent to papers and Philanthropy is smeared as a terrorist organization.
The Marine Commander's daughter is upset about his death and the death of her husband. She joins Dead Cell as Fortune.
Olga gives birth to a kid. The child is kidnapped by the Patriots and held as a bargaining chip to force her to cooperate.
Dead cell rebels against the Patriots 6 months before the Big Shell Incident.
Solidus prepares his revenge plan.
Raiden meets Rose and lives with her while undergoing VR training (the same VR missions that were released alongside with MGS1)
BIG SHELL:
This is going to be complicated so I'll split it into factions.
SONS OF LIBERTY:
Solidus: Wants America to be ruled by him instead of the Patriots. His plan is to steal Arsenal Gear and find out the locations of the 12 members of the Wisemen's committee. Solidus would then give Arsenal Gear to Dead Cell, using them as a diversion as he kills his way through the Wisemen.
Ocelot: Spy for the Patriots, making sure that the situation mirrors the Shadow Moses incident closely.
Liquid Ocelot: Wants to kill the Patriots. Appears in ending of Tanker and Big Shell.
DEAD CELL: Used by the Patriots to mimic the bosses of The Shadow Moses Incident. Established as a SEAL force when Solidus was president.
Fortune: Wants to die because everyone close to her dies. She deflects bullets due to an electromagnetic system placed in her by the Patriots. Killed by Ocelot but saves Solidus, Solid, and Raiden from a RAY missile volley, suggesting that her deflecting abilities weren't fully given by the Patriots.
Vamp: He's a vampire that stabs EE, leading to her death. Apparently killed by Raiden right after he stabs EE.
Fatman: Bomb expert that wanted to be better than his teacher. Almost ruins Solidus's plan by trying to blow up the Big Shell before being killed by Raiden.
Philanthropy:
Otacon: Tech guy for the organization. Saves the hostages and helps Raiden. Responsible for his father's suicide because Otacon fucked his step mom.
Solid Snake: Tipped off about Arsenal somehow and infiltrates the Big Shell. Helps Raiden and mentors him, explaining his philosophy about life.
EE: Otacon's step sister who developed the virus that crippled GW. Killed by Vamp.
FOXHOUND:
Raiden: The unknowing subject of the S3 Project meant to see how soldiers would react to the same situation encountered by Solid Snake at Shadow Moses. A child soldier that was adopted by Solidus Snake before leaving with an NGO to live in America, Raiden prefers to block out his past.
Campbell: Turns out to be an AI controlled by GW.
The Patriots:
Olga/Mr.X: Her purpose in S3 was to fill the role played by Grey Fox in the Shadow Moses incident. She was forced into this role by the Patriots who threatened to kill her child if she didn't comply. Works with Solid Snake out of gratitude for his saving her after the Tanker went down.
Ocelot: Works with the patriots to make sure the Big Shell Incident mirrors Shadow Moses as closely as possible.
Campbell: As mentioned before, an AI. He argues that information should be censored because the average person is too emotional and selfish to interpret the information. An example of his argument would the hug boxes set up by political correctness advocates.
Rose: Raiden's girlfriend and a spy who reported on Raiden to the Patriots. Over the course of the game, they work out the issue of Raiden being distant. Taken hostage by the Patriots later on to make sure Raiden keeps on going through the S3 Plan.
The S3 plan: Solidus snake believes that the S3 plan is meant to create a new Solid Snake but its actual purpose was to test how well the Patriots could manipulate events.
The Big Shell: Metal Gear Arsenal development location covering as an oil spill cleanup site. Destroyed when Metal Gear Arsenal was launched.
Pretty much, the ending was about how the Patriots had control over everything, even plots against them. The conversations with the Campbell AI lead Raiden to doubt himself but Solid Snake reassures him. Rose and him meet up and he proposes to her. The ending phone call reveals that the Patriots also have a hand in Philanthropy[/sp]
Wait until you get to MGS4.
Man I can't figure out a good tactic for S'ing the GZ mission... What's the best way to do it?
Man I can't figure out a good tactic for S'ing the GZ mission... What's the best way to do it?
I heard that you can pretty much do whatever you like in GZ and still get S rank as long as you rescue all the prisoners and don't have to restart from checkpoints. I might be wrong though.
Man I can't figure out a good tactic for S'ing the GZ mission... What's the best way to do it?
I usually go through the middle of the camp to get Paz first and then drop her down by the shore near Chico, call the chopper and then grab Chico. There's surprisingly not that many guards in the middle of the camp.

Save every single prisoner, it'll get you a S Rank regardless of how you play the rest of the mission.

You can restart from checkpoints, it doesn't matter. All that matters is saving the prisoners.
