OMG x3 became a lot less fun when people realized that having a butterfly and hood of defiance makes you literally invincible in every way.
They also start the game with a stout shield or poor mans so they can't die to right clicks.
Meanwhile I got Jinada and Walrus Punch, and later on got my hands on a Shadow Blade and a Rapier. Critting bitches for 17700. :v:
Sniper with Life Break was the most hilarious shit to watch especially since we also had the mod where you grow larger on kills so this huge-ass Pudge (like, ancient-size huge) got instagibbed by a teeny tiny Sniper. :v:
No greater feeling for a hard support than a lane you can and are allowed to farm as nobody else is near and you're not immediately needed elsewhere. Even just 500g makes you feel filthy fucking rich. :v:

should be a mod that allows you to ban certain items like butterfly, halberd, talisman, etc.
i wouldn't say outright ban them, just fix them so they're not gamebreakingly good

Dude you have no idea how true this is, haha. Whenever I'm #5, brown boots before 5:00 is great, and anything more than brown boots + wand before 15:00 feels like I'M FULLY FARMED. :v:
Most people underestimate just how much gold goes into constant wards, dewarding, smoke and constant upkeep of tp scrolls.

Playing a support and not getting any farm at all is fucking tedious and awful.
I once had bought two wards, courier and upped it, and a salve for the carry on my lane. All of this with maybe 2 last hits in my pocket.
Then I died and the carry asked me (not politely) why I didn't have boots yet, even though he said that I can't take any last hits from him.

Playing a support and not getting farm because your carry is getting fat as FUCK and the enemy does their utmost to disrupt your stacking/pulling, sure. Not getting farm because your own team utterly denies you however....
I recently had to support a Meepo as Silencer. Ok, fair enough. Silencer's a bitching support and deals a ton of damage with little to no farm. But after getting the courier, wards, flying courier, sentries to deward and not taking a single lasthit in lane my pullcamp first gets taken by Enchantress so I get bitched at by Meepo for not pulling. When I do finally get to stack/pull, Meepo comes in and Poofs it all down leaving nothing for me. By this point I'm 4 levels behind the rest and don't even have Brown Boots. Since I'm Silencer, I'm squishy and slow - so I'm a free kill by now. My team then goes "report silencer for feed plz". Luckily the enemy team noticed all of this so they told my team to fuck off but good god that game was horrible.
oh jesus christ, I hate it when your carry just goes "OH HEY MY SUPPORT IS PULLING", waltzes out of lane and comes and nukes the fucking camp down, then complains about you not pulling properly and the lane being pushed to shit so they can't farm at all.

Pubs are especially guilty of this since pubs put supports at 5 by definition. Sure, some heroes like CM, Lich or Veno don't need that many items so being put at 5 when playing those, I can live with.
Now try playing Earthshaker in a pub. Nightmare potential. I've had a carry yell at me when I took a last hit that was highly questionable if he was going to get it. Okay, I'll pull and farm the camp, lane's mad pushed anyway. Carry comes in and takes the last hits.
Then my team has the gall to call me useless because I barely finished mana boots by the 15 minute mark.

I love when my support creep blocks on easy lane so the entire enemy wave dies to tower, pulls before stacking, and keeps using his spells to steal absolutely all last hits and pushing the lane like fuck. (I had a Lina who used dragon slave to last hit with, even if it was just 1 creep, just to make sure I couldn't get it probably)
I haven't had a carry nuke down support pull camps or take any of those last hits at all for the last half year.

In a sense, ES can function with just mana boots. But you're essentially keeping the really smart kid back 2 grades. ES with a blink dagger is one of the scariest initiations Dota 2 has to offer, second probably only to Tide with blink.
Slamshaker isn't really a hard support though. I like to play him with some kind of semi-carry/whatever and just kill people as much as possible, that way we both get money.
