it seems hackers are already in the game i tried asking a guy for water, then i started punching him and he ran through a fence.
The thing is, hacks for games like DayZ / H1Z1 sells like hot cakes. Some dudes are living from the money they make from these hacks, for some it's basically their job. Since nobody want to lose their job, they will try all they can to still produce hacks for these games no matter what. That being said, it was probably lag or desync.
yeah i'm thinking it was lag since my internet connection randomly disconnects when i play this game.
this game is fun and has potential
yeah i'm thinking it was lag since my internet connection randomly disconnects when i play this game.
There's some hackers on H1Z1, without a single doubt, but they already started to lay out some HWID bans anyway. I wouldn't worry too much. If they do the same thing as PS2 ( IP + MAC + HWID bans ) it will filter the hackers in a very, very good way. Most of the hackers are nothing else than uneducated 14 years old kids with too much money, therefore they pay a subscription, hack for a few days, and get their stupid ass banned. On a game like DayZ, bans aren't the end of the world since you buy a new cheap key on a new account, and you're ready to go again. On Planetside 2 ( which is the same thing as H1Z1 to some extent ) you get your whole network ( IP + MAC ) and computer ( HWID ) banned. You can still bypass that, but it's much, much more annoying and complicated for a 14 years old kid than buying a new game and creating an account.
Something like this happened to me on a PvE server.
Out of curiosity, why would you bother hiding on a PvE server? Players wouldn't be able to hurt you anyway, right? Also, here was my story: I was playing with a few friends the other day and we were trying to find eachother. Two of them grouped up, and I ended up wandering into Cranberry by myself thinking I was in Pleasant Valley. I was half dead and near starvation due to previous antics on that characters (beating down a group of 3 axe wielding retards with my firsts) but I was able to find a hatchet, backpack, food, helmet and enough shirts and hats to make bandages out of. I end up killing one fresh spawn who was trying to murder me with his prickerbush branch and hide in a building. I take cover in an office building and see a guy standing near a wall with a red motorcycle helmet and a bow. I carefully line up my shot with my shitty bow- like 2 inches above his head and fire. Arrow lands at his feet, but he heard the sound and immediately stated chasing me. Chase goes on for about 10 minutes with him making kissing noises while wildly missing me with his own shitty bow. I mock him the entire time about how awful a shot he is. Eventually we start ending out 2-3km loop and end up back at cranberry. My stamina is about 20% at this point so I figured I needed to attack right away with my hatchet or die. I start knocking the SHIT out of this guy. He KEEPS trying to hit me with his shitty bow while I'm strafing right next to him whacking away. Eventually he tried to run and made it about 10 feet before he bled to death. Mocked him excessively through VOIP. Got a lot of food + new helmet and arrows from the guy, but I took 1 arrow in the chest and was reduced to 11 hp. Spent the next 30 minutes running from axe wielding freshspawn and then again running from some random helmet wearing asshole who popped out from behind a rock. Game is intense when you are always below 50 hp. This session also illustrated how utterly and completely useless the makeshift bow is for PvP combat. The arrow moves slow as fuck, the drop is horrendous, it takes 3 shots to the chest to down a player, and you are reduced to inching around when you have an arrow nocked(?). I don't understand why people wouldn't just opt for the "riskier" and more consistent option of melee weapons. Not to mention, it is waaaay too easy to simply ignore a bow user at any real distance. Oh, you're trying to hit me from more than 2 feet away? If I don't want to fight, I'll just run in the opposite direction and you will never hit me. If I do want to fight, I'll just sprint towards you and zigzag like crazy since I know you're not going to make that headshot and you're fucked because you can't move out of the way. Is there some sort of special trick or method of using bows effectively?
I've been wondering, what do you actually get from winning the Battle Royale?
I've been wondering, what do you actually get from winning the Battle Royale?
A Mass murderer title.
- Entered a PvE server - Can't find any loot besides berries and sticks - Craft a shit ton of arrows - Found another player - Start punching him because I know it does nothing in PvE and I didn't have anything besides 40 arrows I crafted - He runs away scared shitless, attracting zombies and closing doors behind him to try to get away from me - Acted like I was going away, came back and kept punching him. - Seriously this guy has no idea he's on a PvE server - Runs away towards open field - Eventually gives up and just takes it like a man - Satisfied with my harmless punching session, I give him all of my arrows as he has a bow and I don't - Start walking away - Look behind me - A bear just killed the poor guy :v: 11/10
What if he was being chased by a bear the whole time and you didn't notice :v:
It's crazy how the zombie AI is affected by server framerate ( and your overall latency ). Managed to play on a EU server for once ( only managed to get in the US ones so far, fuck being stuck one hour in a queue ) and i pretty much got my shit raped by zombies right off.
We are the worst people.
I dont get why people even use VOIP or text chat in the first place, just shoot everyone on sight.
idk maybe because they want to have fun
I dont get why people even use VOIP or text chat in the first place, just shoot everyone on sight.
Because it's fucking boring as fuck.
I dont get why people even use VOIP or text chat in the first place, just shoot everyone on sight.
because guns are rare, bows suck DICK, and most combat devolves into prolonged chases or awkward punching matches. Who wouldn't take the opportunity to taunt the other guy?

Also I killed a zombie and found all the car parts needed for the pickup hehe
I hope they increase loot spawn rate, hard to find good loot
Anyone know reliable spots to find metal scrap?
* edit : these were shitty posts, see below *
script kiddies ( term created by DayZ, by the way )
Yeah, and Halo was the first FPS.
* shitty post, see below *
Yeah because "script kiddies" was totally the kind of term being used everywhere before DayZ right ? Maybe DayZ didn't invented the term, but it sure as hell made it popular  .
I've been playing online multiplayer games since 2001 (Good old AVP2), and even then the term 'script kiddy' was pretty damned prevalent.
Actually they need to increaste loot spawn rate inside containers. I never found shit in cabinets or dressers. Like there's a 0.000001 % of chance to find anything in them. I guess it's by design for server framerate ( ? ) [editline]19th January 2015[/editline] Yeah because "script kiddies" was totally the kind of term being used everywhere before DayZ right ?
Yeah, and Halo was the first FPS.
No, that would be call of duty, you dumbass.
Actually they need to increaste loot spawn rate inside containers. I never found shit in cabinets or dressers. Like there's a 0.000001 % of chance to find anything in them. I guess it's by design for server framerate ( ? )
Clegg tweeted that they found a new fix for why loot isn't spawning more. The last patch was working, but still not enough for servers that stay up. I know some people say "NO PLZ don't increase it, it won't be meaningful." But that's not fun. Running around for 2 hours and finding a can and a hat is not meaninful when you can still die so easily.
Fair enough then, never saw that term floating around before DayZ. But i still don't see how this argument suddenly invalidate the rest of my post, though. And i still don't understand why a BI developer would come in the H1Z1 thread to post something so damn useless ( of course you can change your IP, MAC and HWID and there's no miracle anticheat, but it's a solution way more effective and dissuasive to get rid of someone than just buying the game again on a new account, it's so damn obvious common sense that it actually hurts for me to type this shit out ), especially when the games produced by the said company are the most hacker infested games i've ever played. Like do you really think you are in a position to small talk on that specific subject ?
Clegg tweeted that they found a new fix for why loot isn't spawning more. We aren't talking about weapons.
So little loot! Is there anywhere in this game with loot?

I love you for having this way of ending arguments. Thanks you.
