I only got into Metal Gear after Moby Dick Studios got revealed and every time I look at anything to do with it I just wonder how anyone fell for it... guess you just had to be a part of it, I guess :v:
I thought it was super obvious it was MGS because it looked exactly like the Fox engine.
That trailer still gives me chills. I probably watched it at least 50 times when it was released.
Holy shit that came out in 2012? Man where does the time go...
Holy shit that came out in 2012? Man where does the time go...
And the info about Project Ogre came out back in 2011. They've really been working on this game for a long time. [editline]14th July 2015[/editline] It's interesting that you can see how much it has changed just with one picture. Apparently they removed "Kojima Productions" from the final cover shot. it looks naked without it
Quite ironic that a developer, who is making a game thematically centered around the implications of removing identifying characteristics from society, is the victim of having its own identity erased from its product. GG Konami, it's not like Kojima has been responsible for your only critical successes in the last 8 years. Hope those pachinko machines work out well for you.

They just put the fox logo in the beginning without it saying "kojima productions. I know they were disbanded, but not putting their logo on their final game is pretty fucking cuntish.
Maybe it's all part of Kojima's wacky ruse cruise to pull off a huge marketing stunt. While they are not in the FOX era anymore after MGS3, Big Boss keeps the FOX insignia as a memento in Peace Walker, Ground Zeroes and Phantom Pain. Kojima Productions is using the same Logo for their company. In Phantom Pain, all about FOX becomes forgotten, the past gets erased and we are slowly stepping forward into the MG and MGS 1 (FOXHOUND) era. You know what this means? Kojima Productions comes back in 2018 with a Metal Gear remake and a new identity. :v: Oh and Kiefer Sutherland is the new director and producer. Edit: Post was a joke.
ruse theory
I've thought about that often. With the game being centered around losing speech and identity, with characters literally losing their voice or losing it in a very meta way, and with KojiPro having its "identity" removed, it makes for some good ruse cruise material. I'm actually surprised someone hasn't done a large comprehensive theory on it yet. Only problem with it though is that it essentially requires Kojima and his staff to be okay with the shit working conditions they've been subjugated to (assuming that they're real) and for del Toro to be in on it too, with Silent Hills being canceled due to KojiPro being "shut down". If this does end up being a ruse, it'll make MGS2 look insignificant in comparison.
Honestly i'm expecting a ruse cruise because it'll be Kojima's final MGS game. Maybe something leading to MG1, but simultaneously something that's just gonna utterly fuck with us unless Kojima completely lacks subtlety this go around like MGS4. [editline]14th July 2015[/editline] Also I can't believe it's already been just over a year since the Nuclear trailer.
Just played through GZ on ps4 since it was free, I can't tell what framerate it ran at If it was 30 then that's a magnificent 30. I think il just grab tpp on ps4 and not bother with the delay, that and there's a lower chance of having cheaters in MP, and that it's a lot easier to detect console mods
MGSV runs at 1080p 60fps on current gen

I always have seen that logo as ridiculous, how inside the canon FOXHOUND used that before their well-known logo is something that I don't understand
Only problem with it though is that it essentially requires Kojima and his staff to be okay with the shit working conditions they've been subjugated to (assuming that they're real) and for del Toro to be in on it too, with Silent Hills being canceled due to KojiPro being "shut down". Also since we returned to this topic, what happened at the end with that doctor that wanted to transplant a head? Last thing I heard, he and Kojima were going to the judge.
MGS2 had a ruse too?
It's not a big deal anymore because everyone knows about it but MGS2's marketing campaign hid Raiden and almost all of the Big Shell chapter before release. It was assumed that Snake will still be the main protagonist. It's the origin of Kojima's ruse cruise.

Oh and Kiefer Sutherland is the new director and producer.
honestly, i doubt it. there's no way that konami would want to endure such a massive hit to their PR in western markets like this. people are shitting on them absolutely everywhere and there have been numerous internal reports about restructuring and shit like that. you don't do that willy nilly because it'll send your stock prices into turmoil. granted before everything hit the fan, yes, they delisted themselves on the NY stock exchange, but they're still public in tokyo afaik. they're first and foremost a business and they wouldn't play games with their shit that intensely especially considering japanese businesses reputation for conservatism and risk aversion. that said it would be pretty neat if it were all part of the ruise
How much money do you think Kojima could make if he decided to do a crowd-fund for his own studio?
I always have seen that logo as ridiculous, how inside the canon FOXHOUND used that before their well-known logo is something that I don't understand
"Ridicilous" military insignias and logos are not uncommon, it's part of the units or squadrons identity and they often go wild with it. It's what makes the "old" Foxhound logo more believeable to me than the FOX logo for a military unit in 1964. I'm more upset by how bad the cover is.
what's wrong with the cover?
what's wrong with the cover?
Konami made the title and V shit brown.
