Just saw this, don't know if it was posted, sorry if it was, but CIG won't be there physically at the PC show http://www.reddit.com/r/starcitizen/comments/366r6k/just_so_everybody_knows_cig_will_not_be_at_the/ but they/Chris Roberts will have a video message http://www.pcgamer.com/more-developers-announced-for-the-pc-gaming-show-at-e3/#comment-2037882465
They aren't there physically, but they're participating via a video message from Chris.

New Half-Life
NEXT Half-Life
NEXT Half-Life
I don't even give a fuck if it's a 3. Make the equivalent of Half-Life 2: Blue Shift/Opposing Force. I mean, this would work better if they'd actually completed the story and could go through the episodes with it, but Half-Life is one of the universes I really love and I'm thoroughly disappointed in the fact that it's just going to lay dead since they can't really make HL3 due to them fucking up the ending of HL2:EP2. Hell, even if Valve made it a 4-player co-op shooter that goes through the story of a few rebels or some shit(which is more than likely if they do come back to it since iirc they're not doing singleplayer-only games anymore) I'd love it more than nothing.
They will never retcon World of Warcraft. :P
They don't need to, with the whole alternate timeline thing they're in a perfect position to do a wc4.

IIRC Gabe wants Valve to shift towards more multiplayer ventures, which is all fine and good, but there's a reason the new Wolfenstein got a lot of praise. It actually had a single player campaign in a FPS after years and years of multiplayer focused games (it was also just plain good, that helps obviously). I think a new single player Half-Life could bring back a trend of games more like Wolfenstein. Hell, they could throw the multiplayer people a bone by bringing back Half-Life Deathmatch.
Just really want hear some more news about Mass Effect 4, Fallout 4, No Man's Sky, or Star Wars Battlefront at this years E3.
What I realistically want to see: -MGS5 -FF15 -Uncharted 4 -Battlefront -Some more CoD gameplay to see if it's worth anything -Close to done The Division? What I would REALLY like to see: -Metal Gear Rising 2 -Fallout 4 -TES VI -New Rockstar game -Cyberpunk 2077 -Star Wars: 1313 revived! -Mass Effect 4 -Half Life 3 -KOTOR 3 I'd be incredibly surprised if I got even 1 of these ^
Wait what's this about Mass effect 4? I thought the Reapers were dealt with and [sp]shepard dies in most cases[/sp]. What can they possible do
What can they possible do
Milk a franchise
I can't wait until they announce the next assassins creed and call of duty game
-Close to done The Division?
We'll definitely see some more gameplay but it probably isn't close to done seeing as how it was pushed to 2016.
Wait what's this about Mass effect 4? I thought the Reapers were dealt with and [sp]shepard dies in most cases[/sp]. What can they possible do
They can set it in an entirely different galaxy with new enemies, characters, aliens etc. There isn't much else they can do without deciding what choices are canon, and even then there's probably still some things that don't really make much sense despite the extended version. Making it so the choices from previous games don't have much relevance or can just be completely ignored would solve that problem.
Wait what's this about Mass effect 4? I thought the Reapers were dealt with and [sp]shepard dies in most cases[/sp]. What can they possible do
I think I've heard something about ME4 being from someone else's perspective but in the same timespan. (If this is true, it would be so cool if importing your ME3 save means your choices affect ME4 - even more than how it worked in previous versions)
Wait what's this about Mass effect 4? I thought the Reapers were dealt with and [sp]shepard dies in most cases[/sp]. What can they possible do
If the leaks are anything to go by, same universe, different galaxy, expedition team sent in case shit went down in the Reaper war. No Shepard or old characters, but races are the same.
If the leaks are anything to go by, same universe, different galaxy, expedition team sent in case shit went down in the Reaper war. No Shepard or old characters, but races are the same.
What expedition? And where was it sent to? And how do you know all this?
check the mass effect thread for all related leak info
Those leaks aren't trustworthy in my opinion, so don't get too excited about anything yet.
I recall it being said in the announcement of Mass Effect 4 being in production that the game would have an exploration focus (with a new better Mako), rather than the combat focus of the trilogy. The pictures so far kind of have the same nostalgic space feel of the first game so that would be neat. Cautiously optimistic about HL3.
Half life is their only single player IP other than Portal, which is still in the HL universe [editline]26th May 2015[/editline] I really doubt they would remove what makes their biggest title what it is
Then they'll never make another Portal or Half-Life game unless singleplayer games make a huge smash into popularity.
One day ... Beyond good an evil 2 ... One day
I wonder if there will be anything I give a fuck about. Nah. Video games are dead. Everything is a shit sequel, a shit rehash, or just a shit game.
I wonder if there will be anything I give a fuck about. Nah. Video games are dead. Everything is a shit sequel, a shit rehash, or just a shit game.
I hope I don't get as cynical as you one day.
I wonder if there will be anything I give a fuck about. Nah. Video games are dead. Everything is a shit sequel, a shit rehash, or just a shit game.
/v/ plz go
Those leaks aren't trustworthy in my opinion, so don't get too excited about anything yet.
No leak is trustworthy. Leaks are fundamentally untrustworthy unless there is irrefutable proof that it's true.
I'm kinda hoping for some Mafia 3. EDIT OS detected as Windows and user agent detected as Safari while I'm on android using chrome. WTF
Those leaks aren't trustworthy in my opinion, so don't get too excited about anything yet.
Honestly, I think they are. But I'd be happy if they weren't, the whole dropping the ME universe like a ton of bricks, despite how much they have to work with, doesn't sit well with me.
Then they'll never make another Portal or Half-Life game unless singleplayer games make a huge smash into popularity.
You mean games like GTAV, Skyrim, TLoU, TW3 and so on? It's not about being popular. Gabe even said they could have made HL sequel after sequel and become successful at just that, but they chose a different route. It's Valve finding a new workflow that works better for them. Instead of crunching on this new big game and coming up or cast away new tech on the way only for most of the players to finish it in a weekend and to never return, they have a more continuous cycle. They release a moderate or decent base game and start iterating and add content to it on a constant (Valve Time) basis. And the playerbase stays and they have a constant revenue flow. For the last 5 or so years it's been all about Games-as-a-Service for them. And if the majority of devs decide to join that small HL team (which may not even exist anymore) to finally make the game, it's going to have some elements of that in it.
I wonder if there will be anything I give a fuck about. Nah. Video games are dead. Everything is a shit sequel, a shit rehash, or just a shit game.
What the fuck. Do you also think that there aren't any good movies, books or music anymore? You must be the fun at parties.
What the fuck. Do you also think that there aren't any good movies, books or music anymore? You must be the fun at parties.
I may be cynical about the state of triple-A games myself, but certainly not that cynical. There's still some notable or standout titles, I just personally avoid the sequelitis bullshit unless a specific game of a series looks interesting enough on its own.
