God fucking damnit I just watched that analysis video (all hour and 42 minutes!) and now my brain hurts. Certainly seems to make a lot of sense in my eyes!

[sp]Cant wait for sick Metal Gear vs. Metal Gear fights in MGSV.[/sp]
The sneaking suit completely silences your footsteps, you can run around with it and no one will hear you.
Yeah you can S rank most missions with it just by running through and only stopping to CQC/hold-up/tranq the guys in your way.
Does upgrading the Analyzer over time make it more efficient at longer ranges? If so I could probably scout out an area and not even bother with tranqs everywhere as a result.

I don't see Volgin's robo arm, just looks like his sleeve to me.

Yeah it also increases the speed and accuracy. If you haven't filled up Mother Base yet you should use all of your fultons per mission anyway to level up your departments, and fire the lower rank ones when you're out of room.
I like how MGS5 is like a bigger and better Peace Walker, with an expanded base building feature and improved soldier recruiting. And an open ended sandbox mission based structure.
I'm gonna make the coziest mother base of all so Alligator can rest in peace whenever he's not on a mission.

I find it funny how everyone like independently likes alligator. I thought it was just me for a while.

This might sound dumb, but I always thought that Kojima had this thing with MGS where he'd make a game, then make a sequel that improved on the same basic format - so like, MGS1+2, MGS3+4, and MGS:PW+MGSV (if you count Ground Zeroes as being part of MGSV) (and discounting Portable Ops etc). They're all more alike in their pairs than they are in any other combination imo
Also, does anyone have that YouTube video of the music in the three minute Quiet cinematic? I remember someone posted a clean version of it but I can't for the life of me find it anywhere. I think it had a title that was something to do with Big Boss but can't remember exactly what it was.
It's because PW was meant to be MGS5 but they knew that would piss westerners off big time.
I like to think that PW is MGS5 and GZ+TPP are MGSV.
I still remember the PW teases that had Richard Doyle.

Here it is

On the very same page there are other sketches of him without it, maybe he was meant to lose his arm at some point during the game? Or maybe it was just a concept that they quickly abandoned.

Oh whoops, I was looking at this.

Some of these scrapped sketches, especially the "number" characters are really fucking cool. I hope wherever Shinkawa goes he gets the opportunity to make some designs like we've never seen before.
Kojima is going on a Mad Max analysis run on Twitter, he really liked the movie lol
MGSV confirmed to be bundled with Nvidia cards on Newegg.

The man is a gigantic Mad Max fan, I wouldn't be surprised if there isn't at least one reference in V.
Speaking of movies, my friend and I realized Otacon's last name (Emmerich) is just a big reference to the director Roland Emmerich. Not that surprised!

Alligator was always overpowered as hell, with stats better than Big Boss. I've owned all three versions of Peace Walker, and this was always the case.
The man's a legend.

We have a leather jacket, a double barreled shotgun, and a dog.
Literally all we need is a V8 Interceptor, and we already have jeeps.
I wouldn't mind a Mad Max styled leather jacket like with the whole missing sleeve or something
Anyone got that "what I played, what I expected, what I got" pic for MGS3 where "what I got" is just pictures pf Ocelot's finger pose all over?
So we know that Kojima likes to take inspiration from western culture for MGS, but I wonder if he takes inspiration from any specific japanese movies or books. I can only think of a few examples which may have been an inspiration for characters in MGSV.
he got all of his inspiration from metal gear
Started Metal Gear Rising on Hard Mode... is it just me or do the fights feel so artificial when enemy cyborgs have EVEN MORE health?
Guess that'll hopefully change after the prologue, or maybe I'm too used to Sam's blade.

So after dying miserably twice to Metal Gear RAY, I then managed to beat him easily without taking damage. Go figure. :v:

the harder the difficulty the more dmg counters do
the entire thing becomes dark souls parry 2: electric boogaloo
This is only my third playthrough but I'm so glad I've been reunited with my glorious Murasama Blade
And here I am, not even being able to beat the meme guy on normal dificulty
you mean this thing that they once mentioned like someone is attacking you and you move stick in their direction and press a button and he strikes back?
I have never managed to do that in-game, not even once

Flick the left stick in their direction and hit X
Unless you're not playing with a gamepad in which case get a gamepad
I still don't get how some players manage to brute-force their way through Revengeance without learning how to Parry. It's one thing to not succeed at perfect parries, at least until harder difficulties, but the idea that someone has beaten the entire game using nothing but the base blocking, maybe Offensive Defensive, and base blade mode is staggering. Ripper Mode and FOX Blade aside.
In other subject matter, I really don't know what to expect from Kojima with MGS5. Tapes are one thing, but with Yong Yea's theories there's definitely gonna be some spooky shit, and I have this feeling that things are gonna get nasty in terms of human experimentation or other such subject matter.
