Lots of people with varying systems have been complaining about the game barely working, and yet it runs perfectly for me with everything maxed. People with better computers than me are having trouble. Maybe they happened to develop the game on an i7 920 with a 5870 graphics card or something.

Yeah, I'm just waiting for them to optimize the fuck out of it. Once they do, this game will be a lot more enjoyable.
Beta starts on the 26th. NDA will still be in effect for the alpha, but the beta won't have one.

I'm not sure how that's supposed to work.
downloaded the beta and launched it. to be honest I'm not a fan with some of the new icons and buttons, they look low quality, especially the mech customization icons. I also don't like how much more they limited customization as a whole. You can't buy a new alt primary weapon and every mech only has 1 other body option and it's always from another mech. there's also less mechs to choose from.
they did add level progression though, and some new utilities and class based skills. also a friends list and mail.

the client is up for download already, you just can't play any games since the servers aren't up.

Downloaded the new client. Bought the sharpshooter mech and coloured it in the most offensive colours possible. Now I just need those servers to start popping up.
Got me a brawler and it's all kitted out. Now to just wait.
I hope things have been optimized since the alpha. I wasn't able to run this too terribly well, even on all low settings.

it's the hawken beta it's designed to get you frustrated that way when you finally get to playing it you aren't as disappointed of their lack of content as you would be if the game opened up fine
i finally got into a game and had to leave it

I just restarted the game and it worked fine for me
You have to login in the launcher and then it should automatically log you in ingame
Well runs okay-ish on all low. I was playing on a Toshiba Satellite P745 anyway so i guess those with better pc's/laptops will have great performance

Yeah, it runs pretty nicely for me and loads almost instantly.
Although the server browser says that all the servers have a ping of 0, so I haven't found a server with a good ping yet. Anybody know if there are any New Zealand/Australian servers?

Yeah the default settings are very motion sick inducing. But last time I played there was some settings you could turn all the way down to turn off the crazy bobbing. I don't remember where that setting is though.

also seriously sharpshooter is amazing
won DM 4 times in a row after figuring out how to fucking use the garage menu, there really needs to be a "SAVE" button because shit keeps getting un-done if I exit in the wrong way
