Liquid was told he was inferior by a Big Boss constantly treating him like shit and putting him down, supposedly, so I imagine he was ignorant to his superhuman endurance and mostly just wanted to fuck Solid's shit up.

I'm hoping that MGSV takes place over a span of a few years so we can see Eli grow into an awkward teenage phase.
