It was suppose to launch at 10 am pacific, which is an hour from now, but as the second tweet says, they have last minute fixes to do.
Which i'm fine with, I had a test 30 mins after the initial release time of the game, so now I can go take it and get home before the game comes out!
Just a friendly heads up this is SOE and I find when it comes to Planetside 2 they can often screw up getting the servers back up on time meaning it can take anywhere from a couple hours to 24 hours longer for things to be running again. This is the release of an inevitably bugger early access game so it is wise to expect delays or be prepared for them if you intend to play today.
You don't ever see complaining that the racing genre is overpopulated. Zombie survival is just another genre and that means a lot of games are going to be similar, but doesn't that stand for a large majority of games?
Look at The Crew and Forza Horizon. Really similar, both have playerbases no one complains about them cooexisting -people complain that the crew exists because it's bad but that's not my point.
Sure there are a metric fucktonne of Zombie Games around but some are definitely better than others, strangely enough one of the worst is also the most praised: DayZ.
I agree H1Z1 is very much a clone but I have more faith in H1Z1 being more successful due to it being run by a bigger company with a much better engine. I don't like the art style but I sure like the idea of zombies actually being dangerous and having hundreds of players on one server. The sheer amount of zombies and players ought to make this a very good title in the genre.

This goes for any multiplayer early access title. It's early access, you have to expect a lot of issues, no matter who is creating it.

At the current rate of things that is probably how long it will be before it is playable. They made the "it is beyond our control" post nearl 30 minutes ago so who knows how long it will take at this rate.

I've been hyped for weeks now, i keep telling myself i can wait a little longer.
But i can't, i want to play it right now.
I wouldn't say I am super hyped or anything but considering they are confident enough release only a PVE mode for now it definitely grabs your attention to it having some potential.
