Technicalia Ultra Modded Minecraft - 171 mods - Now with more lag!

[QUOTE=HeroicPillow;46808075]our entities hovers around 10k most of the time, if even that
chunks loaded hovers around 1k like usual after the chunk loader wipe
ram has 1GB free most of the time, so even at 3GB the server is fine. not sure why you guys are still going on about RAM when it's already been confirmed that it's not the problem
network I/O seems to be fine as well, seeing as chat messages are instantaneous even when the server lag is happening
and the TPS is still near maxed at all times. from what i've overheard from OPs, the CPU is greatly underutilized so that's not really a bottleneck either. Although it's possible that forge bugged out and is throttling itself somehow
have you ran diagnostics on the HDD/SSD recently?
main thing is that the lag happens in massive spikes. 10-50 seconds of being able to do nothing, then 10 seconds or so of lag free play.

i'd be fine with a reset if i can get most of my basic materials after the reset
like, "essence orb [WIP]", "master infusion stone", enchanted "essence infused pickaxe", "MFR planter/fertilizer/harvester" with "emerald upgrades",
the grind for magic crops is unreal and i'd rather not go through that again
i spent a lot of time fucking around with my base, and i'd rather not lose it, but if it's wiped i'll just try and join up with someone else who's fine with having magic crops already maxed out[/QUOTE]
If anything, the CPU is being maxed out more than memory restrictions.
[editline]27th December 2014[/editline]
Hence the low TPS.

our TPS sits at 18-19 at all times, even/especially when lagging severely
before the chunkloader wipe it was low but nobody got kicked
after the chunkloader wipe it's near max at all times but everyone gets kicked
Actually that information is really fucking helpful
shit, I might have just realized something. I'll have to run some tests, but I might have a reason for why things are lagging a bit.
Have any of you people in charge thought about removing broken mods or mods that people don't use? I'm not sure how much this would help with performance but I think it might.
We need a poll or something so we can see what mods are used and what mods aren't.
Maybe we each can make a list of mods that we used/didn't use/would like added in a pastebin post.

I'd like to see MFR not affect worldgen outside of trees.
The constant sewage/sludge ponds are quite annoying.

I only disagree because I actually seek out sewage and drum it up. Not as good as 40+ cows and a sewer, but it can be turned into fertilizer.
technic got a new launcher, so i made some new graphics
people weren't fond of the pink so i went with shitty vibrant bluegreen i hope your happy

the launcher/website is also erroring the fuck out so i'm guessing either they're getting ddos'd or all of the new changes they made to the launcher are wrecking their servers

hahahaha what the fuck
i log into the server for a sec, go up to my farm where all of my cows went missing and saw this
[t]http://i.imgur.com/GHl7V7B.png[/t]
is our problem that cows went missing and then respawned but still existed and were in the 4th dimension actively mooing constantly??
literally my entire base is just flooded with cows

I'll have the server reset and all mods updated by Thursday
This time i'll probably refrain from building in the middle of the ocean :v:
An underwater city would've been cool, but quarrying to bedrock to give sufficient vertical space (and the endless draining of oil to clear the path for the quarry) was really time-consuming. Plus I think the biome determines the plentifulness of certain things, like emeralds.
Macala and I just walked for five minutes and set up shop on the coast of the main continent. I'm probably gonna go a bit farther unless I find something nice.

The story of my life. Pro-tip from an island dweller: Don't live on an island. Doing anything instantly requires a fuckload more resources and time.
What if the server had a special terrain generatior, like [url=http://www.minecraftforum.net/forums/mapping-and-modding/minecraft-mods/1281910-teds-world-gen-mods-rwg-owg-bwg4]this here[/url]
That "realistic" version is pretty rad.
[QUOTE=Ehmmett;46832234]but does it also generate with mod content?[/QUOTE]
i just threw it into the currect technicalia pack and flew around a bit, also dug down quite a ways to check if modded ores spawned

(fortress isn't exactly modded content but thought it was funny seeing a sandstone tower in this land)
yep sure does make it happen bananaguy
Bananaguy reporting in :/
Banana + Bandana = Banandana
Working on the updates now.
[editline]1st January 2015[/editline]
Engineer's toolbox being removed
[editline]1st January 2015[/editline]
This will take longer than I had expected. Expect huge changes.
[editline]1st January 2015[/editline]
If anyone is interested in watching me work on this /fun/ stuff, I'm streaming it because I'm bored.

What's the most likely reason for a blackscreen on startup?
idk
[editline]1st January 2015[/editline]
Client wasn't really meant to be installed while I was working on it fyi
Try restarting it or reinstalling the actual modpack
[editline]1st January 2015[/editline]
Client version is out.
Server is being worked on. ETA 20 minutes until new world.
[B]We will have a trial. In the case that any huge worldgen issues come up in the next 3 days, the world will be reset without warning or backup. Be forewarned.[/B]
[editline]1st January 2015[/editline]
Quick clientside update to 2.51, had a bit of a bug
[editline]1st January 2015[/editline]
So the server just committed suicide and kills itself randomly without any log or crash report. I'm going to delay this because this is literally the worst case scenario. I opened a support ticket too.

If you attempt to play with the pack in singleplayer, it hangs for a few after the downloading resources messages. Then it shuts down the internal server and closes the game.
[url=http://pastebin.com/EwuUjfmG]According to the crash report, the singleplayer problem is something with extra utilities[/url]. No clue if its related to the server suicide.

damn son
extra utilities pipes are so bad they're now doing an infinite recursive loop leading to a stack overflow
[editline]2nd January 2015[/editline]
actually i just played singleplayer for like 20+ minutes using version 2.51 of technicalia without any errors or crashes
nice that we finally have the chromaticraft lexicon in as well
[editline]2nd January 2015[/editline]
can you add rei's minimap to the pack when you update it again as well? thx
most of us just add it ourselves anyways...
Well it looks to be up at the moment, can't guarantee it'll be up long though
Seems pretty stable so far.
Also holy shit you can knock limbs off of zombies.
Also, apparently creepers can destroy blocks now.
I found a village near the spawn. I'm going to make it into a kingdom.
Server's fine aside from the fact that spawn is hell.
Screenshots of new world gen anyone? (I hate my download speed. :suicide:)
(I mean on the server. The mod page pics are all fine and dandy but actual results obviously vary)
Still crashes just as the actual game is about to start(be it single or multiplayer) due to the extra utility pipes. Did the whole delete and reinstall pack dealy to no avail. Might just be bad luck on my end though as someone apparently is on the server at the moment.
..................................It looks like it may be related to Rei's Minimap. [url]https://github.com/rwtema/extrautilities/issues/406[/url] AKA its a good thing it wasn't included as part of the pack as probably everyone here would have had the same issue.
There's a bunch of us on the server right now and there's no trouble on our end.
