All I know is I once had a base where I used Mekanism cables and my FPS dropped to the low 20s and below when I was near my machinery. Once I replaced them all with redstone conduits my FPS shot up to 75 minimum.
I'm not trying to sound like an ass but what am I supposed to do about it? If someone can check if another less laggy cable is in every way superior and works with Mekanism shit I can change the crafting recipe of Mekanism cables to the superior cable type [editline]29th November 2014[/editline] Essentially removing them from circulation and out of the game
It probably causes FPS issues, but server lag(the larger issue) has been largely fixed by Mekanism's developer last I heard.
idk if this wass addressed but the open blocks book kicks me out
Server appears to be down
Should be up unless something fucked up

Does anyone have greatwood or silverwood saplings? Found none of them so far :c
i have tons of the trees around me so i can probably grab you one later i remember i normally got 1 sapling for every ~2 trees i broke on the last server i fooled around with thaumcraft on also i have a question about power systems in general because i'm trying to automate my farm and i've got it almost fully set up but i've never done the "industrial" side of minecraft before. i've mostly stuck with the adventure/magic mods before so i'm kind of going headfirst into a huge mess of multiple industrial systems simultaneously but i'll ask it in a couple of hours when i'm off of work so i can better explain it
Found a bunch of greatwood, just need a silverwood sapling. Also did a nice bit of exploring, my place is at the bottom centre. http://i.imgur.com/UJbTCXB.jpg
okay so basically here's the thing with my farm setup first power system i learned was IC2, which apparently doesn't play nicely with most mods at all. so i set out to try and convert the power system to a different power and got myself even more confused I have MFR harvester/planter/fertilizer set up here, with random pipes leading everywhere while i try to figure out how to power everything (all i need is some emeralds for the biggest MFR upgrade but that's irrelevant right now. would be nice if i could find a village nearby tho) [t]http://i.imgur.com/n6L3KfK.jpg[/t][t]http://i.imgur.com/CTIza4C.png[/t] i created a semi working example using IC2 power, but couldn't figure out how to get the power into RF format [t]http://i.imgur.com/HVzn9Vq.png[/t] i already have fertilizer getting made, and i can drastically increase sewage output if needed, but since i don't know how to get a steady power up and running it's just kind of sitting there right now [t]http://i.imgur.com/uH11nFY.png[/t] so i tried making a biofuel reactor from MFR which seems like it would do something equivalent to the IC2 setup i have but not sure how it works or how to get anything out of it i just read a few other pages just now and it seems it needs no power to work, so just pumping excess shit into it should be fine, but i guess it won't do anything unless i attach fluid pipes to it so that might've been my problem ... is there a better way to power all of this? because as it stands now i'm thinking of just trying to power it with a biofuel reactor/generator pair? i've read about nuclear reactors and all that but i don't think i'm ready to learn about those quite yet wouldn't it be super nice if all of the industrial mods created "energy" and attached to each other as "item pipes" or "fluid pipes" or "energy pipes" and worked interchangeably like ores? yea that would be nice ... like yea there's obvious balance issues but that's why you just would have forge handle all of the balancing on the backend by having the mod give a "power scale" and then convert the power automatically between mods
I know that power conversion sucks but there's not a whole lot we can do about it. I'd come up with some way of doing things but it'd require a lot of code rewriting. RF is becoming the standard but there are some mods that won't use it and don't plan on it, like IC2 and RotaryCraft. [editline]1st December 2014[/editline] I did add power converters so if you make a centralized power infrastructure, you can have all 3 kinds of power on tap.
I did add power converters so if you make a centralized power infrastructure, you can have all 3 kinds of power on tap.
i remember fooling around with power converters in creative mode to try and figure it out, but some of the recipes for them make no sense at all so i gave up i just noticed there's actually a 2nd page to the recipes tho so that helps a ton haha these two recipes are the first one you see [t]http://i.imgur.com/6pdhday.png[/t] top one: 2x copper gear, which is 10 copper ingots 2x tin gear, 10 tin ingots 1x leadstone energy cell, which requires too many advanced things to count 1x redstone reception cell, 2x redstone, 1x gold ingots etc etc and so on you'd have to be a masochist to craft this bottom one: 1x block of redstone, which is 9 redstone, simple enough 8x diamond kinesis pipe, which is 2x diamond, 1x glass, 8x redstone this one isn't too bad in hindsight, but the 2x diamond is a little much when starting out and here's the second page, which i didn't notice before [t]http://i.imgur.com/YdoXKns.png[/t] the one on the top is extremely simple to get materials for 1x diamond, 2x glass, 4x gold ingots, 2x redstone if only i would've seen this earlier instead of the two horrifying ones on the first page then there's this one which requires more processed materials like the one in that first image: 2x tin plates, which requires 2 processed iron ingots 4x insulated gold cables, which requires 8x rubber, and 2-ish cut gold ingots 2x batbox, which requires a whole ton of extra processing and a ton of tin ingots 1x diamond, like before
I know that power conversion sucks but there's not a whole lot we can do about it. Excellent looking pack. Going to try it out. i love how ores of the same name are basically interchangeable now tho
Only problem is though that you have to deal with 5 different looking and non-stacking yet compatible variations of the same ore. Also annoying in particular for ingots because you'll have multiple types of said ingot (copper is a good example of this) that look different and can't be used in the same spot for a crafting recipe.

Nice to know there's a way to fix that little annoyance. Also, this is going to sound stupid and outlandish, but I kinda want to build a seriously scaled down version of Helios One.
I'm beginning work on pushing the delayed 2.00 update [editline]1st December 2014[/editline] Ok yeah I'll push another update because LogisticsPipes fucks up
let me tell you a story about my trip to the nether i drill my way to the coordinates needed to link up to my nether portal, which happens to conveniently be in a spherical pre-generated room, for which i needed to mine directly into the side of a "mountain" for an extremely long distance i come back later, hoping to expand downwards and get to the lowest z-level, so i bring some decent tools and some ladders like a dunce, i'm mining the block directly under myself because i forgot the very basic rule of minecraft. 3 blocks later, and i'm falling to my death into a sea of lava this is a picture i took after i finally got back [t]http://i.imgur.com/MuOEyI6.png[/t] on my way down to retrieve it i managed to get sniped by a ghast or some other exploding projectile creature and fell off the rope. burning in the great sea of lava once again. thx ghastly thing on my 3rd attempt i managed to at least block off the (now 2) gravestones [t]http://i.imgur.com/ITUbNoa.png[/t] that brought about a dilemma; how do i safely retrieve my items?? but overcoming all odds, i managed to somehow do it [t]http://i.imgur.com/PMjNpQq.png[/t] and that is why you always follow the first rule of minecraft. "don't mine directly under yourself"
Banan, here's yo crash log: http://pastebin.com/ZhG2jWW8
Thanks. Seeing as I just crashed two people I'll be happy to fix it.
rule #1 of [sp]hatch doors[/sp] don't have a torch in your hand while trying to use them crash log from that http://pastebin.com/avCQjwaL
And boom goes dimension 6.
sheeeeiiiiiiiit nigga
Uhh, tried to join the server (latest pack version), and I'm getting a metric fuckton of mod rejections (and a forced disconnect.). Edit: Whoops forgot to restart the launcher to actually update to the newest pack. Edit: Interestingly enough, the pack on the tekkit launcher gives a message about the pack being offline or something. Edit: So I may have crashed the server... Tried to read the open blocks world domination book and I got kicked with internal server error. Also, what books are you supposed to start out with? I accidentally dropped one yesterday while my internet was being stupid (while joining for the first time.) Edit: Oh good, it didn't crash.
The latest pack version is 2.03 [editline]2nd December 2014[/editline] Sometimes it says the pack is offline but I can't seem to figure out why. It happens at random. In any case, I'm guessing you figured things out? Update 2.03 fixes malisis doors crashing when opening certain doors. It also fixes crashes when creating a portal to the mining world.
The mob spawns are fucking insane in the roguelike dungeons. Almost entirely depleted my nanosuit armour. Then mastfire got teleported to me somehow, I killed a named skeleton, and weird things kept happening. I thought one mostly-harmless thaumcraft research would be safe :c [editline]2nd December 2014[/editline] Is there a shortcut to automatically stack items in inventory to the same item type stacks in a chest?
Is there a shortcut to automatically stack items in inventory to the same item type stacks in a chest?
shift+click on the item when the chest is open to auto stack it into the chest stacks there's an option to enable "middle click to sort" in NEI too i believe which is what i use after shift+clicking to quick sort it
R sorts inventory
Didn't seem to do anything, even after removing the other 2 or 3 binds that conflicted with it. [editline]2nd December 2014[/editline] What mod does this? Is it related to the bizarrely named skeletons?
Sounds like a case of Flim Flam?
