I don't mind the delay on the Alpha. But I hope they release the alpha before the end of the year.

The FAQ says that behind the lines (I assume he means the trenches), there are forests and a village. I'm curious as to how this will effect the game. Why would I ever need to go behind my own trenches. It seems like it would make more sense to have it in no man's lands as a area that's sorta impossible to see what is going on in. That would be great to have to clear out the village every so often of German recon squads or ambush a German patrol trying to get a better spot to attack. It would give something to do during the day when charges at the trenches are suicide. Also, I wonder what role stormtroopers will play in this game. I assume they would be the elite units who occasionally launch raids in the middle of the night but I don't know what else they would do.

Thus, I would deduce the village of Montzeville is the one being represented. Or they've taken some creative liberties and made up their own village for gameplay purposes.

Trench raids were ad-hoc events undertaken by all manner of ranks. Chances are they'll just be better armed enemies in game terms.

What is with the black outline on the pistols?
Is that first picture supposed to be some sort of rigged revolver cylinder that, when triggered, blows a hole through the poor fuck that tripped it? Will it have some sort of use in trench raiding gameplay-wise?

Verdun I feel was too rushed. They released the Beta without proper weapons for each side. All sides used the French Pistol and the German Rifle and Machinegun.
I have been waiting for this game for a long time. I honestly thought that development was halted, but not I'm really excited. Not enough WWI games out there.

Great, I'm stupidly excited for the trailer. My hope is that this game will sorta be a mix of Stalker and Far Cry 2 in that it is an open thinking man's shooter. It won't be as mind blowingly beautiful as Far Cry 2 but I can imagine this being one of the most enjoyable I've ever played if it delivers on everything.
As long as there is no Malaria.

Yeah, I'm most certainly relieved that we have actual news relating to the status of everything. It was also nice, because Cyril posted it on both the English, and French forums. It was not limited to Facebook this time around. He's really trying to make amends it seems!
I didn't expect anything new to be posted today, but there was a short video showing off the Ruby's animations posted today. No sound however. IMO the muzzle flash is too big/bright. Something lower key would be nice.
