Isn't Lifestealer's "real name" in DOTA2 N'aix as well? Like Tusk's real name is Ymir?
I thought that panel was for stuff like calling Nature's Prophet "Furion" or Disruptor "Thrall".
I find him easier to call Fura than "np" or "prophet/profit"

Yep. Leoric instead of Ostarion, Furion instead of Tequoia (tbh just call him tequila), that sort of thing. Lifestealer is still called N'aix, Tusk is still Ymir. Same goes for items. Guinsoo or Sheepstick, that sort of thing.

Doubly so since np is also shorthand for no problem. Furion/Profit is how I call him.

Only time I won't say Naix is if there's a Nyx on the field as well. I have no problems pronouncing it right but plenty of people have problems hearing it right.

I just don't see the point with most heroes, I see way too many "Raigor"s or "Obsidian"s, where if it's convenience you're going for, it's far better to say "ES" or "Outworld" or "OD" than it is to say their actual names. Plus it takes me that little bit longer when someone says "Gondar" to process it, as opposed to "Bounty", but no-one else seems to have issues with this.

But then again, if people repeatedly use the "lore" names or the dota 1 names you'll learn to use both names.

I'm pretty sure it was reserved for the guys who feel the need to call drums for janggos or or shadow blade for lothars.

Furion is the one wc3 name everyone who plays dota will know no matter when they started as long as they played more than 1 match featuring him, and Dirge and Shredder are quite popular as well.

Furion, Naix, THD/Twin-Headed Dragon, Bala and Bara are the only ones I've seen more than once.
