To be honest I don't like those sprites and I hope they are placeholders. The low quality textures really stand out and they show absolutely no emotion or whatsoever, your best bet would be to get someone to paint over them and add details, overexaggerating poses and facial expressions. Or maybe even draw them from scratch. Then it'd be amazing.

Nate's sprites definitely are placeholders. Though his expressions are bland because he is Bland McGumbo and because photoshop is hard. Clockwerk doesn't really have facial expressions so I've tried exaggerating a few of his poses which I didn't show, like this one:

the issue with the low res textures is that I'm not quite sure how to make them Higher quality. LOD commands didn't really do anything when I tried them. Of course, if valve adds official support for dota models as well as higher quality models while I'm making the game, I'll definitely re-do them.
