This is why I love SK. He doesn't have anything fancy like an illusion army or Chronosphere, he just chops stuff and doesn't ever give up
I actually think it'd be cool if they just made him some lowly foot soldier and he resurrects because he's determined to see an end to some long-forgotten war that he's still stuck in.

If he was just a soldier he'd be a pretty crappy hero, imagine the lore. 'Skeleton soldier is just one of thousands of skeleton soldiers, theres really no point saying anymore because theres like 1 million more of him in the skellylands.' Also the idea that one lowly soldier could kill something like doom or chaos knight, really powerful creatures lore-wise, doesn't make a whole lot of sense.

Am I the only one who doesn't really like Skeleton King's voice? I mean sure he's ballin' as hell and is by far one of the coolest heroes visually, but his voice is just... bleugh. Sounds like a guy with a particularly un-kingly voice straining to sound powerful and kingly.
Not that I'm dissing Dave Fennoy though, he did a stellar job with Jakiro, Void and Batrider, among others, it's just his voice doesn't really fit SK.

They probably wanted to avoid a generic kingly voice because hes a big spooky skelington and he'd probably end up sounding too much like Zeus.

oh I imagined it like the war ended centuries ago and his side lost, but his desire to protect his land or whatever kept him alive for so long that his flesh rotted away, leaving him only a creature of bone, stuck fighting a war that has long since ended. He doesn't have smarts, he doesn't have complex maneuvers or powerful talents or abilities, but you just can't keep him down (this sentence represents exactly how I feel when I play SK)

That's what I mean, he needed to sound different from a guy being asked "Put on a big, powerful voice that makes you sound 8 feet tall and manly". Zeus wouldn't have fit him any better either IMO. Besides, he sounds too much like Huskar. That might have to do with them having the same VA, but he did fine with his others.
I really love Eric Newsome's voice plus he seems like a nice guy irl too.
I could listen to Jen Taylor read addresses out of a phone book (unless she's doing Windrunner...)
And of course, David Scully's Dazzle is part of the reason he's my fav hero

Skeleton King's mortal strike becomng an active was a pretty good move imo, taking 20% health is great for suddenly finishing off enemies who thought that I was dead and they were going to barely make it out alive.
I wonder how they can turn Vampiric Aura into an active, though.
