Dayum dayum dayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyum.
Right eye is slightly off, but other than that that's some sick work.
PL is one of the cooler heroes lore-wise I gotta say
Gotta agree; he was once a simple fisherman, but joined the army to take down a powerful wizard; after getting through traps and guardians he fought the wizard one-on-one, killing him and inheriting the power of the wizard, which is where his army of illusions comes from. That is pretty cool indeed.
Dumb wizard didn't buy dust report plz
PL is one of the cooler heroes lore-wise I gotta say
In my opinion Lycan has the coolest lore out of them all.
I think riki has some cool lore but all I see ingame is a shit eating blue monkey.
Dota 2 is pretty rich lore wise. There are tragic lores (like Lycan, Riki, Am, Jugg etc.), lores that explain origin of hero, his powers, rivalries and friendships. Surely, some of lore is hidden in character responses, but that only makes is interesting. When i started playing Dota 2, i was mostly shocked not by gameplay, but by deep of lore and its expressions in responses in a game with no actual storyline

Just look at LoL, they have some MMO style lore constantly changing with every patch and alliances and shit forming. But really if you just can pick the people friendly in lore and fight against each other what does that bring to the game?
I absolutely love Timbersaw's lore because it gives a glimpse of just how fucked up he really is, with just enough hints to give a vague idea about what happened but also leaves more than enough to your imagination.
Even if lore in a MOBA is "useless" from a gameplay standpoint, it still adds colour, makes the characters more interesting, and gives fuel for fanwork.
I [sp]dis[/sp]like Nature's Prophet's lore because it basically tells about his mom giving birth to him and thats it. I mean, read it:
When Verodicia, Goddess of the Woods, had finished filling in the green places, having planted the coiled-up spirit in the seed, having lured the twining waters from deep within the rock, having sworn the sun its full attention to the growing things, she realized that her own time had reached its end, and like one of the leaves whose fate she had imprinted in the seed, she would fall without seeing the fruiting of her dream. It pained her to leave the world bereft, for the sprouts had not yet broken through the soil--and they would be tender and vulnerable to every sort of harm. She found in her seed pouch one last seed that she had missed in the sowing. She spoke a single word into the seed and swallowed it as she fell. Her vast body decomposed throughout the long winter, becoming the humus that would feed the seedlings in the spring. And on the morning of the vernal equinox, before the rest of the forest had begun to wake, that last seed ripened and burst in an instant. From it stepped Nature's Prophet, in full leaf, strong and wise, possessing Verodicia's power to foresee where he would be needed most in defense of the green places--and any who might be fortunate enough to call him an ally.
I like to imagine that Furion pops out of a seed with fully farmed gear, he begins his TP channel and goes to Dagon some poor soul, right after being born. Also Enigma's lore because it is so mysterious~
Eh, he's more of the elemental manifestation of gravity more than anything; after all he's one of the Fundamentals who represent the four elemental forces underpinning physics. Though if that's the case, who represents the Higgs Boson?
Zeus' model is fantastic I love the angry midget in a blue kimono, better than a generic greek god #8432
Compare the quality of zeus's model to tusk or earthshaker. He looks like crap

I get all of them except the jellyfish; is that meant to be Morphling or Io?
Those Skywrath birds are 102% adorable. Spirit Breaker pig is missing his Aghsdick, though.
I get all of them except the jellyfish; is that meant to be Morphling or Io?
I think it's Medusa Meduza is jellyfish in my language so my guess is that and Medusa is green+red
I get all of them except the jellyfish; is that meant to be Morphling or Io?

I think it's Medusa
it's blue and it's got hints of red and green (like the morph ability) on it could it logically be anyone OTHER than morphling
I think it's Medusa Meduza is jellyfish in my language so my guess is that and Medusa is green+red
Meduusa is also the Finnish word for a Jellyfish, so I'd say that it the most logical choice.
it's blue and it's got hints of red and green (like the morph ability) on it could it logically be anyone OTHER than morphling
[T]http://www.cyborgmatt.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/01/Dota2_Medusa02.jpg[/T] Medusa also uses red & green, not to mention the snakes resemble a jellyfish' tentacles. Morphling isn't an animal, but if he were I'd say he'd best be represented as an amoeba or something.
Compare the quality of zeus's model to tusk or earthshaker. He looks like crap
Axe has it the worst when it comes to shit models, his shoulder looks deformed and pointy due to him have such a low poly count
Axe has it the worst when it comes to shit models, his shoulder looks deformed and pointy due to him have such a low poly count
And his textures make me cry.
Axe and Zeus definitely need model and texture updates; hopefully we'll have a redesign before the year ends.
arent jellyfish like 90% water? its probably morphling
Considering how central axe has been with all the marketing and shit you'd really think they'd make him look like he isn't made of lego.
arent jellyfish like 90% water? its probably morphling
99hunters tagged the original post with morphling rather than medusa anyway
IMO lore in a moba game is pretty useless to have.
It's still nice to have cool shit to read. If all the characters were completely silent then it'd be a much worse game.
It's still nice to have cool shit to read. If all the characters were completely silent then it'd be a much worse game.
Some people like to play with the voices AND music off... That's like having the fun centre of your brain removed
